Warhammer Divine Throne

At dawn, when the first ray of morning light shone into the camp, an intense battle was reaching its peak.

The entire camp was filled with battling Beastmen and human armies.

Smoke, fire, ruins, all the humans picked up weapons and fought. Even the Duke’s eldest daughter was fully armed, wielding a Knight’s Sword in both hands, shouting bravely, ”Prepare to die!”

A Long Spear Inferior Horned Beast was sliced in half by the female knight’s Longsword, filthy beast blood splattering her face.

The plate armor on Surya glittered, the enchanted energy forming a thin shield to help her fend off the filthy blood. The female knight raised her Knight’s Sword, chanting the name of the Lake Fairy.

The sword emitted a sacred white radiance, dispelling her fatigue.

Her Knight’s Sword possessed the Lake God Prophet’s enchantment, which could hasten the recovery of her stamina.

”The sky is brightening.” Surya felt both her spirit and stamina were reaching their limits.

She looked up towards the camp.

Tall Centaurs ravaged through the camp with their iron hooves, while Minotaurs wielding War Axes roared loudly, reaping the lives of the peasant soldiers.

Looking up, a Giant Minotaur swung a War Axe towards the female knight. Surya raised her Knight’s Sword to barely deflect it, sparks flying off the blade. Relying on the enchantment and her own wrist strength, Surya barely retreated a few steps to neutralize the strike.

”Miss!” Surya’s maid Sylvia exclaimed. She immediately abandoned her struggle with the Inferior Horned Beast in front of her and rushed to Surya’s side, ”Miss, are you okay?”

”Ugh! Waaah! Humans...die!” The Minotaur snorted, preparing to charge at the two female knights again.

”Surya!” Julius, who was being besieged by several Horned Beasts, saw his sister in peril and cried out anxiously.

Just as the Minotaur began its charge, a Longsword burning with white flames and emitting a faint blue glow pierced through its chest from behind, causing the Minotaur to scream miserably and collapse with a crash. The nearby Ranger Knight stepped in and finished it off with two swift strikes.

”Miss Surya!” Laine, his face sweaty, pulled the Goddess of Revenge from the Minotaur’s body and quickly extended a hand to help the female knight up.

”Lord Laine, thank you.” The female knight managed to stand up with difficulty.

”Protect your lady and fall back!” Laine immediately commanded Sylvia, who nodded and supported Surya in retreating.

”For the Lady! For Winford!” Soldiers of the Winford Escapee Group charged fearlessly, a row of Long Spears thrusting forward to pierce the Inferior Horned Beasts that came to support, blood spilling all over the camp, undistinguishable as either human or beast blood.

Hundreds and thousands of corpses covered the ground.

At around three in the morning, the Beastman Tribe launched another attack on the Right Army led by Laine. This attack was no longer a minor skirmish but a massive assault, with the Horned Beast Group, Great Horned Beasts, Minotaurs, Centaurs, and even Harpies joining the fray.

The knights fought fiercely until dawn, their resilience ensuring the Beastmen could never break this army.

”Woo~ woo woo~” Unable to conquer, the horn sounded endlessly from the depths of the forest. The Beastmen retreated, just as exhausted as the humans from the repeated harassment, realizing another battle would only turn the tide further against them.

This time, the Beastmen truly retreated thoroughly. The knights dispatched scouts, finding no trace of Beastmen within a few kilometers.

Seizing the rare opportunity, the Right Army immediately struck camp and force marched about five kilometers before finding a valley to set up camp. The knights counted their numbers, finding the originally six-thousand-strong army reduced to just over five thousand, with a dozen knights buried in the forest.

After setting up camp, many knights lay down and slept from exhaustion. Once Laine confirmed there were no Beastmen nearby, he seized the opportunity to rest well.

When he was woken, the sky had already dimmed to twilight, approaching dusk.

It was Olivier, the young and optimistic knight, who appeared in bad shape. His face was pale, with sunken eyes, and his left hand hung limply across his chest, clearly injured, ”My Baron, Marquis Gabriel and Marquis Julius are asking if you’re awake. They want to convene a new military council.”

”Alright, I’m coming right away! Olivier, is your injury okay?” Laine scrambled up, took a few deep breaths, and inquired about Olivier’s injury.

”It’s better, after resting for half a day.” Olivier assured him it was nothing serious. The Ranger Knight had been injured by a Beastman’s cleaver during the early morning’s surprise attack.

”Get some proper rest, there are more battles ahead.” Laine turned over, grabbed a basin of clean water, and splashed it on his face.

Emerging from the tent, a gentle breeze blew over the Holy Grail Knight’s face. He saw many wounded lying in the camp moaning in pain, bandaged peasants, the logistics, and accompanying personnel boiling water and cooking meals, while many others simply found a random spot to fall asleep, caring for nothing else.

”Lord Laine!” Many peasant soldiers greeted the Holy Grail Knight enthusiastically upon his appearance.

”You fought well, young lads, hang in there, we can win.” Laine noticed many peasants were wounded, looking at him with hope and adoration. He felt a twinge of sorrow, but encouraged the troops’ morale: ”Hang in there.”
