Chapter 975: Chapter 425: False Spring Cold (Part 3)

”Hmm, the Dwarves didn’t start a fight with the Wood Elves, did they?” Laine was still looking at the documents.

In preparation for attacking the Black Stone Stronghold, he and his territory must be fully prepared.

”Ah, the Dwarves are prideful, the Wood Elves never listen to any explanations. The two sides started arguing over whether a barrel of ale was half-full or half-empty, and then began fighting with weapons. I thought something big was happening,” Surya sat in the armchair, holding her head as she looked at her husband, ”It turned out to be such a trivial matter, I think the Dwarves are more to blame.”

”Dwarves fighting after drinking is quite normal; no need to worry much about it. It’s said that if a human can win against a Dwarf in a drunken brawl, he can earn the Dwarf’s friendship,” Laine finally finished marking the last document, the Count leaned back in the armchair, ”Teresa, once your Wizard Tower is completed, how about Surya and I visit there?”

”Of course you’re welcome, just not sure when it will be completed,” Teresa cautiously glanced at Surya, seeing no objection from her before agreeing fully. The female sorcerer always felt a bit intimidated facing this Duke’s daughter; Surya’s means were too powerful, even Laine’s home was managed perfectly by her.

”Father is also starting the preparations for war; the Winford Duchy will deploy five thousand troops this time, including two thousand Knights and two Pegasus Knight squads,” Surya picked up the teacup and said to Laine, ”However, the scouts detected some strange signs; there’s no movement in the Black Stone Stronghold, it seems Kemler himself is not in the stronghold, yet there’s still a huge Undead Army guarding the place. Father’s idea is to prepare thoroughly before considering an advance.”

Not in the Black Stone Stronghold? Laine frowned, pondering the reason behind it. This might explain why Kemler didn’t cause trouble during the repeated wars in Brittania.

So... where did Kemler go?

......

Old World, southern end of the Gray Mountain Range, atop mountains thousands of meters above sea level.

This is the famous peak ”Heart of Doomsday” in the Gray Mountain Range, a mountain several thousand meters high, with snow atop it that never melts throughout the year.

At the peak is an Ice Lake.

Holy Sanctuary Undead Grandmaster Heinrich Kemler, wearing a Shadow Mist Cloak adorned with skeletons, and holding a Noisy Skull Staff in one hand and a sharp bone sword in the other, was advancing on the mountain.

”It’s nearby,” Heinrich Kemler, looking like a gentle, easygoing wizard elder from outward appearance, was several hundred years old this year. Ever since being severely injured by Francois, this Holy Sanctuary Undead Grand Wizard’s strength wasn’t as before, which made him fluctuate between madness and clarity. Enduring the pain in his skull, he knew he must hurry.

He must find the tomb of the Champion of the Four Chaos Gods!

Upon stepping onto the frozen lake, the Undead Grand Wizard signaled his army to quickly clear a path. Kemler could feel the rich Power of Chaos in the air, what he wanted was right ahead.

What made Kemler angry was that someone had gotten there before him.

A Chaos Champion was leading his War Gang, excavating the ice surface, and beneath the Ice Lake, a massive tomb was being dug out.

”Oh, yes, yes, I feel it, indeed, Guer’s tomb is right ahead,” Kemler felt the power of the Wind of Chaos, the Undead Grand Wizard muttered to himself, a bit madly.

Upon seeing Kemler appear, the Chaos Champion shouted, signaling his War Gang to stop digging, and this Chaos War Gang raised their weapons, charging towards Kemler.

But Kemler was not alone. The Undead Grand Wizard raised his staff, and tens of thousands of undead gathered around him: ”Ancient Tomb Legion! My servants, kill all these Chaos Scraps!”

Behind Kemler were several Skeleton Legions and Zombie Legions, two fully-fledged Desolate Grave Guard Legions, bands of Terror Wolves and Ferocious Bat Battle Groups, a squad of elite Tomb Ghoul Legion and a unit of Tomb Evil Ghosts.

And a band of Stone Tomb Binding Spirits and Spirit-Binding Knights.

”Guer’s remains belong to me!”

The battle upon the Ice Lake began.
