Warhammer Divine Throne

”Every knight of Brittania forms the entire kingdom’s noble system. To command all the kingdom’s knights isn’t about holding the title of King, but about whether you can earn the respect and allegiance of the entire kingdom.” Francois sat in the chair, speaking softly to Laine, ”Authority lies below, not above; otherwise, the king’s title is just a castle in the air.”

”So, during the Knightly War in Arden Forest, I advised you to step back because at that time you didn’t have much leverage. But this time, I think you should advance. The Blood Red Duke has brought us too many painful memories; your assassination of him is what everyone hoped for. You deserve to get what you want; otherwise, all the kingdom’s knights will have their opinions. Richard originally had only a pitiful amount of authority. If he’s smart, he’ll know that not only should you be rewarded this time, but your promotion should also be exceptional. This is the only way to satisfy the kingdom’s nobility. We should advance, Laine.” Francois smiled.

”I see.”

Within the city, Laine and Francois were in a secret discussion; outside the city, in the camp of the vampire army.

Manfred clutched his chest in pain. The Vampire Count, stabbed in the back, was left with a horrific wound across his chest, white purifying flame seeping through his bones and decayed skin into his body relentlessly. No matter what method the Vampire Count tried, he could not extinguish this terrible flame. Finally, when the flames burned close to his heart, Manfred had no choice but to make a sacrifice — he ripped the burning flesh off and panted heavily.

”The Red Duke is dead, his soul destroyed; he can never resurrect again.” The death of the Red Duke shook the entire vampire power structure in Musillon, forcing Witch Demon King Akhan to rush to the front line immediately.

”Laine Macado and his companions have been teleported into Turis Castle!” Manfred clutched his chest, the vampire count had a huge terrifying wound across his chest, he struggled to say, ”The siege weapons are destroyed, we can’t take Turis Castle!”

”Ahhh! It’s Laine Macado again!” Witch Demon King Akhan leaned on his magic staff, his tone filled with anger, ”Time and again, he ruins my plans… The team that killed the Red Duke must have been taken out by him as well.”

”He’s injured now, trapped in Turis Castle… Akhan, this is an opportunity, a good opportunity. The war has failed, but we still have a chance to make this country feel pain, especially to make Laine Macado feel pain!” Manfred shouted unwillingly, and he presented a suggestion: ”We will now break camp overnight, traverse Charon Forest, and we will massacre the entire Laine Macado’s domain! We will give him unforgettable painful memories!”

Witch Demon King Akhan hesitated; the blue flame in his eyes flickered back and forth, indecisive. Turis Castle had tens of thousands of troops, elite city defenses, and dwarf cannons, with Francois, a Holy Grail Knight of the Holy Sanctuary level, garrisoning the place. The Green Knight had just made an appearance as well; there was no way they could take Turis Castle.

On the contrary, the elite forces of Baron Gene’s Domain had all been deployed, leaving the domain defenseless, and even Laine himself was on the front line.

Moreover, Witch Demon King Akhan had long suspected that Mogiana might be recuperating within Baron Gene’s Domain.

Akhan’s heart swayed, and seeing Manfred’s determination, he finally nodded, ”Do as you say.”

”But before that, let’s find a way to deceive the garrison.”

......

At the same time, within Charon Forest, three beams of golden light descended from the sky. On the forest floor, Angerong, the World-Devourer Gene Primordial, was waiting below with two members of the Emperor’s Guard, ”Father, Lord Kaur, and… Kiliman?”

The majestic figure of the Master of Humans landed on the ground, his expression solemn, an aura of supreme authority swirling around him. Kiliman, the Primarch of the Ultimate Warrior, issued a cry of disbelief, ”An... Angerong? Oh my... I... I really don’t know what to say...”

Seeing Angerong had returned to his original form, Kiliman was somewhat tearful.

”Hey, Kiliman, you’re a regent now; why are you still so emotional like that foppish Fugen?” Angerong was in high spirits as he gave Kiliman an enthusiastic hug, ”It’s great to see you, my brother.”

Inside the massive machinery, the now-demonic Fugen continued to scream in agony.

”I’m also… very glad, Angerong.” Kiliman also warmly embraced him. Angerong slapped Kiliman’s shoulder hard, causing a noise to echo from the masterwork power armor.

”Where is Laine?” The Emperor, seeing his two sons embrace, had a slight ripple of emotion in his eyes and turned away.

”Laine has gone to the front lines to face the vampire army.” Angerong let go of Kiliman and said to the Master of Humans.

”... It’s fine. We’ve come here for other matters; no rush to return. Waiting a few days is no big deal.” The Emperor said calmly.

”Then come with me, I recently got some fat tuna, along with some coffee beans from the south.” Angerong then invited everyone to follow him. The two guards carried the giant sealed instrument containing Fugen and followed them.

The group arrived at the safe house in the Forest Creek Valley; the sky was already lightening. Angerong led the Emperor and others to sit in the outdoor courtyard beside a creek, boiled water, then ground the coffee beans, serving two steaming cups of coffee to the Emperor and Kiliman, ”Here, Father, Kiliman.”

In the early summer, with birds chirping, and flowers blooming, a gentle breeze swept through the woods. Kiliman lifted his cup contentedly, drank a mouthful of coffee, and sighed deeply, ”So beautiful, I feel like I’ve returned to Makulage.”

The Emperor then assessed Angerong’s collection, seeing heads placed all around. He picked up his coffee cup and drank a mouthful. Even for the Master of Humans, it had been many years since he had tasted original coffee, ”Not bad, Angerong, you can make coffee now.”

”Really? Hehehe!” Angerong grinned like a child who had been praised, desperately seeking praise and recognition from his father, which was quite incongruous for a man over two meters tall, yet Angerong genuinely behaved like a child.

After a while, the guards served a large pot of milky white fish soup on the wooden table.

”Try my cooking, Father, Kiliman. This is tuna head soup, and the grilled fish steaks will be ready soon.”
