Necromancer: I Am A Disaster

Lin Moyu continued grinding through the dungeon without rest, while Meng Anwen worked tirelessly to set up the formation.

Across the empire, both the local administrations and the military gave their full cooperation.

This time, the Dongfang Family made a major contribution, joining forces with Meng Anwen, Bai Yiyuan, and the great families.

It could be said that for this plan alone, more than half of the Shenxia Empire’s total strength had been mobilized.

Such a massive operation was impossible to conceal. Word quickly reached the ears of other powers.

They dispatched spies to investigate, but the Shenxia Empire was as impregnable as an iron fortress, with no leaks whatsoever.

Even the rare scraps of information that slipped out were vague and contradictory, impossible to separate truth from rumor.

As the most powerful nation in the world, the Shenxia Empire stood far above the small countries and minor factions around it.

To infiltrate it was nearly impossible.

Meanwhile, Bai Yiyuan’s encampment continued to expand at an alarming rate. The number of Soul Devouring Beasts had far exceeded expectations.

The encampment, originally built to house 100,000 people, was already overflowing. Construction of an even larger encampment had begun beyond it.

Livelihood class users and architects were mobilized to expand the facilities as fast as possible.

Healers were in short supply, so countless Formation Masters were summoned to set up healing formations.

Concocters worked around the clock to brew healing potions.

Even the imperial family contributed, offering rare medicinal materials from their private stores.

The number of people parasitized by Soul Devouring Beasts had already surpassed 200,000, and it was still climbing at a terrifying pace.

The infection spread geometrically, faster and faster, increasingly impossible to contain.

Estimates predicted that within a month, the number of infected in the encampment could reach 1 million.

Only the Shenxia Empire possessed the power to manage something of this magnitude.

No other nation or faction in the world could have accomplished such a feat.

Yet no matter how meticulous Bai Yiyuan and the others were, they knew for certain that some Soul Devouring Beasts had escaped.

If they remained within Shenxia Empire’s borders, that was acceptable.

Once the Soul Fusion Grand Formation was activated, every Soul Devouring Beast within the empire would be annihilated and transformed into nourishment.

But if any fled beyond their borders into other nations… those lands would simply have to fend for themselves. The Shenxia Empire could not be responsible for them.

Bai Yiyuan had spoken bluntly on the matter: “Our ancestors said: those who are not of our kind will always stand apart.”

“Our strength is limited; it is enough that we protect our own.”

“As for those whose hair, skin, and eyes differ from ours, let them face their own fate.”

As one of the most powerful figures in the Shenxia Empire, second only to Emperor Di, Bai Yiyuan’s words carried the weight of imperial decree.

When Emperor Di remained silent, Bai Yiyuan spoke for the empire itself.

Few dared to oppose him; few even thought to try.

Among the people, his authority was unmatched, greater even than that of the imperial family.

Some subjects couldn’t name their emperor, yet all knew the name White God.

Bai Yiyuan was overseeing the encampment, busier than ever with endless matters to handle.

But now, he had set everything aside.

Before him sat Ning Tairan, his expression grave.

“You went to Chuangshen Island?” Bai Yiyuan asked.

“I did.” Ning Tairan replied, “But the old man wasn’t there.”

Bai Yiyuan frowned, “The old man rarely leaves that island. Where could he have gone?”

The “old man” was none other than Emperor Di—the only half-step Transcendent God-level powerhouse of the human race.

Two generations older than Bai Yiyuan and Ning Tairan, one generation senior to Ye Hao, he had lived nearly two centuries.

No one knew his true age, nor did many even know he still lived.

Perhaps his era had already passed.

He hadn’t appeared publicly for nearly a century.

Yet every true powerhouse, every God-level expert, knew of him.

He was the pillar that upheld humanity itself, the reason the Demons had never dared a full-scale invasion.

But now, he was missing. No one knew where he had gone.

Bai Yiyuan had planned to invite him to oversee the Soul Fusion Grand Formation, especially now that the Demon Emperor had made his move.

If the Abyssal Demons were aware, then surely the Dragonkind were too. Perhaps even the Dragon Emperor himself would take action.

Without a half-step Transcendent God-level expert to guard them, disaster could strike at any moment.

Bai Yiyuan and Meng Anwen were strong, but compared to the old man, they were still far behind.

Bai Yiyuan said, “I was planning to visit him myself in a few days. It seems you had the same thought.”

