Warhammer Divine Throne

”Please wait, my Baron.” At this moment, the Demon Hunter Abel had a different opinion.

”Do you have a better idea, Abel?” Laine had already taken out the warhammer.

”My Baron, you must be carrying Winford’s fine wine, right? Could you lend me a bottle? It doesn’t have to be the best grape wine; I need a good butter beer, or malt beer would do,” the Demon Hunter said respectfully.

”Of course, I have some.” Laine took out a bottle of premium malt beer, made from the first brew of malt, a high-end luxury.

Abel took the malt beer, shook it lightly, and smiled, ”My Baron, mercenaries from the Southern Realm indeed have strong combat power, are well-equipped, and are fearless, but they have a fatal weakness, which is that they cannot resist the temptation of fine wine. Especially this kind of premium malt beer, even the best-trained mercenaries will throw all rules and duties out the window when they see it.”

”Interesting, let’s give it a try,” Laine agreed to the suggestion.

The discipline of mercenaries is indeed inferior to that of regular armies; they never fight or perform tasks for honor or higher status; they only care about money and the fun after completing tasks.

Abel gently opened the bottle cap of the malt beer, then placed the malt beer on a hardwood pile.

He and Ju Le hid behind the shadow of the hardwood pile, signaling everyone to remain quiet.

Two minutes later, three mercenaries passed by this place.

”What a lovely aroma! That is... the smell of malt beer!” A big male mercenary with the sharpest nose exclaimed, his eyes shining as he followed the rich malt aroma to find a glass beer bottle in front of him: ”Look, a bottle of malt beer! So fragrant, this must be a premium malt beer!”

”Oh heavens, Fernando, what are you doing? Oh! Heavens, it’s premium malt beer!” Another tall mercenary walked up from behind, and the rich, pure aroma made his mouth water with delight, his parched mouth immediately secreting a large amount of saliva: ”Whose is this, left here?”

”Who knows, maybe a vampire, maybe some guy left it, anyway, it’s mine now!” The three mercenaries stopped, and the big mercenary lifted the glass bottle, trying to test it for poison with a silver needle.

The attention of the other two mercenaries was already completely focused on the poison testing action of the big mercenary, their gazes following the glass bottle and silver needle.

A gloved hand covered the mercenary’s mouth from behind, a dagger slipped across, problem solved.

”Indeed, no poison. Ready to enjoy our extra supper from today’s patrol?” The tall mercenary retrieved the silver needle from the glass bottle, saying happily.

No one answered him.

”You guys...” The big mercenary sensed something wrong and just turned around when Abel fiercely twisted his head, forcefully turning it.

”Crack.” The mercenary Fernando’s neck was snapped, lifeless, and the three mercenaries’ bodies were dragged away.

After a while, another group of mercenaries passed by: ”Hey! Brothers, what’s that? What fragrance?”

......

After over ten minutes, seven or eight bodies were already piled behind the hardwood pile.

”Acting like this is certainly unethical, I would never do such a thing.” Jerald watched as the Demon Hunter continually ambushed mercenaries, feeling truly unworthy of his company.

”Nor would I, which is why we need Demon Hunters, just like we need Peasant Archers in war,” Laine whispered with a smile.

Jerald nodded, accepting this explanation.

Pulling out a bloodied steel sword, Abel nodded, indicating that everyone could come out: ”One bottle of wine, four patrol teams, that’s the limit.”

”Very well, let’s move on.” Under cover of night, Laine and the group continued toward the siege tower’s location.

When they were about 350 meters from the siege tower, Veronica reached out her small hand to gently tug on Laine’s shirt: ”Darling? It’s time.”

Laine was about to say it wasn’t even under 300 meters yet, but then, the Divine Chosen Champion of the Lake Fairy realized something: ”You’ve grown stronger, my Great Witch.”

”Cover me, Laine.” Veronica stood in place, beginning to chant spells.

