Chapter 1398: Chapter 595: Nothing Tastes Better Than a Brother’s Cooking! (Second Update)

Fugen and Angerong stayed in the Kakasong Duchy for a while.

After witnessing Fugen and Angerong’s power, Duke Hubeard of Kakasong realized that these two demigods could help him. The cold duke privately requested Fugen and Angerong to help solve a problem—the Steel Orc Tribe in the Yinara Mountain Range.

This Green Skin Tribe integrates steel into their bodies, making them stronger and crazier. Duke Hubeard used all his might and only barely managed to drive them back into the mountains, preventing them from rushing into the Kakasong Plain.

Therefore, Duke Hubeard requested Fugen and Angerong for help, making it clear that he couldn’t offer any special gifts or rewards in exchange, relying only on the fact that the whole duchy has been resisting almost endless invasions and sacrificing countless lives for a millennium, hoping Fugen and Angerong would lend their aid.

If the duke had immediately offered a large sum of money to make them mercenaries, the Primarchs would likely reject outright without thinking, but this sincere request instead touched the two Genetic Primarchs. Fugen and Angerong agreed to help, with Fugen as the commander. Duke Hubeard sent scouts and shepherds to lead the team.

But it turned out the Kakasong Duchy’s people had made a serious mistake in intelligence.

The people of this duchy are brave warriors, tough and unyielding, though apparently not so great culturally. They informed Fugen and Angerong that these Steel Green Skins worship Chaos, claiming they’re quite formidable!

Fugen and Angerong listened and were puzzled.

When did Green Skins start worshiping Chaos?

It was later understood that the Kakasong people couldn’t quite differentiate between Green Skins, Undead, and Chaos; to them, they were all enemies, so in their simple logic, Green Skins also worshiped Chaos.

Realizing explaining would be troublesome, Fugen didn’t bother to speak further—well, let them worship Chaos, it makes no difference—they’ll be eliminated all the same.

At Red Fish Village by the Xinong River, the summer river water flowed incessantly, Dwarf-made water wheels constantly pumped water, and afar, a tall windmill was turning.

Fugen, Angerong, and Laine strolled along the Xinong River; it was now mid-August, almost late August, no longer so hot.

Fugen wanted to see how Angerong’s farm estate was doing.

This Primarch of the Emperor’s Sons caused a stir in Laine Territory.

The entire territory took great interest in Laine’s brother.

So handsome! What a heart-throbbingly handsome man! Once Fugen appeared in the territory, this tall and attractive gentleman immediately became the hottest topic around.

Perfect appearance, graceful speech, noble demeanor, handsome looks, powerful martial valor.

This is what a real demigod should look like!

Everyone knows Laine’s brothers are demigods; at the wedding venue, six demigods appeared, and with Fugen, that made seven demigod brothers.

Of course, there were many whispers privately; some suspected all of Laine’s brothers were half-siblings, otherwise their differences wouldn’t be so vast. Seeing Fugen appear made them more certain, convinced that Laine’s father must have more than one woman, there’s evidence!

The dark man appeared only once, unfamiliar to most, but everyone was familiar with Lord Angerong!

Surely Lord Laine and Lord Fugen are of the same parents, while Lord Angerong must be illegitimate! No need to discuss anything else individually; look at his demeanor and appearance, does he resemble a noble?

Everyone firmly believed this.

”So, all problems are resolved, right?” Laine walked in front, smiling as he spoke: ”Brother, thank you for the expedition.”

”It’s nothing, over ten thousand years, I’ll take back all the past mistakes bit by bit.” Fugen shook his head with a smile: ”With me at Lustria, you need not worry, I also know about your affair, you’ve reclaimed Musillon and are about to become King, we each play our roles, each finds our destiny.”

”You’re always so concerned about those things.” Angerong felt a bit sulky; he’d heard the rumors within the domain, if it were the past, he’d charge up with an axe to cut it down.

Nonetheless, having tended land for many years, Angerong’s temper had settled considerably. He thought carefully, realizing his appearance differed greatly, though even in his peak Fugen wouldn’t have been his match, yet he still felt discontent.

Entering Red Fish Village, Angerong’s house and estate were nearby, with many hardworking peasants working as farmhands, laboring, helping him raise pigs, chickens, and ducks, tending the land; they provided labor while Angerong offered them protection.

”Angerong, I came here specially from Lustria to find you. I heard you’re farming here; do you have anything to offer me as a treat?” Fugen looked intently at the whole flourishing village, the dense crowds, even on the village street were grocery shops and taverns, smoke billowing from chimneys, clothes hanging along the roadside.

”You didn’t bring any specialty from Lustria for me!” Angerong replied displeased.

”Of course, I have!” Fugen smiled slightly, retrieving a small statue from his Space Ring.

