63 - A New Skill, Curse-Type!

According to Ning Yiyi, Ling Zhen’s younger brother was supposed to participate in the trial.

However, because of God Bai’s intervention, Lin Moyu took his place.

This is the reason Ling Zhen was so disgruntled when he saw Lin Moyu.

Ning Yiyi doesn’t know the specifics of the trial.

What she knows is that it is very important and has specific level requirements.

Your level can’t be too high nor too low.

Everything else will be divulged tomorrow.

Lin Moyu didn’t take Ling Zhen seriously.

In his eyes, Ling Zhen is just a buffoon, not worth mentioning.

He is not being arrogant, but confident.

He has confidence that he is not weaker than any class user below level 30.

The single room is as bright as day.

An elementary rank skill scroll has been activated.

A mass of light enveloped Lin Moyu.

After a few minutes, the mass of light disappeared.

Lin Moyu sighed.

It was a dud.

If you use a skill scroll, you aren’t guaranteed to awaken a skill.

And even if you awaken a skill, it might not be a new skill, but rather an old skill that you have already mastered.

In short, he didn’t master a new skill.

This is quite the normal thing.

As you master more and more skills, in order to awaken a new skill, the number of skill scrolls you have to use will increase significantly.

Elementary rank skill scrolls only cost 100,000 gold coins per scroll. This isn’t expensive. If you use 100 scrolls, it will add up to 10 million, that’s all.

Intermediate rank skill scrolls cost 10 million per scroll. If you use a large number of them, the amount will be astronomical.

Lin Moyu bought two elementary rank skill scrolls. After the first failed, he used the second one.

A mass of light appeared again and enveloped him.

Lin Moyu gradually felt his body heat up, and a strange aura emerged from him.

He has experienced this feeling before.

A faint feeling of elation welled up inside him.

”A new skill.”

This skill scroll has not been wasted.

[Obtained skill: Slowing Curse.]

[Slowing Curse (level 1): curses enemies within a range of five meters and reduces their speed by 5%; lasts for one minute.]

After it was amplified by his talent, the range has increased from five to 100 meters, which is a twenty-fold increase.

The slowing effect was also enhanced twenty-fold, halving the speed of the enemy, including attack speed and movement speed.

In this way, it practically weakens the enemy’s offensive power by half.

And it lasts 20 minutes.

Godly skill, another godly skill.

Lin Moyu studied Slowing Curse.

”My skills can be divided into summon-type, offensive-type, and curse-type. I wonder if I will be able to unlock other types later.”

”The curse-type skill greatly weakens the enemy. It not only significantly increases my safety, but also indirectly increases my offensive power.”

”Regardless of the type, they are all very powerful.”

After he finished studying the skill, Lin Moyu expended spirit force to summon four Skeletal Warriors, and then drank a bottle of elementary rank spirit potion.

His spirit force began to rapidly recover.

After 10 minutes, after restoring 100 points of spirit force, the potion’s effect disappeared.

After understanding the effect of the potion, Lin Moyu entered a meditative state.

It restores 100 points of spirit force and can only be consumed once every hour.

Regarding his spirit force, which has reached 1,000 points, it only accounts for one-tenth of the total amount.

If he solely relies on the potion, it will take 10 hours to fully restore his spirit force.

Overall, it is not much faster than meditation.

And if meditation is combined with the potion, Lin Moyu estimates that efficiency won’t improve much.

Interrupting meditation time and time again to drink the potion can greatly affect the effectiveness of meditation.

It’s not worth the trouble.

The communicator emitted a pleasant melody, pulling Lin Moyu back from the meditative state.

The ringtone was set by Ning Yiyi.

Lin Moyu only has one contact saved in the communicator, and it is Ning Yiyi.

”Rise and shine!”

When the call was connected, Ning Yiyi’s voice sounded.

”I’m downstairs. Come down. Let’s have breakfast. After we have eaten, we’ll head out.”

”Okay.”

Ning Yiyi bought a lot of food.

”Since we don’t know how long it will take, it’s best to prepare more food.”

”Otherwise, it will be like last time, when I almost starved to death.”

”Fortunately, there were your sweet potatoes.”

Lin Moyu couldn’t help chuckling.

Back then, she didn’t eat the steamed buns, but insisted on eating the sweat potatoes.

Lin Moyu silently followed behind and paid for the food.

He spent the remaining 10,000 gold coins, buying enough food for two people to eat for a month.

Fortunately, the storage space isn’t small and can still accommodate it all.

In Xiajing Academy, money tends to be spent quickly.

If it were in Xihai City, 10,000 gold coins would be enough for Lin Moyu to eat for several years.

Jiang Taotao and company were already waiting in Qianlong Institute.

In addition to Jiang Taotao and company, there are many other people in the institute, who formed their own parties.

Ning Yiyi walked over with Lin Moyu.

Jiang Taotao looked at the time and said seriously, ”After we are teleported, don’t wander off.”

This is not the first time she has gone through a trial.

Ling Zhen glared Lin Moyu, ”Kid, don’t drag us down.”

Ning Yiyi snorted coldly, ”So long as you don’t drag us down, we’ll be fine.”

Jiang Taotao felt a headache, ”Whatever conflicts you have, put them aside until after the trial.”

”You should be well aware how important this trial is.”

”Now, let’s introduce our classes.”

As the party leader, she must bring the party together.

Even if it’s just on the surface, it’s still imperative.

Otherwise, it would be better to give up on the trial.

”Duan Gao, level 20, Prophet.”

”Miao Yu, level 20, Keeper.”

Prophet and Keeper are support-type classes, and they are both superior rank classes.

Prophet mainly provides status buffs. If a party has a high-level Prophet and the Prophet’s skills are adequate, the party’s combat power can be doubled at least.

Keeper is classified as a Healer-type class, specifically responsible for giving treatment, and also has some simple monster restraint ability.

Under Jiang Taotao’s gaze, Ling Zhen uttered reluctantly, ”Ling Zhen, level 21, Warlock.”

Not unlike Elemental Mage, Warlock is also classified as a Mage-type class as well as a superior rank class.

The two have some overlapping skills.

”Ning Yiyi, level 19, Shadow Assassin.”

”Lin Moyu, level 17, Necromancer.”

”Jiang Taotao, level 23, Spren Knight.”

Jiang Taotao swept the others with her gaze, ”Let me repeat myself, we must unite for this trial.”

”If anyone drags the party down, don’t blame me for being ruthless.”

Jiang Taotao has a serious expression. At this time, even Ling Zhen’s ears pricked up.

Ning Yiyi smiled and said, ”Don’t worry, Sister Peach. We won’t affect the trial.”

A giant teleportation formation suddenly appeared in the air.

”Qianlong Institute, initiating the trial teleportation.”
