Warhammer Divine Throne

In reality, although his brother verbally refused the Emperor’s assistance, deep down he still hoped the Emperor would send reinforcements to help him. But the Emperor had no interest in playing riddles with his son; a refusal meant no need, so he naturally wouldn’t send any troops.

Thus, things turned out as they are now, with both sides believing they are not at fault. Angerong felt the Emperor had wronged him and his Gladiator comrades, while the Emperor thought, ”You’re the one who refused reinforcements.”

”The Butcher’s Nail has vanished from your body; you are now whole and free, no longer ruled by anger and fury,” the Emperor said calmly. ”You have your new brother, Laine Macado, to thank for this.”

After reshaping his body, the Butcher’s Nail naturally disappeared from Angerong.

”My new brother?” The World-Devourer Primarch was full of confusion. ”Macado?”

The Emperor explained Laine’s role to Angerong.

”Greetings, brother.” Laine stepped forward voluntarily.

”... Either way, thank you, my brother, for freeing me from that madness. I feel much better now.” Angerong had no particular opinion on Laine, then sighed, ”Father, resurrecting me was a mistake! What do you still expect from me?”

”Return, my son,” the Emperor sighed slightly. ”The endless years on the Golden Throne have made me think a lot. I admit I was biased in my vision for your future. The Human Empire has now fallen to this point, and I need your strength.”

”No! You’ll never get my obedience, father!” Angerong loudly countered. ”My honor has been tarnished by you, my hands stained with the blood of countless innocents. I am no longer that Twelfth Legion’s Genetic Primarch!”

”Why revive me? You’ve taken everything from me, and now you want to take my freedom too?”

”My loved ones, my Gladiator brothers and sisters died because of you. Can you understand how I felt at the time? I was alone, transported onto your ship. I watched helplessly as my Gladiators lost their leader. I was in great pain but could do nothing. I broke my oath, the oath with my brothers and sisters to live and die together!”

”Did you send your sparkling Imperial Guard to help me? Did you send your towering Titans to help me? Did you come to my camp as you did with Ruth, Zhuangsen, and Vulcan, to give me a chance to challenge you? Did you save my brothers and sisters and grant them honor? No! No! No! There was nothing! Only Oathbreaker Angerong! Traitor Angerong!”

”Lorgar was right! You are an unfeeling, heartless father! You took away my glorious death, and now you want to take away my glorious rest. You’ve been toying with me all along just because of your needs! And now you hypocritically want to take away my freedom?!”

”No! No! I will never, ever serve you and your Human Empire again! Never!” With that, the World-Devourer Primarch, this indomitable Ironman, punched fiercely at the Emperor’s face.

Laine was stunned by the scene before him.

Newly transformed, Angerong was very weak, and his punch couldn’t harm the Emperor. The Emperor calmly pushed his fist aside and said expressionlessly, ”Calmed down?”

”Hmph!” Angerong retreated, walked to the side of the stone slab, sat down, and said no more.

”Tell me, Angerong, after so much effort to rescue you, will you serve Khorne again?” The Emperor knew Angerong wouldn’t serve him anymore, so he continued to ask. Laine could vaguely sense that his father had murderous intentions.

He absolutely couldn’t allow Angerong to return to serve Khorne and reveal Laine’s secret. If so, the Emperor would not hesitate to kill his own son.

”No, I won’t serve Khorne anymore either. For countless years of endless slaughter, I became a blurred shadow. Other than anger and madness, I remember nothing but killing. This isn’t what I want. Now, I just want to find a place to quietly live my remaining days—no Empire, no Chaos, no... war.” After speaking, Angerong gave a self-deprecating laugh. How could it be possible?

”Choose to return to the Empire, or choose to die here, Angerong. You have only two choices!” The giant sword burning with golden flames was already in the Emperor’s hand. The ruthless father was waiting for his son’s choice.

But the stubborn son refused to answer, merely sitting there motionlessly.

The situation became very tense, and Laine hurriedly intervened to mediate: ”How about this, father? Let brother stay in this world. I happen to need a helper. Brother is very strong and can be of assistance to me.”

Angerong’s hysterical appearance was still vivid in the father’s mind, and the Emperor’s eyes flickered briefly. Finally, the giant sword burning with golden flames was lowered. ”If that’s the case, Angerong, you can stay in this world and lend your brother a hand. I won’t force you to return to the Empire. You know what to do.”

”Hmph!” Angerong snorted again but didn’t oppose, Both the Emperor and Laine knew he had already agreed.
