Warhammer Divine Throne

Chapter 959: Chapter 418: This Isn’t What Was Promised! (2)

”Surya, Amelia, are you alright?” Laine came to his wife and maid’s side, Surya and Amelia shook their heads, and the elegantly dressed lady knight approached Laine, holding his arm.

The little maid Amelia was wearing a gothic symmetrical Western floral dress with vertical buttons, her mountain spring-like temperament fully displayed. She had already grasped the hilt of the rapier at her waist but sighed in relief as the situation was brought under control. Amelia tidied her golden long hair and quickly came to Laine’s side, intending to ask him something.

Unintentionally, Amelia’s gaze swept across the Grand Judge Nuer and Lady of Nuer who were watching her.

A deep chill spread from head to toe, Amelia immediately realized they had come for her, frightened to trembling, the little maid wailed and instinctively hid behind Laine, tightly clinging to his other arm.

”What’s wrong, Amelia?” Laine asked curiously, ”Are you okay?”

”I’m fine... Laine, I feel a bit uncomfortable here, can you take me over there?” Amelia felt her heart pounding, her small bosom resounding continuously, a chilling coldness swirling inside her.

The people from Nuer have come! They’ve found me!

But I don’t want to leave Laine!

What to do, what to do, what to do?!

Laine didn’t think much, he believed the little maid might have been frightened, so he took Amelia backward, while Surya thoughtfully glanced in the direction of Elspeth von Draken and Theodore Bruckner.

The riot at the banquet had been suppressed, five peasants lay in pools of blood, guards and attendants were cleaning the scene under the Duke’s orders. The small disturbance didn’t affect Duke Bodric’s good mood, he ordered the banquet to proceed as usual and instructed his deputy, Sea God Knight Order Vice-Captain Sir Houlf, to move some castle guards to suppress the turmoil in the city.

”Now, we can be 100% sure, that is Emmanuelle.” Elspeth said to Theodore, ”That was the most standard Nuer Court Rapier Stabbing Technique opening, in the Empire, no more than fifty people know it.”

”In a place like Brittania, of similar age, roughly matching appearance, and knowing the Nuer Court Rapier Stabbing Technique, and is Count Laine’s maid, it must undoubtedly be Emmanuelle, moreover... she must have recognized us too.” Theodore Bruckner’s expression was extremely serious. ”But from current observation, she appears reluctant to contact us.”

”After such a painful experience, it’s very normal for Emmanuelle to be unwilling to contact us, but she carries the blood of the Prince-Elector family! She cannot escape her responsibility!” Elspeth’s voice was ghostly, she thought for a few seconds and continued, ”I think we must discuss with Count Laine about his maid.”

”Will he prevent us from taking Emmanuelle? If there’s no other option, I’ll demand a champion duel with him.” Theodore Bruckner shouted loudly, ”That’s my duty, only Emmanuelle is the rightful owner of Nuer that I acknowledge.”

”Laine Macado is the Divine Chosen Champion of the Lady of the Lake, a model of the Knightly Path, the duty of a knight is protection and honor, he has no reason to refuse us taking Emmanuelle because he can’t prevent Emmanuelle from fulfilling her duty.” Elspeth continued, ”Our next goal is to find a way to communicate with Emmanuelle, let her understand her responsibility, and come back to Nuer with us. As long as Emmanuelle agrees, Laine will definitely let her go.”

”Yes, this is the best approach.” Theodore nodded. ”I’m not someone who excels in communication, I prefer to act according to the law and contracts, or directly conduct judicial duels... Lady Elspeth? Are you listening?”

The Grand Judge Nuer noted the Tomb Rose’s severe expression, she was mobilizing her Death Element Magic Power!

”What’s happening? What’s the matter?” The Grand Judge Nuer reached instinctively for the sword at his waist, only to realize his sword was handed to the attendants when entering.

”Someone! Someone is casting spells inside the castle trying to summon undead creatures!” Elspeth was mobilizing her formidable magic power, the massive purple magic power surrounded her emaciated frame, purple threads entwined her fingertips. This Holy Sanctuary Death Element Great Wizard keenly noticed someone inside the castle summoning undead creatures!

”What? Has Brittania been infiltrated to such an extent by vampires?” Theodore Bruckner was very surprised but not at all panicked. He always had full confidence in Elspeth, as long as the Tomb Rose appeared, it was a guarantee of victory. Whenever Nuer and Weisen Territory faced crisis, as long as she was around, any situation could be turned from peril to safety.

Death Magic and Undead Magic are not the same magic.

Death Magic is one of the Magic Eight Winds, while Undead Magic was researched and summarized into new Black Magic by Master of the Undead Nagash from the Dark Elf’s Dark Magic. To summarize, Death Magic is magic that lets living beings rest in peace, while Undead Magic ensures living beings cannot rest in peace; although they share commonality, they are mortal enemies.
