Necromancer: I Am A Disaster

In the Abyssal World, within the Demon Emperor’s Palace, the Abyssal Fire had burned ceaselessly for countless years.

The Demon Emperor lounged lazily upon his throne, his gaze piercing through endless void, as though he could see into the Human World.

A cup filled with crimson liquid that radiated a searing heat was in his hand.

It was the blood of a Dragon King, brimming with immense power.

Yet to the Demon Emperor, it was nothing more than a drink.

He spoke unhurriedly, as if talking to himself, “The consciousness has been extinguished, but the information relayed back is sufficient.”

“The Soul Devouring Beasts again… The humans still refuse to give up.”

“Do they truly believe they can give birth to a Transcendent God-level powerhouse again?”

“Fools. In this age, such beings can no longer exist.”

Suddenly, an anguished roar echoed from outside the palace.

Beneath the palace, in the only place untouched by Abyssal Fire, a Dragon King lay bound in heavy chains.

The blood in the Demon Emperor’s cup came from him.

The Demon Emperor took a slow sip, savoring the taste. After licking his lips, he flicked a finger.

A phantom blade appeared beneath the Dragon King, impossibly sharp.

It sliced through the Dragon King’s thick scales, and a globule of blood floated upward before falling neatly into the cup.

He drank again and murmured: “Jiang Yi is about to resurrect. The humans will gain another half-step Transcendent God-level powerhouse. What a pity… a half-step is still just a half-step.”

“After being dead for so long, why return? You were better off gone.”

“The Soul Fusion Grand Formation… You must have learned it from Antares. That old fool still favors the humans.”

“And Lin Moyu, you’re truly interesting. Even with a kill order on your head, you still survive.”

“I suppose I’ll wait until you enter the deep layer before killing you. Something to look forward to, at least.”

The Demon Emperor muttered to himself again and again, his faint voice drifting through the vast palace.

Here, he was utterly alone. The empty hall had been his home for who knew how many years.

Talking to himself was the only way to stave off his loneliness.

His gaze could pierce the entire Abyss, even glimpse fragments of the Immemorial Battlefield.

But what of it? After endless years, even the grandest vistas lost their allure.

Few things could stir the Demon Emperor’s interest anymore. Lin Moyu was one of the rare exceptions.

As for God-level beings like Bai Yiyuan and Meng Anwen, he merely issued some commands from time to time, toying with them for amusement.

The imprisoned Dragon King roared endlessly, yet his voice was swallowed by the Abyssal Fire, unable to travel beyond its burning prison.

Despair filled his eyes. Falling into the Demon Emperor’s hands, he knew his fate was to become nothing more than food.

…

Meanwhile, the raising gu plan advanced steadily. Meng Anwen worked tirelessly, setting formation after formation.

According to the plan, the military and great families would mobilize over a hundred thousand people to serve as vessels for the Soul Devouring Beasts, allowing those creatures to grow stronger within them.

The Soul Devouring Beasts absorbed various forms of energy, refining it all into soul force.

Once the Soul Fusion Grand Formation was activated, that soul force would be gathered and purified.

First, it would be channeled into Lin Moyu, strengthening his soul.

With the combined soul force of hundreds of thousands, perhaps even a million, Soul Devouring Beasts, the resulting soul force would be immense, far beyond what Lin Moyu alone could withstand.

By Meng Anwen’s calculations, he could absorb at most 20% to 30% of it.

The remainder would be divided among Meng Anwen and the other God-level powerhouses, enhancing their own souls.

The soul was one of the fundamental powers of a God-level being, and the strength of one’s soul often determined the level of their power and realm.

According to Meng Anwen’s calculations, even with several God-level experts sharing the overflow of soul force, they would still be unable to consume it all.

What remained would flow back to every participant in the plan as a form of compensation.

This was Meng Anwen’s design, a plan both pragmatic and self-serving, but one that had to be carried out.

They sought advancement, and the Soul Devouring Beasts provided that chance.

