Warhammer Divine Throne

Inside the meeting room, the Lake God Witch Mogiana sat at the head position. Her complexion was still very weak, and it was only with the support of Ollica and Surya that she managed to walk in, dressed in a blue long dress, she sat by listening in.

Upon seeing Mogiana enter, all the knights and nobles in the room stood up to show respect. Seeing Mogiana’s fragile appearance, the knights felt very sad and then rose to an endless hatred towards the vampires and tree spirits.

”You discuss among yourselves, I’ll just listen in. The remaining matters are left to you,” Mogiana slowly nodded and then gave Laine a glance. Laine understood: ”Begin, my Duke.”

Francois nodded in understanding.

A huge map was placed in the middle of the table. Laine first introduced the situation: ”The vampire army has already mobilized. According to the scouts’ report, the number of this vampire army is about twenty thousand. They are currently stationed by the Grismore River, led by the Red Duke. Excepting the large number of zombie legions, the most elite unit within this army is two teams of Blood Knights personally led by the Blood Red Duke himself, one team of desecrated Black Chalice Knights, several battalions of Desolate Tomb Guards, a few hundred Bloodthirsty Celestial Ghosts, and a group of Bloodthirsty Bat Wolves. In addition, several hundred Undead Knights are heading to the front lines.”

”Duke Boldro Bodrick is leading five infantry corps and about two thousand knights facing across the river at Turis Castle against the vampire army. Among them, without a doubt, the most elite unit is the Sea God Knights. The castle’s defenses are strong, and Lord Bodrick has deployed several catapults to assist in defense. The vampire army has engaged with Lord Bodrick several times, but lacking heavy siege equipment, the Red Duke currently lacks the ability to breach Turis Castle.”

Looking at the map, several people understood the situation. Francois whispered, ”The situation doesn’t look so optimistic; Bodrick’s army is too small, and if the fight against the undead is prolonged, they will grow more numerous.”

Everyone frowned, seemingly looking at the grim prospects of this war.

”The information I received is that Lord Bodrick once tried to lead the Sea God Knights out of the castle to attack from the rear but was repelled by the Blood Knights. Subsequently, he has been holding the castle, waiting for reinforcements,” Jerald’s voice was heavy: ”We must rush to Turis to support Bodrick in time, otherwise, he may not be a match for the Red Duke.”

Yuri’s expression didn’t seem as grave. On the contrary, this Kingdom Knight seemed eager for the imminent war: ”Then let us head straight to Turis to support Lord Bodrick!”

”Laine, what do you think?” Francois instead asked Laine.

Laine focused his gaze on Turis Castle. Across the river from Turis Castle, to the east is Musillon, and to the west is the Sharp-Top Palace. Duke Boldro certainly picked a strategic location. Whether advancing from Musillon or from the Sharp-Top Palace, one must pass through Turis Castle. He pondered for a moment and then said, ”Our numbers are at a disadvantage. Just supporting directly like this, we will still remain in a disadvantageous position.”

The crowd nodded.

”I have a plan,” Laine said softly, ”This may require everyone’s help and cover...”

......

The next day, Francois led over two thousand reinforcements on the move. The Duke brought most of his army and also included two hundred elites from Laine’s Territory. Additionally, for the first time in hundreds of years within the Winford army, dwarves appeared. The dwarves traveled on foot, slower relative to the knights, but the dwarves are a race that can march continuously, able to eat and drink on the road without pause. A dozen dwarves not only weren’t left behind, rather, they ran to the front of the formation.

Laine and Jerald did not appear in the lineup, and Surya was left at Baron Gene’s Domain. Conversely, Francois brought out all of Laine’s Ranger Knights except Angerong, and his son Julius was also by his side.

A black Dwarf Heavy Cannon was placed on a cart, pulled by three sturdy mules, and the Dwarf Engineer Dugen the Ironman followed behind the animals, laboriously riding on the back of a wild boar.

This was a transaction between him and Ranger Knight Angerong. He made a heavy four-barrel hand cannon for Angerong, which, when loaded with mercury bullets, can inflict massive damage at close range. The price Angerong paid was capturing a strong young wild boar for the engineer, which Dugen spent considerable effort taming into his mount.

The structure of the wild boar differs from that of a horse, but that was no obstacle for Dugen. He specially crafted a saddle for the wild boar, then proudly sat on its back, becoming a Dwarf Wild Boar Engineer Knight.

Francois’s gaze continuously swept over that Dwarf Heavy Cannon; the massive cannon, its pitch-black barrel, and golden patterns all signified the exquisite craftsmanship of the dwarves. The Dwarf Heavy Cannon was shorter and thicker compared to the Empire’s cannon, but in terms of range and power, it surpassed the Empire’s by a notch. It also wasn’t particularly cumbersome to transport; compared to catapults which required 5-8 large carts to transport and took hours to assemble at the destination, the dwarven artillery was exceedingly convenient.
