Chapter 1375: Chapter 586: Sylvia’s Stubbornness_2

”No, not here.” Sylvia’s face turned pale and then flushed, finally she gave in, the Head Maid whispered: ”Let’s change the location.”

”Alright.” Laine picked up Sylvia in his arms.

A few minutes later, a guest room on the third floor of the castle.

Laine placed Sylvia onto a sofa chair, then the Duke sat opposite her and said with a smile: ”Now, can you tell me?”

”It was... it was your personal Dark Elf maid who did it!” Sylvia leaned weakly on the sofa chair, trying her best to sit upright, the Head Maid blushed, speaking through gritted teeth: ”She did something to me!”

”Why? Ollica promised me she wouldn’t cause trouble. Did you provoke her? Sylvia, I need you to tell me the truth.” Laine still found it odd after hearing this, he immediately pressed further: ”Otherwise, I can’t help you.”

Seemingly recalling something unpleasant, the Maid’s face turned even redder, she gritted her teeth: ”I just entered her place.”

”You entered the Pale Courtyard?!” Laine immediately understood and asked: ”Isn’t that the place where Ollica conducts potion making and magic experiments, forbidden for anyone to enter without invitation?”

”So what? It’s a critical time now, how can I allow an unsecured area in the castle?” Sylvia twisted uncomfortably, continuing with difficulty: ”Two days ago, I finally found an opportunity to go in, but that Dark Elf had already realized my intention...”

Sylvia gradually told the whole story to Laine.

Upon entering the Pale Courtyard, Sylvia was immediately discovered by Ollica. Of course, the Dark Elf was displeased with someone ignoring the ban and trespassing in her domain, and Laine’s personal maid and the Head Maid had a confrontation inside the Pale Courtyard.

”You lost?” Laine found it amusing. He, as the master, was most aware of the Dark Elf’s level of skill.

”I’m no match for her... She defeated me and tied me to a rack.” Sylvia spoke with great embarrassment about that shameful moment, but she finished: ”She said if it was someone else who intruded in her courtyard, she’d certainly cut off all their limbs and make them into an experiment subject, but she couldn’t do that to me, so she... she took out a pink potion, applied it on some... parts of mine, cursed them, and then let me go, that’s how I became like this.”

”Alright, I understand, I’ll talk to Ollica about this, but Sylvia, you also need to pay attention, Ollica has my permission to establish the Pale Courtyard. Next time, don’t be so presumptuous.” Laine slightly frowned, thinking both were in the wrong: Sylvia shouldn’t have barged into the Pale Courtyard without Ollica’s permission, but Ollica shouldn’t have resorted to private justice: ”But what do you need now? Should I ask Ollica to prepare the antidote for you?”

”No... the Dark Elf said there’s only one way to cure it.”

”To do that kind of thing?” Laine furrowed his brow, what was that?

”No, it’s not what you’re thinking, you only need to...” The Head Maid shook her head vigorously, then she explained the Dark Elf’s trick, and how to temporarily unlock the potion’s effects and Ollica’s curse.

It was indeed a malicious trick, and after hearing it, Laine understood the Dark Elf’s true intention.

It really had to be Laine to help with this.

”Alright then.”

...I’m the dividing line for the malicious little trick...

Twenty minutes later, inside the castle, Lady’s garden.

Laine strolled with his hands behind his back within the garden, Sylvia in her maid outfit blushed deeply, following unsteadily behind him, her mind occasionally flashed back to the previous events, each time she thought of it her brain seemed to smoke, nearly fainting at any moment.

”Are you feeling better, Sylvia?” Laine gazed at the midsummer night sky, listening to the cicadas in the garden, his expression a bit pained.

It was truly a special method for detoxification and curse-breaking, he wasn’t sure if he should praise the Dark Elf for her ingenuity or criticize her for her recklessness.

”Much better, thank you, Lord Laine.” Sylvia blushed: ”Sorry for causing you so much trouble and for delaying the evening’s meeting.”

”It’s nothing, by the way, can I call you Sylvie? Like Surya does?” Laine’s facial muscles twitched slightly, he said casually.

The Duke felt it was time to clarify the issue.

”If you insist.” Sylvia lowered her head, after everything just happened, she felt she had no face to look at Laine directly.

”I’ve always felt you... seem to dislike me, Sylvie.” Laine smiled wryly, he’d known Sylvia for many years, almost ten years since he arrived at the Knight Kingdom, Sylvia grew from a fifteen or sixteen-year-old girl to a twenty-five-year-old woman, but her attitude remained unchanged: ”All these years.”

”...I’ve never disliked you, Lord Laine, you are the embodiment of Knightly Path virtues, your strength, glory, wisdom have saved the Kingdom from danger multiple times, you’ve proven your power and flawlessness over and over again, I only have respect and admiration for you.” Sylvia outright denied Laine’s view, she anxiously added: ”I swear to the Lady!”