There would be deaths, yes—sacrifices that could not be avoided.

All Meng Anwen could do was ensure the fallen’s families were cared for.

…

Lin Moyu returned to the White God Courtyard.

It was quiet, eerily so.

For the first time in his memory, the courtyard stood empty.

Before, Meng Anwen had always been there, lounging comfortably in his chair, as if he had nothing better to do.

Now, only silence greeted him.

Lin Moyu sat in his usual spot and poured himself a cup of tea.

He drank it in one gulp. Warmth spread through his chest, calming his restless heart.

He had finally reached level 60.

As always, upon returning, he was to awaken new skills.

It had been less than two years since his first class awakening, a pace of growth nothing short of astonishing.

Apart from Lin Mohan, no one could compare.

Lin Moyu held an Intermediate Flesh Skill Scroll in his hand. As a mesmerizing golden light radiated from it, he whispered softly, “Teachers, I’m starting now.”

It was as if he were speaking to himself.

In the past, every time he awakened a skill, Meng Anwen and Bai Yiyuan had been there.

This time, he stood alone.

With a bang, the Intermediate Flesh Skill Scroll burst apart.

Golden light flared outward, scattering starlight through the air, looking dazzling and brilliant.

Bathed in the starlight, Lin Moyu began to sense and search for the skill source.

The starlight flowed into him, stirring his skill source, tracing its very root.

Following the radiant thread, he gradually saw the place of origin of his skills.

Points of light shimmered before him, each one glowing like a star in the night sky.

Those were the skills he had already awakened.

And among them, he noticed several dark, unlit points, skills yet to be awakened.

At that moment, one of those dark points began to stir.

Normally, a single Intermediate Flash Skill Scroll was enough to activate a skill.

But something felt different this time.

“Is it because of me?” Lin Moyu wondered.

He could sense the difference clearly.

That point representing the skill was larger than that of ordinary skills.

“This skill… it’s powerful. One Intermediate Flash Scroll Skill isn’t enough to awaken it.”

Trusting his intuition, Lin Moyu unhesitatingly activated two more Intermediate Flash Skill Scrolls.

While others used one, he used three.

If he hadn’t had plenty of skill scrolls, it would have been an unbearable waste.

A torrent of starlight poured into his body, fusing with the awakening process.

That mysterious energy fascinated him. It was the very power that allowed ordinary people to become class users.

The starlight within him surged, stronger and stronger, until it felt as if it might overflow.

Then, all at once, it converged upon that point.

The dark point flared to life, burning brighter and brighter until it became a radiant star within the dark sky.

Lin Moyu watched in awe.

As the skill point was activated, a subtle, inexplicable connection formed between him and the skill.

Compared to his other skills, this newly awakened one felt more natural, more in tune with him.

As the skill activated, starlike light burst forth, illuminating every corner of his body and merging into every fiber of his being.

[Acquired skill: Summon Skeletal King]

[Summon Skeletal King: gather the skeletons of your undead army to summon a mighty Skeletal King. A Skeletal King has to be forged from at least 10,000 skeletons.]

This skill had no level; there was no need for tedious grinding. Its power depended solely on the number of skeletons used in the summoning.

The weakest version required 10,000 skeletons, yet there was no upper limit to its potential.

Now at level 60, Lin Moyu commanded 40 undead legions, each composed of 1,230 skeletons, for a total of 49,200.

A thrill surged through him. Just how powerful would the Skeletal King be, forged from every one of his skeletons?

He also needed to test whether the summoned Skeletal King would benefit from his Comprehensive Amplification talent’s 70x boost.

But Lin Moyu never doubted his strength. His skills had only ever grown stronger, never weaker.

Suppressing his anticipation, he activated the fourth Intermediate Flash Skill Scroll.

Starlight erupted once more, enveloping him completely.

Amid the sea of light and undead aura surrounding him, Lin Moyu sat in solemn majesty, like the God of Death descending upon the mortal world.
