66 - It’s Either Him Or Me

Jiang Taotao’s expression changed greatly, ”Fall back!”

The party immediately fell back from the foot of the mountain.

Hundreds of Mermaid-type monsters rushed down from the mountaintop, completely blocking the path up the mountain.

”Someone intentionally lured the Mermaid-type monsters over.”

Lin Moyu saw a person running in front of the monsters, luring them this way.

This person is wearing a strange outfit. Clearly, he is not a person from Xiajing Academy nor Shenxia Empire.

Jiang Taotao also saw him, ”It’s a person from Sakura Kingdom.”

”This person should be an Onmyoji [1], which is a class specific to Sakura Kingdom.”

This person’s clothes are embroidered with cherry blossom patterns.

Lin Moyu never heard of the class Onmyoji before.

Ning Yiyi said in a deep voice, ”I heard this class is very insidious.”

Jiang Taotao said, ”It’s indeed the case. It has many evil tricks.”

The Onmyoji took out two talismans and threw them, one left and one right.

The talismans exploded, and then two huge phantoms appeared in the air.

When the phantoms appeared, they rushed down to the foot of the mountain.

Just like the Skeletal Warrior, they attracted the monsters in the pools at the foot of the mountain.

The students of Qianlong Institute, who were retreating, were quickly surrounded by monsters.

They released their skills repeatedly, trying to beak through.

There are too many monsters. As such, most weren’t able to break through.

They were trapped. White light appeared on the students one after another, teleporting them away.

The Mission Stone each person obtained before entering the island doubles as a Teleportation Stone.

In a moment of danger, they can use it to escape from here.

However, once they are teleported away, the trial mission will end in failure.

Ning Yiyi said, ”This is the Onmyoji’s skill Shikigami [2], which is said to be able to summon ancient gods.”

Miao Yu asked in a low voice, ”Why would he do that?”

Jiang Taotao said, ”He wants to stop us from going up the mountain.”

At this time, the foot of the mountain is filled with more than 200 monsters.

There are also more than 100 monsters on the mountain path.

There is a total of more than 300 monsters, completely blocking the way up the mountain.

It will take at least a few hours to clear all those monsters.

The Onmyoji sat on top of a Shikigami and laughed loudly, floating in the air, ”You guys stay here. The dungeon belongs to Sakura Kingdom.”

With that, the Onmyoji flew away atop the Shikigami and disappeared in an instant.

”Shameless rascal.”

”Onmyoji is a legendary class. It seems Sakura Kingdom has pulled out all the stops this time.”

”When we are done with the monsters here, a lot of time will have passed.”

”Moreover, our parties have become chaotic, and many people have withdrawn from the trial.”

”This is nothing. When we reach the dungeon, we can reorganize ourselves.”

”The question right now is how do we get up there.”

”How about someone sacrifices themself and leads the monsters away.”

”Oh, please. Do you think we are level 40 class users who have gone through the second class awakening? You must not know how dangerous it is to draw monsters away.”

”These are not a dozen-plus, but hundreds of monsters.”

”Let’s have the Summoners come forward.”

”Summoners aren’t omnipotent. If it were a few monsters, then it would be feasible. But hundreds of monsters, you must be joking.”

Jiang Taotao looked at Lin Moyu and asked, ”Can you handle it?”

Lin Moyu nodded, and a Skeletal Warrior ran out.

”Eh, a skeleton? An undead summon.”

”Whose summon is this?”

”What’s it doing?”

”It’s going to draw the monsters away. It’s really fast.”

The Skeletal Warrior promptly caught the crowd’s attention.

A large number of Mermaid-type monsters shrieked and chased the Skeletal Warrior.

All of a sudden, the number of Mermaid-type monsters around them decreased by one-third.

Jiang Taotao sighed, ”It’s a shame, but there are still so many left.”

Click, click.

Another Skeletal Warrior ran out.

”There are two?” Jiang Taotao’s eyes lit up. She didn’t expect Lin Moyu to have a second Skeletal Warrior.

There is still hope.

The second Skeletal Warrior drew away another batch of monsters.

The monsters at the foot of the mountain were basically all drawn away, leaving only the monsters on the mountain remaining.

Despite this many monsters still remaining, clearing a path to the mountaintop will still be much faster.

”Good job.”

”Brother, you did great.”

”Brother, when the trial is over, I will buy you a drink.”

”Next time we go into a dungeon, we’ll bring you along!”

Everyone praised Lin Moyu.

Ning Yiyi smiled brilliantly, as if she were happier to see Lin Moyu being praised than herself being praised.

Only Ling Zhen’s face turned ashen, feeling as if he had eaten shit.

At this moment, a third skeleton appeared.

”There’s actually a third one.”

”Thing have been settled!”

Everyone shouted in excitement.

”Get ready to climb the mountain.” Lin Moyu said quietly.

Jiang Taotao was already ready, ”Alright.”

The third skeleton rushed over and drew away the monsters on the mountain.

Jiang Taotao seized this opportunity and quickly rushed up the mountain.

Upon seeing this, the other parties immediately followed suit.

In fact, Lin Moyu didn’t need to go to such lengths. He could use Corpse Explosion to instantly clear these monsters.

However, he was forced to do so because of Ling Zhen.

Lin Moyu doesn’t want to convenience this guy.

