Warhammer Divine Throne

The time is approaching summer, in Brittania, Baron Gene’s Domain, Baron Castle.

Marchioness Surya is sitting behind the desk, this is where Laine usually works.

The lady knight is dressed in a white Brittania marquis shirt and a pink-purple pencil skirt, her long legs wrapped in thin gray stockings, her feet wearing fluffy bear slippers. Her bright golden long curls almost cover her entire back, and her dignified and noble beauty carries a hint of seriousness. Laine has left, and the affairs of the territory have been completely handed over to the lady knight. Surya can feel Laine’s trust, not only moved but also pressured.

The stand-in left by Laine is not very reliable; he displays a clumsy acting skill. Surya chooses to personally take over military and political power. The stand-in spends most of his time inside the castle as a mascot, occasionally appearing, but he can’t even act the basic knightly demeanor, let alone the heroic aura of Laine.

A lord’s control over a domain is inversely proportional to the time he leaves the territory, but Laine is different. He left behind an effective squad and then handed over power completely to Surya. The lady knight holds a very high prestige within Laine’s domain, and her orders are unimpeded.

”Miss, this is the recent inflow of population.” Kasenberg still addresses her as Miss, as always.

”Organize it, I need to know how many craftsmen, peasants, and free people are among these migrants. I want a detailed report by tonight,” Surya said calmly.

”Yes.” The steward responded and left.

”Miss, there are people in the domain violently resisting taxation, I’ve already taken people to capture them, how should we deal with this?” Tax Officer Gaspardon reported the situation within the territory.

A large number of outsiders mixed with good and bad intentions, many migrants simply came for Gene Territory’s generous benefits and don’t want to work seriously.

”How did Laine handle this kind of thing before?” Surya put down the document, her golden hair hanging down from her ears, the lady knight pondering over the matter, her skin like milk glimmering with a captivating gleam under the sunlight.

”The Baron would put the ringleaders to gallows, imprison a portion for hard labor, and disperse those not involved to all villages,” Gaspardon said cautiously.

”With Laine not here... Like this, everyone involved in violently resisting taxation will be executed on the gallows, those not involved will be assigned to hard labor. The mines in the domain just need manpower to develop new tunnels, instruct Mr. Angerong and Mr. Delong that the people sent to them are for work, not to be killed.” Without Laine, things must be stricter, Surya immediately decided.

”Yes.” The tax officer also left.

By the afternoon, internal affairs within the Baron’s Domain were fully handled. The lady knight, proficient in Brittania’s laws and adept at invoking Laine’s methods of handling matters, her arrangements received unanimous praise from the dominion’s people.

Time approached around four o’clock in the afternoon, the door was pushed open, Ollica, dressed in a maid outfit, pushed a dining cart in, the Dark Elf Maid looking in a casual manner: ”Your Grace Surya, afternoon tea is ready.”

The cart carried many pastries and a pot of tea.

”Miss, take a break,” Maid Sylvia also entered from outside, the girl wearing a standard noble attire of a dark red coat and white shirt: ”Amelia also came.”

The lovely maid, also dressed in a maid outfit, entered from the doorway.

The three girls came to the meeting table, Ollica served them tea and pastries: ”Please enjoy.”

”Miss, the territory’s situation is generally stable recently, most people probably haven’t discovered that the Baron has already left,” Sylvia first presented the situation, ”The only thing somewhat unnerving is that almost all the knights in the territory followed His Grace the Duke and left. If someone really invades, without knights, our defense might not be very optimistic.”

”Hmm, I will arrange enough Rangers to patrol, to prevent Rogue Knights from affecting the territory’s safety.” Surya raised her tea, her cherry red lips gently tasting the tea: ”For now, no need to worry too much, both Wood Elves and Dwarves sent people assuring that they will stand with us, besides, there’s Mr. Angerong.”

Remembering Angerong, who single-handedly wiped out an entire squad of Blood Knights, the three girls felt reassured. Amelia jested: ”Still calling him Mr. Angerong? Surya Sister, shouldn’t you call him Angerong Brother?”

With a jade complexion blushing, the lady knight quickly responded: ”This... isn’t it still not the time?”

”Ollica, you’re the closest to Laine, can you tell us why you went to Marinburg? Was it because of the war?” Amelia held a Wood Elf ceramic teacup, dressed in a shirt and skirt.

Upon hearing this, both Surya and Sylvia turned around, the lady knight keenly observing Ollica’s beautiful figure, the maid outfit perfectly harmonizing a natural allure and elegance on her body. Surya’s ocean blue eyes carried a hint of mischievousness: ”Can you share? Ollica? I’m actually interested too.”

With amber eyes of the Dark Elf uncomfortably looking towards another direction: ”I failed in the war and was captured by High Elves...”

The presence of the lady knight gave considerable pressure to the Dark Elf, she seems to have advanced into Legendary.

”Is that so?” Surya raised her teacup, with a faint smile on the lady knight’s face: ”Nothing else?”
