Warhammer Divine Throne

Chapter 964: Chapter 420: A Temporary End

The appearance of the Black Chalice Knights blocked almost all the Sea God Knights attempting to pursue the infiltrator. The terrifying strength of these Black Chalice Knights was evident in a single encounter—a Sea God Knight tried to attack, and with ease, the Black Chalice Knight deflected the Sea God Knight’s trident with a single motion. He turned sideways, and the lance in his hand, emanating a dark aura, pierced directly through the armor of this Sea God Knight.

This Sea God Knight was pinned to the ground, a tremendous pain causing him to scream. Yet, the Black Chalice Knight remained silent, abandoning the notion of finishing off this Sea God Knight. He released his cavalry lance, drew his sword and shield, and the black chalice emblem on the shield was the greatest insult and ridicule to the Brittania Knights.

The Undead Warhorse snorted white smoke, and the charge of three Black Chalice Knights was as powerful as that of a hundred Sea God Knights. The cavalry lance array formed by the Sea God Knights clashed with the Black Chalice Knights. Amidst the sounds of metal cutting and warhorses neighing, the Sea God Knights shouted Manannan’s holy name, fearlessly charging at the Black Chalice Knights.

In the first encounter, more than a dozen Sea God Knights were unhorsed, while these three Black Chalice Knights remained unscathed.

”Black Chalice Knights.” Duke of Connet Lorne donned a cross helmet, wore gleaming armor, and held the Lion’s Spear, his face grave: ”Return, knights, come back, you are no match for them!”

”So those are the Black Chalice Knights?” Laine also raised his Mjolnir. He had fought a Black Chalice Knight before, and he remembered his name: Honore de Lys.

The Black Chalice Knights before him differed from the one in his memory. These knights had their faces concealed within helmets, unlike Honore de Lys, whom Laine defeated. Even in desecration, Honore de Lys retained certain traits, while these three Black Chalice Knights had completely lost their minds. They were like killing machines, reaping the lives of Sea God Knights and guards.

”Indeed, those are the Black Chalice Knights! During the assault on Musillon, I dueled a Black Chalice Knight. That cursed posture was the greatest desecration to the Lady, but never underestimate their power. Desecrated and resurrected, they are even stronger than before!” Lorne-Rio Cornwall gripped his cavalry lance tightly and began his charge.

”I’m coming too!” Laine tugged at the reins of his Pure-blooded Elf Warhorse Grapes, charging forth. Amidst the night breeze and the smell of blood, he engaged with a Black Chalice Knight head-on.

”Clang!” Laine’s Warhammer radiated intense heat, instantly knocking the Black Chalice Knight off his horse. The hammerhead clashing on the Black Chalice emblem of the shield emitted a metal-twisting sound.

Laine, already a Great Knight with Holy Sanctuary strength, delivered a strike capable of shattering the toughest steel. Yet, this Black Chalice Knight, aside from being knocked off his horse, had almost no reaction, as if truly dead. He remained silent and insensible, acting like a true veteran, flipping up to confront Laine.

From the corner of his eye, Laine noticed Duke Bodric and his son jointly facing a Black Chalice Knight, while Lorne-Rio Cornwall was also engaged in battle with another. The Lion’s Spear clashed with the black cavalry lance of the Black Chalice Knight on the dark street, under the yellow magic lamp glow. Lorne’s face bore a fervor Laine had never seen before. It’s said that since seeing the Black Chalice Knights, the Duke of Connet vowed to destroy these desecrated knights to repay the Lady’s blessings.

But now it’s Laine’s turn. He raised his Warhammer, an overwhelming force crashing onto the Black Chalice Knight’s shield ahead, each strike embedding the knight’s body deep into the ground.

The Black Chalice Knight’s shield withstood Laine’s three heavy blows before the black sword in his hand slashed directly at Laine’s mount, Grapes. The Pure-blooded Elf Warhorse reared to dodge, its massive iron hooves kicking hard, striking the Black Chalice Knight’s Cross Dragon Wing Helmet. Subsequently, Laine raised Mjolnir, and under his control, the hammer’s shaft released a Spiritual Storm.

Silver lightning enveloped the Black Chalice Knight ahead, then Laine attempted another Warhammer strike on the enemy.

The Black Chalice Knight didn’t halt his steps, resiliently rising amid the lightning, emitting a burnt smell. The undead, with the sound of burning corpse oil, were not hindered by the Spiritual Storm. He flipped up, stomping heavily onto the ground with his red-black iron boots, creating a crater on the cobblestone road.

Laine felt a chill in his heart. He understood why the Black Chalice Knights were so formidable.

After desecrating the remains and souls of the Holy Grail Knights, evil undead managed to erase their consciousness, turning them into pure killing machines. Then, through the eternal life of vampires, they cultivated them into these tireless, fearless, painless Super Soldiers.

Thus, Black Chalice Knights are even stronger than ordinary Holy Grail Knights!
