65 - This Is The Last Time

The air on the island is filled with vapor.

Every breath contains a strong fishy smell.

The humidity here is extremely high, making it feel like you are soaked in water.

It feels quite uncomfortable here.

”What an insufferable place. It smells here.”

Ning Yiyi covered her nose. She really dislikes the smell here.

In the center of the island, there is a prominent mountain peak

Mermaid Dungeon is located on the mountain peak.

From a distance, you can see a huge waterfall cascading down the mountain peak.

On the peak, the entrance of Mermaid Dungeon looks like an underwater vortex, constantly spinning.

Jiang Taotao looked at the mountain peak and ascertained the direction.

The island is larger than expected. After passing through the water curtain, the parties dispersed.

The crowd quickly dispersed.

”Move out. Our target is Mermaid Dungeon.”

”Avoid fighting the monsters if possible.”

Jiang Taotao spoke in a deep voice.

She hurriedly ran ahead.

The others promptly followed behind her.

On the island, there are pools of water everywhere. Many monsters can be seen in the pools.

These monsters are half human and half fish, and are covered with scales.

Unlike the Mermaids in stories, they aren’t beautiful and cute.

They have exposed sharp teeth that glisten with a cold hue under the sunlight.

Their teeth look strong enough to bite through steel.

There are small paths between the pools. As if a single entity, the party quickly crossed the paths.

Splash!

Along with splashes of water, a Mermaid-type monster suddenly shot out of a pool and charged straight toward the party.

Jiang Taotao reacted extremely quickly. She promptly activated her skill.

Taunt!

This is the signature skill of a Knight.

The Mermaid monster appears to have been greatly offended.

It turned and rushed toward Jiang Taotao, a red gleam in its eyes, looking as if it lost its rationality.

Lin Moyu’s Detection fell on the Mermaid.

[Mermaid Soldier]

[Level: 19]

[Strength: 300]

[Agility: 150]

[Spirit: 200]

[Physique: 320]

[Skills: None]

Judging by the attributes, it meets the criteria for a level 19 monster.

It isn’t strong and has no skills.

Such a monster can’t stop them at all.

Charge!

Without waiting for the Mermaid-type monster to arrive, Jiang Taotao raised a shield to welcome it.

Under the effect of the skill Charge, she instantly crossed a distance of more than 10 meters and collided with the Mermaid-type monster.

With a bang, the Mermaid-type monster was flung several meters away.

At this moment, a Fireball flew out and landed accurately on the Mermaid-type monster.

With a boom, the Mermaid-type monster was instantly enveloped in flames.

However, it still didn’t die, but instead struggled for a moment and charged toward Jiang Taotao again.

Behind it, a figure flashed. Ning Yiyi arrived next to it at some point.

A dagger ejected out with a faint gleam.

Fatal Blow!

After the skill was activated, the dagger stabbed the Mermaid-type monster in the heart.

The scales broke, and the Mermaid-type monster fell to the ground with a scream.

At this moment, Ice Arrow slammed into the Mermaid-type monster.

The Mermaid-type monster was frozen completely, loosing its movement ability.

[Killed level 19 Mermaid Soldier, EXP +1,500]

[Jiang Taotao obtained fish scale x1]

Lin Moyu received a notification that the Mermaid-type monster was killed.

Due to the fact that there are six people in the party, the amount of EXP he obtained wasn’t large.

As the party leader, all dropped items will go to Jiang Taotao.

This is a trial, not level grinding, so Lin Moyu doesn’t mind it.

After quickly taking care of the Mermaid-type monster, the party continued to move forward.

Along the way, the encountered several monster waves.

The closer they got to the mountain peak, the more monsters there were.

At the same time, the level of the monsters gradually increased.

At this time, they are already faced with level 21 monsters, and it takes some effort to eliminate them.

After killing a level 21 monster, Jiang Taotao looked toward the mountain peak.

”At the current speed, it will take at least 3 hours to reach the center of the island.”

”Climbing the mountain will also take time.”

”Our progress is too slow.”

”Next time we encounter a monster, Miao Yu, you will be responsible for restraining it. Let’s avoid fighting if possible.”

”Let’s pick up our speed and proceed to the dungeon.”

Jiang Taotao decided to ignore the monsters and speed up the party’s progress.

Miao Yu nodded, ”Okay.”

The party’s progress accelerated.

When they encountered a monster again, Miao Yu used a skill to restrain it.

Wind Binding!

When she activated her skill, wind elemental particles surged and wound around the monster as if chains.

The skill’s duration is one minute. After the minute is up, they will already have run out of sight.

In this way, the party’s progress speed was greatly increased.

After only 20 minutes, the foot of the mountain appeared in their line of sight.

Just as Jiang Taotao has predicted, they fell behind.

At this point, other parties have already reached the foot of the mountain, far ahead of them.

With the waterfall cascading down from the mountaintop, there is only one path that can be climbed, and it is not spacious.

Along the way, there is a large number of Mermaid-type monsters standing.

Especially at the foot of the mountain, where the waterfall has scrubbed the ground, forming a series of pools.

