Necromancer: I Am A Disaster

Upon entering the Dragon King Palace, a surge of mixed auras rushed toward him.

Lin Moyu sensed all kinds of elements, interwoven with Dragonkind auras, tangled together into a chaotic mess.

“This dungeon isn’t normal.”

Lin Moyu instantly sensed something off.

Unlike typical dungeons designed to be cleared repeatedly by countless class users, this one felt… exclusive.

The Dragon King Certificate was already extremely rare—very few humans had ever obtained one.

Naturally, that meant very few had ever set foot in this place.

But why create a dungeon that almost no one could enter?

Ordinarily, a dungeon could project countless parallel branches, allowing many class users to enter simultaneously without interfering with one another.

But this place… it clearly wasn’t built with accessibility in mind.

It was entirely possible—likely even—that no two people would enter within the same decade.

The purpose of the Dragon King Palace was questionable.

Yet since it existed, there had to be a reason.

Lin Moyu’s mind spun rapidly.

He had always been someone who dug into the essence of things; an instinct he couldn’t turn off.

A thunderous roar snapped him out of his thoughts.

A massive green Dragon soared across the hall, body over 20 meters long, wings spanning more than 40.

Circling in the air, releasing green Dragon Breath with every exhale.

This was no Dragonkind, but a true Dragon.

“Body like a lizard, with wings on the back.” Lin Moyu murmured.

He had seen Dragons before, back during his skill awakenings, and had even watched skeletons slay them.

Fear was not something he felt when facing them.

The green Dragon glared down at him. Lin Moyu calmly met his gaze.

“Human!”

The Dragon’s voice shook the hall, laden with disdain, and a hint of hostility.

“This one’s going to be troublesome.” Lin Moyu secretly concluded.

Still, he spoke politely: “Greetings, Sir Dragon.”

“No amount of politeness will make me go easy on you.” The green Dragon growled.

Lin Moyu smiled inwardly. He had expected nothing less.

The green Dragon’s voice boomed again, echoing through the chamber, “I will now explain the rules of the first stage of the Dragon King Palace.”

“In this stage, you will face six rounds of challenges. They will be conducted by myself and four other Dragons. Only by defeating us can you proceed to the next stage.”

“Since you are level 70, I will suppress my power to level 75.”

From this, Lin Moyu concluded that the Dragon King Palace was some sort of assessment dungeon, and not a simple combat trial.

After all, it contained intelligent Dragons capable of thought and speech.

Seeing him silent, the green Dragon added, “Although I dislike humans—detest them, even—I will follow the rules of the Dragon King Palace. I will neither go easy on you nor make things intentionally harder.”

“Do you understand?”

Lin Moyu nodded, “I understand. But I have one question: what happened to the monster outside the dungeon?”

The green Dragon’s pupils narrowed, clearly displeased, “That was merely the entrance test. If you cannot even defeat that, you have no right to enter.”

As he spoke, a blob of mud-like substance floated out above his head.

It was roughly the size of a human head, soft, jelly-like, shimmering faintly.

Upon seeing Lin Moyu, it immediately shrank back in fear.

After all, Lin Moyu had injured it earlier. Had it not fled in time, it might have been killed.

Lin Moyu recognized it at a glance. The mud-like creature was the very same light that had been flowing around outside the dungeon.

Its true form looked unexpectedly cute, yet it was actually a terrifying monster capable of devouring anything.

If someone else had encountered it, clearing that test would’ve been far from easy.

The green Dragon’s patience was clearly wearing thin, “Enough. Step onto the arena ahead. I will be waiting for you there.”

With that, the green Dragon turned and flew off, his wings beating with a deafening boom.

The hurricane he stirred up roared through the dungeon, strong enough to knock even level 80 class users off their feet.

But Lin Moyu remained unmoved.

His attributes were simply too high, and negative status effects couldn’t touch him.

The green Dragon noticed this and was momentarily surprised.

Lin Moyu immediately saw through his intentions.

The green Dragon claimed he wouldn’t make things harder for him, yet even this wind was obviously a form of harassment.

The assessment was supposedly based on his level, but who knew if this guy would secretly tweak the difficulty? He had to stay vigilant.

Lin Moyu could tell the green Dragon was truly powerful, likely exceeding the God-level.

From his words, he was in charge of the first stage’s assessment, adjusting his power to about five levels above the challenger.

But what if someone was level 89, or even God-level? If the green Dragon couldn’t match them, what would he do?

Lin Moyu suspected the green Dragon might cheat, but he wasn’t worried.

At worst, he could wreak havoc.

He touched the scale in his pocket, the one Antares had given him before he left.

If real danger appeared, he could escape through it at any time.

The scale contained Antares’s supreme power, and in the lower layer, no one should be able to surpass Antares.

Thus, Lin Moyu had no concerns about his life.

Even in the worst case, he still had ways to fight to the bitter end.

Ahead of him was a flight of steps, for exactly 100 steps.

Lin Moyu attempted to summon his Lightning Deathwings to fly upward, but they didn’t appear.

Lin Moyu also found his flight ability had been suppressed.

When he tried to take flight, law force descended upon him.

“Flight restriction?”

He recognized it immediately as flight restriction power.

He had no choice but to ascend the steps on foot.

“If flying is banned, these steps must be part of the trial.”

Having experienced numerous assessment dungeons and secret realms, Lin Moyu knew the flight of steps had to be part of the trial.

The trial had already begun before he’d even entered the dungeon.

He stepped onto the first step.

It lit up instantly, and a ring of light rose from it.

The ring of light slammed into his feet, attempting to knock him back.

Lin Moyu applied a touch of strength, and the ring of light shattered.

As it broke, the step dimmed and fell silent.

“As expected, climbing the steps is part of the test.”

“If I’m not mistaken, the force will keep growing stronger.”

“But this level of pressure…”

Lin Moyu didn’t take it seriously.

With his attributes, such a force was nothing.

For most Mage-type class users, whose strength attribute was naturally low, resisting this pressure would require spirit force or specialized equipment.

But Lin Moyu’s strength attribute was already at 300,000, comparable to level 70 Warriors.

With the additional 500,000 from the Monarch’s Scepter, his strength attribute rivaled that of legendary rank Warriors in full gear.

The mere rings of light were meaningless before him.

His steps were steady as he ascended, one step at a time.

Each ring of light shattered effortlessly beneath his feet.

The higher he climbed, the stronger the pressure became—by the hundredth step it was triple that of the first.

Yet even that was crushed with a stomp.

Lin Moyu reached the arena with ease, where the green Dragon had been waiting.

The green Dragon had expected Lin Moyu to struggle, but instead found him completely calm.

Lin Moyu’s composure baffled the green Dragon.

Lin Moyu was clearly a Mage, so why was he unfazed?

A Mage’s strength attribute was supposed to be weak.

The 100 steps were designed to test strength, and while trivial to him, they were a serious challenge for level 70 Mages.

“Is all his equipment strength-based?”

“But he doesn’t seem to be wearing any...”

“I can’t figure it out. My head hurts!”

The green Dragon was not the sharpest thinker, and pondering too hard only gave him a headache.

He eventually gave up trying to understand.

The green Dragon said, “If you can withstand my attacks for one minute, you will pass.”

“Don’t worry, I’ll follow the rules of the Dragon King Palace and only use power five levels higher than yours.”

“You have ten seconds to prepare. After ten seconds, I will begin.”
