600 Chapter 600: He Wants To Kill Me! 2026-10-20

Under Zhu Qingliu’s care, the wounded who had been crippled and near death recovered swiftly.

Severed limbs regrew. Vitality returned.

Within half an hour, they were alive and healthy once more.

But those slain by the Darkfiend King were gone forever.

Lin Moyu thought of the long-lost resurrection spell, “If this were the previous age, these people could have been brought back.”

His expression grew solemn. Seeing this, Zhu Qingliu thought he was mourning.

She said softly, “Moyu, don’t be too sad. Yiyuan will see to their funerals properly.”

Lin Moyu didn’t correct her.

He did feel sorrow, and a touch of guilt for the fallen.

But stronger than grief was hatred, hatred for the Demons.

If given the chance, he swore he would charge into the Abyss and unleash a massacre against the Demon again.

And if he became strong enough, he would erase the Abyss itself, wiping the Demons from existence.

This had been his conviction for a long time.

Bai Yiyuan soon summoned people to carry away the dead and began handling the aftermath.

Then he started implementing Meng Anwen’s plan.

This operation was on an unprecedented scale, far larger than anything before.

Under Bai Yiyuan’s command, the Shenxia Empire’s military began to mobilize.

Lin Moyu knew this mission would involve countless lives, and many would be lost.

When the plan officially began, Bai Yiyuan would explain everything clearly.

Those unwilling could withdraw.

But once they chose to participate, they would become death soldiers, people for whom life and death no longer mattered.

Of course, those who survive would be rewarded in the end.

Lin Moyu, meanwhile, had his own task: to keep level grinding.

When Lin Moyu last met Meng Anwen, the latter had recharged his Cooldown Talismans, enough for him to reach level 60.

…

Two days later, Bai Yiyuan’s preparations were complete.

Outside the secret realm containing the Soul Devouring Beasts, a massive force had assembled.

The area was packed, a dark sea of tens of thousands. And more were still arriving.

Most were soldiers, but there were also elites from the great families.

Everyone knew what awaited them. No one hesitated.

Bai Yiyuan stood before the secret realm and spoke in a loud, steady voice, “You know what you’re about to face, right?”

A chorus of “Yes!” rose from the crowd.

Bai Yiyuan nodded, “Good. Some of you may die. I won’t promise everyone will return alive.”

“But I can promise this: if you fall, your families will hold their heads high for the choice you made today.”

“This is an opportunity for our race. A thousand years ago we had a similar chance, and we failed to seize it.

“Today we must grasp it firmly. This is the greatest opportunity for humanity, for the Shenxia Empire!”

His words set blood on fire; everyone’s fighting spirit flared.

Outside the secret realm, a vast military camp spread across the land, large enough to house hundreds of thousands.

The camp was new, raised for this mission, stocked with Healers and food.

When the army moved, it moved like the wind.

When preparations were complete, Bai Yiyuan gave the order and everyone poured into the secret realm.

The desolate area instantly thrummed with life.

Several people appeared beside Bai Yiyuan. They were the patriarchs of great families, as well as high-ranking officers from the military.

Ning Tairan, Mo Xinghai, and Feng Chang’an were among them.

Ning Tairan asked quietly, “Old Bai, are you sure about this?”

Though he had agreed to the plan, unease tugged at him, and at Feng Chang’an and Mo Xinghai.

Bai Yiyuan replied, “This is Old Meng’s plan. You may not trust me, but you trust him.”

“Where is Old Meng now?” Mo Xinghai asked.

Bai Yiyuan said, “He has more important matters to attend to. In any case, we’ll follow the plan and do our part.”

“If you still wish to take another step forward, this is the best opportunity.”

“Miss it now, and there won’t be another chance.”

Hearing Bai Yiyuan’s words, the others fell silent.

They followed him into the secret realm, which was already filled with people.

Bai Yiyuan’s voice rang out, deep and commanding: “Everyone, prepare yourselves. I’m about to begin.”

Everyone stood in solemn silence. Their only preparation was to remain completely still and not resist.

Their levels varied, but without exception, none were above level 70.

In Meng Anwen’s plan, a higher level didn’t necessarily mean better.

Among the one hundred thousand who entered the secret realm, most were between levels 30 and 60.

Bai Yiyuan struck the ground with a mighty punch. Power surged outward, shattering the last barrier separating the Soul Devouring Beasts from the secret realm.

Not just one rift opened, but over a hundred.

A ferocious gale howled as countless Soul Devouring Beasts burst forth.

Their grotesque faces twisted were utterly terrifying, their cries echoing through the space as they searched for targets.

“Use Detection! Don’t resist!”

At Bai Yiyuan’s command, everyone activated the Detection spell.

Wisps of wind swept over the Soul Devouring Beasts, weaving invisible threads between them and the class users.

The Soul Devouring Beasts locked onto their targets, following those unseen soul channels straight into the bodies before them.

Some people trembled briefly, but then felt nothing more.

The next second, startled cries broke out. They could feel their power draining away, their arms and limbs seeming to wither.

Many people’s spirits instantly weakened, leaving them feeling frail and exhausted.

Yet without exception, none of them felt any pain.

The Soul Devouring Beasts possessed a terrifying power. They could consume souls, or any form of energy, silently and without pain.

It was a horror beyond imagination.

Bai Yiyuan’s eyes flickered. The number of Soul Devouring Beasts far exceeded his expectations.

Some people bore not just one Soul Devouring Beast, but two or even three.

“Fortunately, Old Meng prepared enough people.”

“There are thirty thousand here already, and more are still arriving.”

“Counting those previously infected and the ones that have split since, there could be hundreds of thousands, perhaps even over a million Soul Devouring Beasts.”

Ning Tairan said gravely, “Let’s hope Old Meng’s plan works.”

Feng Chang’an’s voice was low, “It must… or we’ll go down in history as sinners.”

Bai Yiyuan clenched his fists, “It will succeed.”

He had known Meng Anwen for many years and understood how deeply the man had been affected this time.

If Bai Yiyuan himself had been there, without the protection of the Shenxia Tower, the Demon Emperor’s mere will could have seriously wounded it.

He hadn’t experienced that helplessness firsthand, but he could still feel it.

So when Meng Anwen proposed the plan, Bai Yiyuan had agreed in less than five seconds.

When no more Soul Devouring Beasts appeared, Bai Yiyuan’s clear voice rang out, “Everyone, leave the secret realm! Follow the plan as arranged beforehand!”

At his command, the troops withdrew in perfect order. The soldiers’ discipline shone through as they moved swiftly to their assigned encampments.

Healers, already waiting, began casting healing spells on those visibly wounded.

Each healing spell carried life force, the very energy the Soul Devouring Beasts craved.

By continuously channeling this life force, the Soul Devouring Beasts could be pacified, persuaded that remaining within their hosts was worthwhile.

Thus, they would not kill but coexist, turning their hosts into long-term vessels.

The more violent beasts, however, required the intervention of more powerful Healers.

Bai Yiyuan turned to Zhu Qingliu, “I’ll have to trouble you again.”

Zhu Qingliu smiled, “No need for courtesy between us. I’ve brought the finest Healers of my family to ensure everything goes smoothly.”

As a God-level Healer, Zhu Qingliu was worth many others. She was the backbone of the healing team.

Watching the operation unfold with precision, Bai Yiyuan’s thoughts drifted back to Meng Anwen’s plan.

It could be summed up in two words: raising gu [1].