The pools are interconnected, forming curved paths.

There are Mermaid-type monsters everywhere here, making it difficult to avoid them.

At this point, some parties have arrived at the foot of the mountain, clearing the monsters around, preparing to climb the mountain.

Jiang Taotao gritted her teeth, ”If we charge straight ahead, can you handle the monsters?”

Miao Yu shook her head, ”There are too many of them. I can’t restrain them all.”

”And besides, the level of these monsters is 22, which is higher than mine. There is a chance that my skills will fail.”

If the level of the monsters is higher than Miao Yu’s, there is a chance that her skills will fail.

Her skills have failed several times already. But at that time, she was facing only one monster at a time. If she failed to restrain it, the party would eliminate it directly.

As for the place in front of them, it is filled with monsters, as if a military camp.

Jiang Taotao creased her eyebrows.

If they have to clear the monsters along the way, it will take them at least an hour. By then, they will really have fallen behind.

But if they charge head first, without Miao Yu’s control, it will be difficult to charge through.

If things don’t go well, they will be surrounded by Mermaid-type monsters, and the party will be in danger.

For the moment, Jiang Taotao was at a loss for what to do

Looking in front, Lin Moyu quickly found the closest path.

”Let me do it.”

Lin Moyu suddenly spoke up.

Ling Zhen sneered, ”You? What can a level 17 guy like you do?”

Up until now, Lin Moyu didn’t lift a finger, following quietly along.

Except for Ning Yiyi, the others don’t know how capable he is.

Ning Yiyi snorted and said, ”Ling Zhen, shut your trap.”

Jiang Taotao glared at Ling Zhen, signaling for him to speak no more.

Then, Jiang Taotao asked Lin Moyu, ”What are you planning to do?”

Lin Moyu said, ”I will use the Skeletal Warrior to distract the Mermaid-type monsters.”

Jiang Taotao’s eyes lit up. She remembered that Lin Moyu’s class is Necromancer.

Although she doesn’t know what sort of class Necromancer is and what skills it possesses.

But he does have a summon.

Using the summon to distract the Mermaid-type monsters is a good strategy.

At this time, Jiang Taotao noticed that the parties that have reached the foot of the mountain have Summoners.

They are probably using the Summoners to lure the Mermaid-type monster away.

Jiang Taotao said, ”Alright, we’ll leave it to you.”

”Everyone else, get ready. We’ll charge ahead while the monsters are being lured away.”

Lin Moyu willed, and the Skeletal Warrior ran away along with the characteristic clicking sounds.

”So fast!”

Jiang Taotao’s eyes narrowed sharply.

The speed of the Skeletal Warrior exceeded her expectations by far.

In the blink of an eye, it had run tens of meters and appeared in front of a group of Mermaid-type monsters.

The Mermaid-type monsters let out piercing cries and rushed toward the Skeletal Warrior.

The Skeletal Warrior ignored them, then turned and ran away.

It ran to another pool and drew another group of Mermaid-type monsters.

Then, it ran to yet another pool.

Shortly after, a dozen-plus Mermaid-type monsters were following behind the Skeletal Warrior.

The Skeletal Warrior drew the monsters farther and farther away.

With the path in front of them cleared, Jiang Taotao shouted in a low voice, ”Let’s go!”

The party advanced rapidly.

The Skeletal Warrior ran ahead and pulled away all the monsters along the way.

The party’s progress was very smoothly.

In just a few minutes, they had already reached the foot of the mountain.

At this point, there are more than 100 monsters behind the Skeletal Warrior.

Following Lin Moyu’s command, the Skeletal Warrior ran further and further.

All of a sudden, the Skeletal Warrior disappeared.

Lin Moyu retrieved it back into the summon space.

The Mermaid-type monsters, who suddenly lost their target, fell into a state of confusion.

Jiang Taotao breathed a long sigh of relief, ”Well done.”

Ning Yiyi chuckled, ”Quite impressive.”

Duan Gao and Miao Yu looked at Lin Moyu with admiration and thanked him.

Ling Zhen said coldly, ”Why haven’t you done this from the get go? We would have arrived sooner.”

Lin Moyu turned his head and looked at him as if he were an idiot.

Isn’t this guy a Mage?

A Mage’s brain should be working rather well.

This guy looks like he’s somewhat of an idiot.

Ning Yiyi snorted coldly, ”Ling Zhen, shut your trap. If you have the skill, you can do it yourself.”

Lin Moyu looked at him coldly, ”This is the last time.”

Ling Zhen revealed a disdainful look on his face, ”It’s just relying on a summon...”

Jiang Taotao interrupted Ling Zhen at this moment, ”Enough, zip it.”

Ling Zhen has targeted Lin Moyu repeatedly.

Lin Moyu rarely speaks. But every time he spoke, Ling Zhen started a fight.

Everyone is well aware who is the problem here.

Screams suddenly came from the mountaintop.

Everyone looked up and saw a large number of Mermaid-type monsters rushing down the mountain.

Several parties that have been climbing the mountain hurriedly retreated down the mountain.
