Chapter 1354: Chapter 578: Chaos in Tiriel

As a matter of fact, the knights of Kakasong Duchy all know of a Horned Eagle Beast Knight who often smuggles across borders, but they turn a blind eye. First of all, many nobles of the Kingdom also enjoy riding Pegasi to do the same. Moreover, this Horned Eagle Beast Knight once single-handedly challenged an entire Green Skin Tribe, grabbing the shoulders of the Green-skinned Warlord with both hands and tearing apart a troublesome Green-skinned Warlord for Kakasong on the spot.

In the distance, the magnificent Miraglino City State stands tall; the Tiriel Kingdom is divided into multiple duchies, and Miraglino is undoubtedly the leader among them.

When Angerong descended riding the Horned Eagle Beast, he discovered the city was under martial law.

This made Angerong feel confused; the World-Devourer Primarch had originally planned to order a brand new precision pocket watch from the watchmaker in Miraglino for his soon-to-be-born nephew. Miraglino has a famous master watchmaker named Patek Philippe, whose watches are renowned in the Old World. Angerong had come to find him.

If the watchmaker is unwilling, he would ”persuade” him to be willing; if any guests were unwilling to let Angerong cut in line, he would also ”persuade” them to be willing.

However, the problem wasn’t as complicated; the Hadrian Commerce Association’s branch office is located in Miraglino, along with the famous Half-Elf Kunisberry Commerce Association. Angerong has dealt with these Half-Elves many times; making a small pocket watch shouldn’t be difficult.

A few Half-Elves from the Kunisberry Commerce Association saw the appearance of the Horned Eagle Beast from afar. Such a fierce giant beast in the Human Realm... at least in Tiriel, is genuinely rare, so the Half-Elves immediately rushed over, gathered together, and said to the just-landed Angerong: ”Mr. Angerong! It is the most, most, most, most, most, most honorable thing to see you again. I swear that your appearance is like the sun appearing in the night, like a piece of braised beef among a pile of sauerkraut...”

”What happened? Why is the city under martial law?” Angerong reached out and patted the neck of the Horned Eagle Beast, handing over a piece of raw meat, which the beast immediately gobbled up and called out happily.

”Our Prince, Bogil the Besieger, was assassinated in the Great Bath!” The Half-Elf shouted angrily, reaching out to hold Angerong’s leg: ”Mr. Angerong, our Prince was assassinated! He is dead, and now all those mercenaries in the city are fighting for the title of Prince. Are you interested? The Half-Elves will support you!”

”I’m not interested.” Angerong thought to himself that he came at the wrong time, but the task must be completed: ”Where is the watchmaker?”

”Alright, alright, bad-hearted Lord Angerong doesn’t want to protect Bogil, Bogil will take you then.” Seeing that Angerong didn’t want to step forward, the Half-Elf merchant immediately changed his attitude and pulled out a pass from his pocket. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

With the pass, Angerong smoothly entered Miraglino.

In the midsummer season, the city’s streets are quite deserted. With Bogil’s death, Miraglino no longer has a prince and ruler; none of the mercenary leaders are convincing enough, and the tense situation has led to commercial decline since no one wants to do business in a chaotic situation.

”Hmph! A bunch of pathetic wretches only focused on power struggles.” Angerong grumbled discontentedly: ”When the people of the north are wholeheartedly resisting the evil invasion, the people here are busy fighting civil wars.”

”Yes, Mr. Angerong, our Kunisberry Commerce Association trade route suffered as well, our profits compared year-on-year decreased... reversed decreased... cyclically decreased...” The Half-Elf babbled on.

”Calm down, ladies and gentlemen!” At this moment, a figure resembling a priest giving a speech caught Angerong’s attention as he gestured for the Half-Elf to shut up.

”Calm down, citizens! In this chaotic time, we find that the nearby Green Skin Tribes of the Black Mountain Range have shown signs of activity!” This priest was extremely strong, with a battle axe on his back, dressed in red linen clothing, and bound with iron chains: ”Therefore, I bring you the teachings of the great God of War!”

”Oh oh oh! What teachings does the God of War bring us?” The gathered crowd vociferously clamored as more people in the chaotic state placed their spiritual hopes upon the Deities.

”Anger, and hatred from the deepest part of your hearts! That will give us strength! When you face the enemy, you need to learn to breathe deeply, and then release your battle cry, facing the enemy!” The priest shouted loudly: ”Learn to roar, learn to fight, learn to cut open the enemy’s neck and chest with your axe!”

”Oh oh oh oh!” A large tumultuous cheer from below.

”???” Angerong’s expression slightly changed.

”Imagine, imagine the rushing river of blood! Imagine you’ve destroyed the enemy! A strong will shall watch over you. What’s that? Is it the blessing of the Mirmidia Goddess? Yes indeed, the spirited you now think only of collecting the heads of enemies, chopping off their heads!” The priest shouted, raising his right hand, the trembling iron chains, dripping blood, and swaying skull resonating in a strange frequency: ”The Gods demand sacrifices!”

”!!!” Angerong’s hand was already reaching towards his pair of battle axes on his back.

”But there is no enemy before us!” A Miraglino citizen shouted loudly.

”Yes, indeed, we have no enemy in front of us, but haven’t you noticed? The heads of these cowards around us aren’t bad either...”

”Bang!” A gunshot sounded in the distance, a mercury bullet speeding from deep within an alley, smashing the priest’s head to pieces, blood and brains splattering everywhere.

In screams and panic, the crowd dispersed, leaving Angerong standing alone in front of the platform. The World-Devourer Primarch didn’t turn his head back, retracting his hands from his battle axes: ”I could smell your stink from three streets away, you sissy.”

”His words remind me of Kane, but does Kane have such high intelligence?” The newcomer was followed by a few fully armed Great Swordsman officers, the muzzle of the short-barreled Fire Cannon in his hand still fuming, his silver hair floating in the bright sunlight.

”Who knows?” Angerong chuckled: ”Long time no see, brother.”

”Yes, indeed, long time no see. Interested in going with me to see the legendary Arabi Lamp God?”

”Of course.”