Laine had abandoned his hiding, standing naturally. Everyone’s gaze fixed on him, as the night’s wind carried the scent of wood and earth: ”Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for your support and help in this mission. Reaching this point successfully is inseparable from everyone’s staunch support.”

”Now, my plan has reached the final step. Next, let us bring death and destruction to those vampires, spread the glory of the Lady over the land, and bring victory back to Brittania!” Laine raised his warhammer and roared: ”For the Lady!”

”For the Lady!”

”For Charlemagne!”

”For the God of Justice!”

”For Kunos!”

”For Asuyan!”

The squad’s battle cry was not very neat, but the loud battle cry still alarmed the Mercenary Corps and vampires within the camp.

”Who goes there?!” The Mercenary Corps reacted immediately: ”There’s an enemy!”

Too late.

In the sky, a meteor with a diameter of more than ten meters flew out from the dark night sky, carrying a mighty force, descending directly from the sky. The meteor emitted scorching airwaves, flashing dazzling red light, drawing an arc in the sky and landing in the middle of the camp.

”Boom!!!” The meteor exploded in the camp, dozens of Vampire Guards and a dozen mercenaries including the Mercenary Corps leader were killed on the spot. The huge explosion shattered the siege tower under construction, rock fragments scattered, hardwood burned, and rolling dust engulfed the entire camp.

”Enemy attack! It’s the Flame Element Legendary Wizard!” ”Help! My leg is broken, my leg is broken!” The mercenaries were stunned by the meteor’s attack, and the entire Mercenary Corps was thrown into chaos.

”Ice Cone Technique!” At the same time, the female sorcerer also began casting spells, frost energy surrounded her magic staff continuously, sharp ice cones freezing two nearby charging mercenaries.

”Ice Spear Technique.” Teresa once again chanted the Ice Spear Technique, and the two frozen mercenaries were thus shredded into pieces.

”Fight!” Laine raised his Griffin Warhammer, and as the warhammer fell from the sky, two mercenaries were smashed into meat paste. Jerald held a shield, wielding a sharp sword, chanting the name of the Lake Fairy, the sharp sword piercing through a mercenary’s chest: ”For the Lady!”

Demon Hunter Abel and Ju Le wielded steel swords, their steps as graceful as ballet, but each strike could kill fragile mercenaries, targeting the mercenaries’ weak armor on their necks, arms, wrists, and underarms.

”Flaming Skull!” Veronica’s casting continued, and with her spell recitation, surrounded by flame energy, a chuckling flaming skull appeared in the camp. With a spine-chilling laugh, this flaming skull, large enough to stretch over ten meters, rampaged through the camp, leaving behind a trail of destruction, burning all.

The mercenaries’ morale collapsed, they screamed as they tried to flee, but the fire completely blocked their escape routes, setting fire to large amounts of construction materials within the camp. Laine and his team charged toward the location of the siege vehicle, eliminating all mercenaries who couldn’t escape; enemies are enemies, and since they are serving vampires, Laine saw no need to show these people mercy.

Teresa raised her magic staff, clearing a path with frost energy. This burning environment made the female sorcerer extremely uncomfortable, and she complained: ”Veronica, you almost burned us too.”

”Our task is to burn down the entire camp!” Veronica retorted, panting slightly after two consecutive large spells, yet the Jialan Witch maintained considerable magic power reserves.

”Ladies, now is not the time for chatter!” Laine used his warhammer to continuously slay two Vampire Guards attempting to block them.

Not far away, a Vampire Lord, accompanied by two teams of Desolate Tomb Guards and a group of Tomb Evil Ghosts, was desperately trying to put out the fire and save the last two undamaged siege vehicles.

Laine was about to signal an attack on this group of Desolate Tomb Guards and Tomb Evil Ghosts when a hoarse dragon’s roar echoed in everyone’s ears.

Everyone turned to look, and in the fire-lit night sky, a giant Zombie Dragon appeared on the horizon, spewing dragon breath as it quickly approached the camp’s location.

It’s the Red Duke!