“Now that he’s missing, if he doesn’t wish to be found, there’s nothing we can do.”

“The only option left is for you to see if you can contact Jiang Yi.”

“Jiang Yi?” Ning Tairan was taken aback.

Bai Yiyuan nodded, “He’s on the verge of resurrection. At the very least, he’s already able to wield the Demon-Slaying Sword to strike at the Demon Emperor’s will. The dungeon formed from his soul lies within the Dungeon Hall under your supervision.”

Ning Tairan nodded, “Alright, I got it.”

Bai Yiyuan paused in thought before adding, “Don’t let word of Emperor Di’s disappearance spread.”

“I know.” Ning Tairan said solemnly. He understood the weight of the matter and would not speak carelessly.

After Ning Tairan left, Bai Yiyuan went to find Meng Anwen and informed him of Emperor Di’s disappearance.

Meng Anwen pondered for a moment before saying quietly, “Send someone to locate Lin Mohan. Find out where she is. Also, summon Old Yan back. With the three of us together, we’ll still have the strength to stand against whatever comes.”

…

Immemorial Battlefield, upper layer, core area.

A streak of light split across the heavens at incredible speed.

The space above the Immemorial Battlefield roared violently, unable to withstand the sheer force of that brilliance.

The radiance was like a blade, tearing through the fabric of space and revealing the endless void beneath.

Emperor Di sped through the sky, carrying Lin Mohan toward the domain where Antares resided.

His body shone with blinding light as immense forces surged from every direction, trying to expel him from the Immemorial Battlefield.

As a half-step Transcendent God-level expert, he was not permitted to remain in the upper layer.

Yet his strength was extraordinary. He resisted the Immemorial Battlefield’s expulsion through sheer might alone.

But as time passed, the repulsive force grew stronger. Even Emperor Di could not withstand it for long.

Lin Mohan grew anxious. She did not understand why her teacher had brought her here.

They had traveled from the deep layer to the lower layer, and now all the way to the upper layer’s core area, making a beeline toward its very center.

If she had come alone, she would have been expelled long ago.

Emperor Di said nothing, his expression grave. In a single minute, he had flown more than 10,000 kilometers.

Ahead, Lin Mohan saw Antares, the colossal being whose mere presence inspired terror.

“Antares!” Emperor Di’s voice thundered.

By now, the power repelling him had grown overwhelming.

Cracks extended through the space around him, while arcs of lightning danced in the void, each one brimming with terrifying power.

Lin Mohan trembled; any one of those strikes could annihilate her in an instant.

The Immemorial Battlefield no longer sought merely to expel Emperor Di, but now sought to destroy him. Even he struggled beneath the lightning’s fury.

“Antares!” Emperor Di roared again.

At last, the ancient being stirred. Antares lifted his eyelids, cast a single glance toward Emperor Di, and let out a deep, rumbling snort.

In an instant, the lightning vanished and space stilled.

Antares’s power enveloped Emperor Di and Lin Mohan, shielding them from the Immemorial Battlefield’s power.

Within Antares’s power, the laws of the Immemorial Battlefield ignored Emperor Di, as though he no longer existed.

Only then did he breathe a sigh of relief and lowered himself with Lin Mohan.

He said respectfully, “Lord Antares, it has been many years. I, Di Yan, greet you.”

Di Yan was Emperor Di’s his true name.

Before Antares, he dared not call himself emperor.

Antares snorted, “You old fool are still alive? I thought you’d perished ages ago.”

Di Yan chuckled softly, “Our deal remains unfinished. How could I die before that?”

A spark flickered in Antares’s eyes, “So you’ve found the Dragon Bead?”

Had Lin Moyu been there, he would have noticed the faint shift in Antares’s tone.

In truth, Antares was already quite agitated. But he didn’t show it. Only by concealing his emotions could he keep his leverage in the negotiation.

“Yes.” Di Yan said, “I’ve found it. That’s why I’ve come, to fulfill our agreement.”

Antares pondered briefly, “Very well. State your request.”

Di Yan turned to Lin Mohan, “I ask that you to bestow a fragment of your will—to protect my disciple until she reaches half-step Transcendent God level.”

Only then did Lin Mohan understand why her teacher had brought her here.

This being called Antares was unfathomable, far beyond even her master’s power.

Lin Mohan’s eyes widened in awe, “Teacher…”
