Warhammer Divine Throne

Laine let her go, the Dark Elf lay beside him, her alluring figure evident even beneath the thick quilt.

”Master, you should gather your own followers, you should write letters to have people from different countries, places, and even races become your subjects,” Ollica hesitated as she spoke. ”The believers of the Lady of the Lake are indeed loyal, but their loyalty may not be to you.”

”Master, you cannot rely too heavily on Her Ladyship, the Lady of the Lake. Although it is true that you are her Divine Chosen, but...” Ollica seemed hesitant. After pondering for a moment, she continued with a gentle tone, ”Your vassals need to be more loyal to you.”

”If you wish, Master, I am willing to help you. I can handle paperwork and other matters, and Duruzi have many ways to ensure the loyalty of your subordinates,” Ollica said cautiously, her black hair spread on the pillow like silk.

”I think your methods might not be effective, or suitable for use here in Brittania,” Laine sat up, saying, ”But I am willing to let you try. For now, help me with some paperwork and give me your suggestions. Let’s see how effective it is.”

”Thank you, Master.” The Dark Elf knew she had gained some initial approval from Laine. She was about to turn away and act as if the conversation had ended, but Laine continued, ”So, surely you have your own request?”

”Yes... Master, please don’t discard me or give me away to others.” Ollica didn’t dare to look at Laine, hiding her face under the quilt.

All this way, she had suffered from the greedy and desirous gazes of humans. Many looked up to her because she was this man’s maid, but if her current status were removed, those gazes would turn into scorn and contempt, and those humans would truly rush forward to claim her.

With her weak strength, she would end up being pinned in a haystack, subjected to various indignities.

Instead of lying here now on a soft velvet bed, wrapped in a golden silk quilt, wearing silk pajamas, without worry for food or clothing.

”Perform well and stay obediently by my side, and I will ensure your safety,” Laine smiled meaningfully. ”When discussing other’s loyalty, you should first consider if you are loyal yourself.”

To this day, he deeply doubted the Dark Elf’s loyalty.

Lost in thought, he raised his head to gaze outside, indicating to Ollica to rest: ”Go to sleep first, someone’s here to see me.”

He had felt a summons from someone since just now.

”Okay, Master!” Ollica quickly wrapped herself in the quilt.

...

After quickly changing into a set of clothes, Laine left the castle alone, riding his horse toward the depths of Charon Forest.

Though he didn’t understand why those people were summoning him at this time, since they had arrived early and summoned him, he knew he should go out to meet them.

Rushing into the dark forest, Laine raised his Warhammer, the bright Light of Spiritual Power dispelling the darkness and sending a signal of response to the outsiders in the forest.

And so, after entering the forest for ten minutes, four tall figures clad in golden helmets and armor appeared before Laine.

They were the Emperor’s Guard sent to assist Laine, each standing three meters tall, clad in golden power armor with pointed helmets, topped with a tuft of red plume.

... It seemed they were barbecuing, as Laine found these four individuals were roasting a deer over a fire, with one guard skinning it, another skewering the meat, and another turning the spit.

Noticing Laine’s arrival, the leader of the Emperor’s Guard cheerfully shouted, ”Welcome! Honorable Primarch, you’ve finally arrived. Ever since we learned that you would be stationed in this place, we’ve been waiting here for over ten days, and now you’ve finally come!”

”Enough talk, Big Guy, quickly let our Primarch join our barbeque party!” one Guard called out, ”Hurry up, or the meat will burn.”

”Coming, coming! Come, Primarch, let’s eat and chat!” The leading Guard enthusiastically patted Laine on the shoulder with enough force to flatten an average person. ”Our little guy grills the best meat among us, by the way, Primarch, did you bring any wine?”

”...” Laine was at a loss for words, opening his mouth, taking a moment before saying, ”I did.”

”Then what are we waiting for? Wine and roast, I haven’t enjoyed this in years!” The three-meter-tall Guard leader quickly pulled Laine to sit down.

And so, the newly appointed Baron Gene inexplicably joined a fragrant night barbeque party.

Ten minutes later.

”Cheers!!!” Four military flasks collided with Laine’s mug, beer foam splashing around.

”It’s been ten thousand years, and I’ve never been this happy. His Majesty told us he has been revived, and we have a new Primarch!” one Guard exclaimed, sitting on a broken tree trunk, removing his helmet to reveal a face that appeared to be in his thirties.

His face bore marks of life’s hardships, yet his spirit remained strong, and he was in high spirits.

So that’s your reason for having a barbecue in my domain? Laine thought, his head filled with frustration.

”How did you find this place?” The four Guards were sent by the Emperor to assist him, so Laine took large gulps of drink and meat, then voiced the question on his mind.
