Warhammer Divine Throne

Teresa didn’t like Catherine, just as she didn’t like Veronica, but in front of everyone, the female sorcerer still gave Catherine a smile: ”Hello, Catherine.”

The hall on the first floor had exquisite white walls, murals, oak tables and chairs, large floor lamps, and wooden floors. On the first floor, all the witch apprentices were lined up in two rows to greet Laine and the others. Each one of them was a beauty, mostly aged between nine and eighteen. Seeing this, Laine asked: ”When did they arrive?”

Veronica had already mentioned to Laine that the Jialan Parliament Speaker Margarita would send a team of witch apprentices to Veronica. This was both an internship to increase these witch apprentices’ exposure to the outside world and a gesture of goodwill towards Laine.

”Probably... everyone arrived the night before last.” Catherine nodded, her small face slightly flushed: ”A total of seventeen witch apprentices and two official witches came here. The wizard tower was just completed, and many things need cleaning up. We have only just moved in, and it is estimated that it will take a week to get everything in order.”

”And Veronica?” Laine understood. As soon as he finished speaking, a charming voice came from the stairs on the second floor: ”Oh! Darling, you’re here?”

Veronica was wearing a half-arc neckline dress with black pearl slits. Her sweet face wore a faint smile, and her black-brown shoulder-length hair fell over her shoulders. Wood elf gemstone earrings swayed in the air. She moved lightly, her black silk legs faintly visible beneath her skirt, her slender silk feet in black velvet pointed high-heeled shoes. The Jialan Witch was adorned with various gemstone jewelry. Her beautiful almond eyes first looked affectionately at Laine, then provocatively at Teresa with a glance: ”Hello everyone, welcome to my Dawn Wizard Tower.”

Teresa gritted her silver teeth, Veronica lifted her chin, and the two female members of Jialan locked eyes, sparks flying.

Seeing this, Laine laughed secretly. With his support and help, Veronica had finally fulfilled her long-held desire, successfully owning her own wizard tower and having her own unique witch training system. In some ways, she had already overshadowed Teresa.

Indeed, this time it was Veronica’s turn to be proud. When Laine had not yet made a name for himself, Veronica had made a big bet on him. The Jialan Witch not only poured everything she had into Laine but also offended more than half of the Elder Council and the majority of female parliamentarians. As for attracting Speaker Margarita’s attention after Laine’s rise, that was a later matter.

Laine could imagine how much pressure Veronica had to endure in the parliament to persist. Laine himself often traveled and battled outside, spending most of his time away from Veronica.

So, this is what she deserves. Veronica gave so much for Laine, and Laine repaid her as much. This wizard tower is Laine’s reward. Seeing the two witches at loggerheads, Laine did not prevent it but changed the topic: ”Show us around, Veronica.”

”Okay.” Veronica knew it was enough to be satisfied for a moment. All of Laine’s knights were present, and she also had to give her man some face: ”Come, let me show you around.”

The first floor was the hall and storage room and was still being cleaned, so there wasn’t much to see. The second floor was the storeroom and dining room. Normally, the witch apprentices would eat here. With the help of magic, Veronica had established an ”icehouse” specifically for storing ingredients.

These things were actually not very special, and everyone didn’t pay too much attention to them.

When Laine and the others, led by Veronica, arrived at the laboratories and magic workshops on the third and fourth floors, the knights finally began to be amazed.

The laboratory was filled with various glass bottles, white walls, clean sinks, vent hoods, test tubes, and various magic tools and magic vessels arranged within it. Veronica, holding Laine’s arm, introduced to everyone: ”This is the laboratory, where apprentices will brew and distill magic potions.”

”Magic potions? Oh my, lady above, this is the first time I’ve seen the making of magic potions!” Kingdom Knight Armand was very interested in observing a round glass distillation tube, underneath which an alcohol lamp constantly heated a golden liquid inside. The liquid was boiling, golden droplets joyously leaping about.

In Brittania, the existence of magic was not uncommon. Some dukes, like Francois, chose to believe in the Lake God Prophets and Lake Goddess Saintesses. The Saintess Order sent these beautiful and powerful Lake God Prophets to provide magical answers to the dukes. However, these Lake God Prophets were not bound by law and often interfered with local affairs. Francois, being a Holy Grail Knight, could withstand the pressure and even bring these Lake God Prophets into his court, turning them into his female courtiers.

But not every duke is a Holy Grail Knight.

Therefore, not all dukes liked to seek the help of the Lake God Prophets. Several dukes, like the Duke of Boldro, the Duke of Borelion, and the Duke of Leonais, chose to hire court mages from outside. These court mages were either wizards graduating from the Imperial Royal Wizard Academy or wizards from the Southern Kingdom Wizard Alliance.
