Chapter 1365: Chapter 583: The Secret Techniques of a Real Summer Night (Seriously)

PS: It’s a new month, please vote! Here’s a 4600-word Chapter!

At the entrance of the bathhouse, everything was ready. Two burly men in their thirties, with bare backs, were wrapped in towels, prepared to soak in the hot spring.

Strictly speaking, there wasn’t a hot spring beneath Laine’s Duke’s Castle, but the Dwarf’s craftsmanship and tunnel technology were indeed impressive. Even without a hot spring, they managed it with steam technology and mine techniques.

Apparently, it was because Surya heard that soaking in a hot spring is beneficial for health, so she requested it. At the time, Laine was out campaigning, and all matters, big and small, were left to Surya’s discretion. Naturally, the hot spring got built. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ

A golden basin was placed at the entrance, with water flowing out from a beautifully crafted Dwarf faucet, and the sound of gushing water filled the bathhouse entrance.

Alfred found it a bit odd. He walked up to the basin and mumbled, ”I understand the concept, but why put a golden basin at the entrance and fill it with water?”

”I suppose it’s the symbolism of washing hands with a golden basin.” Laine chuckled, dipping his hands into the basin to wash them: ”Wash your hands, wash your hands, golden basin washing hands, Afu, remember, don’t be a bad guy anymore.”

”Bad guy?” Alfred didn’t quite get it, but he didn’t mind. Seeing Laine wash his hands, he mimicked him: ”Alright! I’ll never be a bad guy again!”

The hot spring water was already prepared. In the tiled bathhouse, steam lingered as Laine and Alfred tested the water temperature, feeling it was just right before immersing themselves in the hot spring water.

”Whoa, this feels great!” Alfred let out a satisfied sigh. The Temple Knight Commander had scars all over his body from years of training. Alfred paid a considerable price, including many burn marks on his back, a great cost during the assault on Musillon Castle.

Likewise, Laine had streamlined muscles, with many scars on his chest and back. Since leaving Autene and his foster father’s warm little castle, he had endured countless hardships. This expedition had added more scars to his body, including those left by Demon Carlos under Tzeentch, then by Landuin, and finally by Mathew Bade.

All these were his badges of honor.

”Oh wow, Afu, nice physique!” Laine submerged himself in the water, covering his head with a towel while jokingly saying, ”I heard Mr. Alfred did well in recovering Musillon?”

”Are you kidding!” Alfred felt quite proud, raising his thumb to himself: ”I’m super brave, you know?”

”Hahaha, not bad, not bad, solid shoulders.” Laine squeezed Alfred’s shoulder.

”Laine, what are you doing?” Alfred thought Laine was teasing him. He wrapped his arm around Laine’s neck, flexing his muscles: ”Hey, future Knight King, try this wrestling technique, Alfred’s Secret Move!”

”Whoa!” Laine got dunked underwater, hot spring water splashing all over his face. He cried out, escaping Alfred’s attack, and reversed it, pinning his arm, making Alfred choke on some water: ”Try my Beast Power! The King’s Path!”

”Hahahahaha~”

”Hahahahahahahahahahaha~”

Laughter and splashes echoed in the bathhouse.

After a playful scuffle, the two men in their thirties settled down. Amid sweat and muscular impacts, Laine suddenly showed interest: ”Afu, haven’t thought about finding a girlfriend? You’re already a Temple Knight Commander.”

”I don’t know.” Alfred had beads of sweat on his forehead as he leaned against the hot spring pool, sighing softly: ”I always feel a bit unconfident.”

Laine couldn’t stop laughing, scooping up water from the hot spring and splashing it on Alfred’s face: ”What’s there to be unconfident about? Afu, if you go to Estalia now, I doubt Miss Claudia would refuse again.”

”But if so, I really wouldn’t understand if she wanted Alfred or a Temple Knight Commander with his own domain?” Alfred nodded, his tone somewhat hesitant: ”What if she just desires my status and money?”

”Ha~ We can also think the opposite way, you just want a girlfriend, not a wife.” Laine sneered: ”If she just wants to mess around with you, you can mess around with her too. After all, isn’t it labeled at a price?”

”If I really just want to play around, why not spend a silver coin in town to find a Leonais woman? There are quite a few like that in your town, good friend, a silver coin can find someone quite decent. Why would I need a girlfriend?” Alfred mumbled.

Laine looked deeply moved, his face sincere and excited: ”Afu! You’ve finally seen it clearly! Truly, you’re a good brother of mine, Laine!”

”???” Alfred was initially confused, then annoyed and slightly angry, splashing water directly on Laine’s face: ”Oh, so this is the kind of Laine you are!”

”Splash~” Hot spring water splashed over Laine’s face, who dodged while laughing, saying to Alfred: ”It’s actually quite simple, as long as you understand. I won’t say much more, but for you now, finding a girlfriend is easy, but definitely be cautious when it comes to marriage.”