This statue was carved with high-quality tropical rainforest hardwood from Lustria, shaped like a Demon Toad sitting on a Golden Throne, eyes closed in meditation, a figure of knowledge and wisdom.

”Uh.” Angerong didn’t expect Fugen really brought a gift, the World-Devourer Primarch awkwardly accepted the statue from Fugen, mumbling: ”Thanks...can you tell me what it’s for?”

”No particular use, I casually took it from Great Lord Crok,” Fugen shook his head: ”No special magic ability, but it contains the Demon Toad’s wisdom and life experiences.”

”There’s not a Chaos Great Demon hiding inside?” Angerong swung the statue back and forth, checking for any issues.

”...Angerong, if you want an honor duel, you can just say it directly.” Upon hearing this, Fugen’s tone immediately changed: ”No need to be so secretive, that’s not like you.”

”Alright, alright, since you’ve brought me gifts from Lustria, I’ll entertain you with some treats, you sissy.” Angerong carefully put the statue away and then shouted as he opened the farm gate: ”Want something to eat? How about I catch a chicken?”

”A chicken for three people? You’re too stingy!” Fugen’s eyes darted around, noticing the farm was self-sufficient with everything.

”Hahaha~” Laine laughed incessantly on the side.

”Just say what you want to eat!” Angerong signaled the peasants to bring clean water: ”Don’t say half and leave half, making me guess. If you do, your dinner today will be pig fodder!”

”Alright, alright, then slaughter a pig for Laine and me to taste~” Fugen shrugged upon hearing this: ”How about you cook for us?”

”Sure.” Angerong led Laine and Fugen into the pigsty he had built with his own hands.

”Oink oink~” As the pigsty door opened, there were many big fat pigs inside. Seeing Angerong, they thought he was there to feed them, rushed forward together, snorting and making smelly noises.

”Hey, what would your progeny think if they knew their Primarch was raising pigs?” Fugen saw the plump pigs and realized Angerong had put effort and thought into it.

”What they think has nothing to do with me, I never really managed them.” Angerong shook his head: ”Which one do you want to eat?”

”Do we look like we can choose? Just pick one for us.”

”Alright then, let me see.” After observing for a while, Angerong reached into the pigsty, grabbing a several-hundred-pound pig with one hand: ”How about this one? Berkshire pig, great meat quality, famous for marbled lean meat.”

”Sure!” Fugen and Laine nodded.

”Oink oink~” The large pig was still half-asleep, dazed as it was grabbed, barely struggling.

”Then let’s go with this one.” Angerong grabbed the pig, squeezing its jaw with a mischievous smile: ”You see, this pig often daydreams, no reaction even when I grab it, doesn’t like moving at all.”

”Eat and sleep, sleep and eat, dreaming all day, loves daydreaming.”

”This won’t do, it’ll easily lead other pigs astray!”

”Why not make it into roast pig! Let it understand dreams are useless, action is needed~” Angerong squeezed the pig’s face.

”Oink oink~” The pig seemed to realize what was happening, finally snapping out of its daze, starting to struggle desperately, but too late.

”Cock-a-doodle-doo!” The rooster’s crow resonated from afar, echoing throughout the quiet and peaceful village.

With the help of peasants, Angerong slaughtered the pig, cleaned and seasoned it.

Added ginger, salt, oil, spices, and even some red wine; after thorough marination, the whole pig was roasted over a fire.

Golden oil dripped, sparking flames when it hit the fire.

The three gathered around the roast pork, paired with red wine, Laine tasted the premium marbled pork, tender and flavorful, yet retaining an inherent freshness.

”Things from a brother’s place are the best!” Laine said while cutting meat with a knife.

”Angerong, I must say, you’re already a master pig farmer!” Fugen nodded repeatedly, unable to hide his smile: ”An excellent internal affairs talent like you, our dear His Excellency Imperial Regent Kiliman will surely grant you a new title at the Terra Supreme Lord Council, maybe... Supreme Lord of Pig Raising?”

”I won’t serve under Kiliman.” At Kiliman’s mention, Angerong scoffed: ”If he wants me to submit, he should defeat me first.”

”He and his progeny are more than enough to defeat you.” Fugen said while seasoning the roast pork.

”I meant one-on-one!” Angerong impatiently emphasized.

”One-on-one? Have you forgotten how you lost to Ruth?” Fugen sneered: ”Father’s point is right there, if you don’t understand, then stay a farmer for life.”

”...Have you spoken with Father?” Angerong frowned, devouring lean meat from his knife, then took a white bread and rinsed lettuce, wrapping it with roast meat.

Laine also turned his attention to Fugen.

”I have, we communicated in Mist City, using machines left by the Ancient Saint.” Fugen said earnestly: ”That’s also why I returned to the Old World.”

”Want to know what Father said?” Fugen sprinkled pepper and cumin powder on the roast.

”What did he say?”

”Father told me...”
