Chapter 961: Chapter 419: Fierce Battle in the Forecourt

The situation was gradually deteriorating, and Mathew Bade was sweating profusely. He couldn’t understand why Farah had dropped the ball at such a critical moment.

Why was there a Death Element Grand Mage at the banquet? In the entire Brittania, apart from the Lake God Witch Mogiana who had Holy Sanctuary level power, there were only two Lake God Prophets left: one was the Chief Lady-in-Waiting and lover of Bohemond, and the other was the head of the Saintess Order stationed in Kulona!

Holy Sanctuary Grand Mages are not as common as cabbages; at this level, even top Great Nobles would treat these mages as honored guests, allocating large sums of money for them to build Wizard Towers and conduct magic research because they could change the entire battle situation single-handedly.

In the empire across the mountains, there are more Holy Sanctuary level Grand Mages, but not more than ten!

So here’s the problem! Why was there a Death Element Holy Sanctuary Grandmaster at today’s banquet?

But he didn’t have much time to think. Due to Akhan’s guidance, Mathew Bade immediately realized that after repeated failed summons, the opponent’s Death Element Holy Sanctuary Grand Mage would quickly discover the location of the undead mage!

He thought for a moment, then said with a serious expression to the necromancer, ”In that case, stay here. I’ll go check the situation outside. If things look bad, we’ll retreat immediately.”

”Yes.” The Necromancer knew the seriousness of the situation and nodded repeatedly.

Mathew Bade quickly exited the room, let out a few cold laughs, and then crossed the garden, running toward the corner tower on the other side of the banquet.

The plan had failed.

No matter, he still had plan B.

The Court Wizard was dead, and now the magic barrier protecting the castle was gone. Evading the search and escaping wouldn’t be too difficult. Thinking of this, Mathew Bade’s stunningly handsome face suddenly showed some hesitation.

Should he go find Fiona?

After thinking for a moment, Mathew Bade changed direction and ran into the castle.

Sure enough, only a few minutes had passed before the Holy Grail Knights in the banquet hall fully donned their armor. The Death Element Holy Sanctuary Grand Mage Elspeth pointed in a certain direction inside the castle: ”The Necromancer is there!”

”Go! Knights, follow me!” Holy Grail Knight Fedmond led a large group of Sea God Knights in that direction. Laine, with the help of Amelia and Surya, donned the Grey Knight Spiritual Masterwork Power Armor, hung the Goddess of Revenge behind him, and raised Mjolnir: ”I’m ready!”

”Move out!”

Duke Bohemond and Duke Bodric and others stayed back to oversee, while Lorne and Laine led many knightly nobles who had come to the scene, charging towards the necromancer’s location.

At this time, in the corner of the castle where the former Boldro Court Wizard resided, the necromancer Farah was still trying to summon the Black Chalice Knight, while waiting for Mathew Bade to confirm the situation outside. This necromancer was still pondering, thinking that Mathew Bade might not be Akhan’s ideal candidate after all.

Farah knew that Akhan had adopted this abandoned baby in the wild when he came to Brittania to seek the ”Staff of Nagash” and raised him to adulthood. The Witch Demon King’s life would have no end, so naturally, there was no need for a successor, but Mathew Bade was undoubtedly assigned some sort of mission by Akhan and sent to Brittania.

The footsteps outside woke Farah from his thoughts. The footsteps were dense and chaotic, causing the necromancer to stand up in surprise. Something was off!

Several minutes had passed. What was Mathew Bade doing? Had the Black Chalice Knights made it in?

”The necromancer is here! Knights! Prepare for battle!” Farah wasn’t met by Mathew Bade but instead by the large group of knights and regiment led by Holy Grail Knight Fedmond.

I’ve been betrayed!

The necromancer suddenly realized he had been betrayed.

Mathew Bade had actually sold him out and escaped!

”Oh no!” Fedmond saw Farah’s figure. The guards at the door had already fallen, leaving the necromancer standing in the middle, while the Boldro Court Wizard died miserably in the room: ”We’re late, but revenge is never late! Pay the price, undead, may the Lady grant us victory!”

”May the Lady grant us victory!” The knights charged into the room one after another, surging towards the necromancer Farah.

”You shall not defeat me!” The necromancer, knowing he had been betrayed, released an alarming shriek. He raised the goat-bone magic staff, pointing directly at Fedmond: ”Nagash’s Gaze!”

A purple-black ray of spell light shot from Farah’s eyes directly at Fedmond. The Holy Grail Knight immediately dodged, but a Sea God Knight behind him was instantly hit, his flesh stripped from his body, bones necrosed, and armor corroded into a pool of molten metal.

The air burned, the necromancer’s spell so powerful that it could strip mortal flesh with a single blow.

But the knights of Brittania did not fear. The Lady’s knights had continually proven their loyalty and faith to the Lady through their actions for a thousand years, even at the cost of blood-stained battlefields. Fedmond swiftly approached Farah, original courage surging within him, swearing to take the necromancer’s head as a tithe to the Fairy of the Lake.