They are currently in the same party. If he uses Corpse Explosion, EXP will be distributed equally.

But why is he being so obstinate?

That’s because the other party has provoked him repeatedly.

If it were somewhere else, Ling Zhen would probably be dead already.

Everyone ran quickly up the mountain.

The mountain is a few hundred meters tall.

After just a few minutes, they reached the mountaintop and saw the dungeon’s entrance.

At this time, a group of people just so happened to appear at the other side of the mountaintop.

”Enter the dungeon. Don’t let them take the lead.”

The people of Qianlong Institute shouted loudly.

Jiang Taotao quickly rushed toward the entrance of the dungeon.

”Eh?”

”How did they come up?”

”Can they fly?”

Sitting on the Shikigami, which is standing in midair, the Onmyoji has a strange expression on his face.

He clearly drew many monsters to block their path.

With so many monsters around, it would take at least a few hours to clear them all.

By then, the people from Sakura Kingdom would have already finished raiding the dungeon and slipped away.

Unexpectedly, the people from Qianlong Institute climbed up the mountain so quickly, exceeding his expectations.

Both sides reached the mountain top at the same time. After exchanging a look, they rushed toward the entrance of the dungeon.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

Arrows burst in the air, and then fell down like rain.

”Be careful, it’s the Archer-type skill Rain of Arrows.”

The Archers of Sakura Kingdom suddenly launched an attack and unleashed a skill.

Knights raised their shields.

Mages deployed defensive skills.

Two skeletons appeared in front of Lin Moyu, blocking in front of him and Ning Yiyi.

”This bastard, he dares to mess with us. Let’s beat him up.”

”Right, let’s give him a thrashing.”

The Archers and Mages of Qianlong Institute also launched their skills one after another.

In an instant, arrows flew about and magic spells exploded indiscriminately.

Although they are only class users around level 20, but their skills are still quite magnificent.

The Healers stood at the rear, continuously providing treatment, while the supports quickly provided status buffs.

Pillars of healing light rose one after another.

Knights joined the fray and collided with each other.

Since there was no prior preparation for this encounter, there was no formation to speak of.

The scene became extremely chaotic.

Since the difference in strength between the two sides isn’t significant, neither could seize the advantage.

As far as Lin Moyu can tell, Shenxia Empire’s side should be stronger.

The people of Qianlong Institute who came here are all elite class users.

And their skills and equipment are both extremely powerful.

The people from Sakura Kingdom are obviously also elites. But compared to the people from Shenxia Empire, they are still a bit inferior.

The only issue is that the Onmyoji drew monsters to the bottom of the mountain, causing the parties from Shenxia Empire to become incomplete, significantly reducing their combat power.

This led to fretful fighting, where the outcome is difficult to determine.

The two sides engaged in a fierce battle, neither able to gain access to the dungeon.

As Mages depleted their spirit force, they began to consume spirit potions.

The skills of Archers and Knights also entered a cooldown.

The fighting tapered off

Gradually, both sides stepped back and stopped fighting.

From beginning to finish, Lin Moyu never stepped in.

His skills are too powerful.

If the Skeletal Warriors step forward and brandish their blades, and then Corpse Explosion is used, the other side will probably have no survivors.

Jiang Taotao previously said that the competition between the two sides is long-standing, but it rarely leads to casualties.

The seemingly fierce battle just now ended with only some injuries.

Furthermore, with the treatment provided by the Healers, their injuries were quickly healed.

The first confrontation ended in a tie. Both sides were on guard against each other, not daring to relax.

The dungeon is right in front, and the Mermaid’s Tears are a must-have item to both sides.

”Our parties are too chaotic and need to be reorganized.”

”So long as we reorganize our parties, we can definitely suppress them.”

Many people dropped out at the foot of the mountain, leaving the parties unstable.

”We lack a long-range damage dealer. Either a Mage or an Archer will do. However, they must not be above level 22.”

”We need a Healer. If you’re a Healer below level 21, you can join our party.”

”We’re looking for a Mage below level 23.”

There is a shortage of damage dealers, followed by a shortage of Healers.

When they were surrounded by monsters just now, many Mages quit the trial.

Furthermore, level has also to be taken into account.

The average level of a party raiding Mermaid Dungeon can’t exceed level 20.

Ling Zhen suddenly spoke up, ”Party leader, I want to join another party.”

”Why?” Jiang Taotao was struck dumb. She didn’t expect Ling Zhen to say such a thing.

Ling Zhen pointed at Lin Moyu and said, ”I can’t stand being in the same party as him anymore. Either he goes, or I go.”

Not only Jiang Taotao, but also Duan Gao and Miao Yu showed looks of surprise.

Ling Zhen unexpectedly made such a threat at this time, when they have reached the entrance of the dungeon.

Duan Gao uttered gravely, ”Ling Zhen, you’re going too far.”

Miao Yu said, ”That’s right. If Lin Moyu hadn’t lured away the monsters earlier, we wouldn’t have been able to get here.”

Ling Zhen was unconcerned, ”That’s not my problem. Anyway, to put it briefly, it’s either him or me.”

Ning Yiyi sneered, ”Ling Zhen, you’re a piece of shit.”

Ling Zhen ignored Ning Yiyi, ”Party leader, make your choice.”
