Warhammer Divine Throne

PS. There’s something going on today, so updating early.

May, Brittania, Baron Gene’s Domain.

Laine is patrolling the territory with Gaspardon and Kasenberg.

Lops is officially titled as one of Laine’s Ranger Knights. Meanwhile, Laine initially planned for Alfred to be titled as well, but the Paladin politely expressed that he still wants to serve the God of Justice.

The Paladin requested a piece of land from Laine and hired people to build a chapel for the God of Justice, starting to spread the faith of the God of Justice among the peasants.

Although Gene Town already has a temple of the Merciful Goddess Shalya, the Merciful Goddess Church had no objection. On one hand, this is because the gods have agreed that faiths should compete fairly without forcibly interfering with each other. On the other hand, the Justice Church and Merciful Goddess Church have always had a good relationship, so the Merciful Goddess Church said nothing about Alfred’s establishment of the chapel.

Apart from this, an excellent wandering knight arrived in Laine’s territory with a recommendation letter from Grand Duke Schultz of Marinburg. His name is Olivier, a relative of the Grand Duke, only twenty-six years old, with outstanding skill, and both his lance and swordsmanship are first-rate. Especially since he is a quality handsome man, with resolute eyes, distinct features, a stubbled jaw adding a touch of mature charm, and well-developed chest muscles that are particularly eye-catching.

He possesses Elite High-Tier standards, and after testing him, Laine found no flaws in his strength, so he immediately titled him as a Ranger Knight.

Thus, Laine now has two Ranger Knights under him, with three more available slots for Ranger Knights and two for Kingdom Knights to confer.

The weather fluctuated, and Laine patrolled his territory along the road with some of his soldiers, with Tax Officer Gaspardon and his new steward Kasenberg following behind.

Unlike many Knight Lords, Laine never travels with many soldiers because the new Baron’s strength is formidable; he doesn’t need others’ protection. With the Baron’s lavish spending, the entire Gene Territory fell into a thick atmosphere of constructing Brittania’s Knight Kingdom’s new countryside. Every few days, new buildings were completed, ancient walls were reinforced, muddy roads were re-founded, Gene Town was expanded, and more wasteland was reclaimed. To protect these lands, the newly titled Ranger Knights Lops and Olivier have already led soldiers to clear many bandits several times.

As for the Beastman Tribe in the northern Charon Forest, due to certain ”special reasons,” there hasn’t been any activity until now, or rather, they never operate near Gene Territory but instead focus on attacking villages along Boldro Duchy and Bastogne Duchy.

This provokes a powerful figure, namely the Red Fire Dragon Family’s Duke of Bastogne ”Beast Butcher” Bohemond. This Holy Sanctuary Tier Holy Grail Knight personally led his knights on horseback, crushing the Beastman tribes testing the edge of danger. After confirming that not a single Beastman scum was lingering within his domain, the Red Dragon Duke returned to his castle for rest.

Seizing this brief moment of peace, Laine personally supervised the progress of many projects.

”My Baron, we’ve been urging these peasants to work with all our might, but no matter how much pressure the soldiers apply, their efficiency isn’t improving,” Gaspardon expressed his difficulties to Laine. ”I can’t understand their laziness, considering the Baron has generously provided them with food!”

”Let’s go over there and take a look, Kasenberg? Continue with your introduction.” So, Laine signaled for the group to return to his castle.

”Yes, my Baron, we were just talking about the previous Baron Gene, Daniel. This knight was favored during the Vampire War about fifty years ago, and thus was appointed as Baron Gene,” Kasenberg’s voice sounded formal and precise, with every word enunciated clearly, ensuring everyone could hear what he was saying. ”Baron Gene was considered an excellent Shock Knight, always using a cavalry lance to fight, earning his glory on the battlefield.”

After two weeks of testing, Laine found that the new steward in front of him was indeed capable, and he was very knowledgeable about the entire Knight Kingdom’s history and various anecdotes, just as Duke Winford had claimed.

”He does sound like an excellent knight. Did he embark on the Path of the Holy Grail?” Laine continued along the packed dirt road, with the locals greeting their lord respectfully. After arriving in the territory, he immediately adopted the same tax rate as Duke of Winford, and his reputation and deeds quickly spread among the locals, earning him their fondness.

”No... As far as I know, Baron Daniel was fully committed to the war against the Greenskins. He followed John II’s army across the Black Mountain Range and Southern Realm, entering the Border Prince’s Domain. By the Evil River, our knights encountered the green tide of evil,” Kasenberg continued recounting past events, with a look of reluctance appearing on Gaspardon’s face.

Laine also knew what happened next. Initially, Brittania’s knights indeed gained a small victory, so the headstrong John II decided to quickly cross the Evil River, seeking a direct battle opportunity with the Greenskins.
