Stellar Slacker: I Thought This Was an Idle Game!

Twilight settled over Solitude Spire in shades of deep lavender and burnt orange.

A cool evening breeze drifted through the overgrown garden, carrying the soothing honey fragrance of the blooming Sun-Lotus Cabbage. The massive five-star vegetable glowed softly in the dusk, illuminating the dark clover like a lantern.

Down in the tall grass, the Thunder Gryphon let out a sleepy yawn.

The imperial war-mount stretched its front paws, ruffled its brass-tinted feathers, and curled back up into a tight ball beside a sun-warmed boulder. It looked less like an imperial terror and more like an overgrown barn owl having a peaceful evening.

Inside the quiet kitchen, Grandmaster Vivienne’s Sovereign Heart Seal remained tucked under the front left leg of the pine table, with the ancient jade seal carved on its underside. The ancient relic crackled with faint violet sparks, keeping the table steady under a heavy ceramic teapot and three teacups.

On the porch railing, Barnaby the clockwork owl sat motionless.

The hand-carved oak bottle cork was pressed firmly into his brass beak, keeping his motivational speeches locked in silence. Beneath his left talon, the automaton held a tarnished copper coin pinned against the cedar wood, amber crystal eyes tracking the first evening stars.

Felix Vance adjusted his position in the Zero-Gravity Recliner.

His head rested comfortably against the cloud-like silk of his new Celestial Hammock Pillow. The heavenly fabric contoured to the curve of his neck, completely removing every trace of tension from his shoulders.

”Best drop in the game,” Felix murmured, giving the pillow an appreciative pat. ”Whoever programmed this comfort relic deserves a promotion.”

Beneath his ribs, his 2.0-Earth-Mass terrestrial core hummed with steady, rhythmic weight.

Two complete planetary masses of compressed iron, nickel, and silicate sat anchored within his body, holding the Seventh Spire locked into the firmament. To Felix, the astronomical weight felt like nothing more than a deep, satisfying meal resting quietly in his stomach.

He picked up his brass-cased AetherDeck from the armrest and tapped the screen.

The obsidian display lit up, displaying the system overview:

Felix read the prompt with a lazy squint.

”Basically upgrading the power supply,” Felix muttered. ”In every PC build, you never skimp on the power supply. Higher wattage means more stable performance for background apps.”

He tapped the item icon in his inventory to check the Inspector HUD:

【Item: Star-Ignition Catalyst】 【Grade: SSR Primordial Core Component】 【Inspector Note: A superdense quantum trigger forged in the heart of a collapsed pulsar. Sinks straight into the terrestrial core to initiate the gravitational contraction needed for stellar fusion. Feels like swallowing a hot bowling ball. Do not operate heavy machinery during installation.】

Felix scoffed softly under his breath.

”I don’t operate heavy machinery anyway,” Felix said. ”I’m lying in a floating recliner. Perfect timing.”

He placed his thumb on the screen and pressed [Install Component].

The obsidian slate gave a sharp, melodic chime:

[INSTALLATION INITIATED: STAR-IGNITION CATALYST]

Sinking catalyst into primary terrestrial dantian...

Gravitational Compression: ACTIVATED

Status: Installing... Please do not power off device!

A tiny speck of brilliant golden light rose from the glass surface of the AetherDeck.

It was no larger than a mustard seed, yet it shimmered with the incandescent brilliance of a dying star. The golden spark drifted into the air, hovered over Felix’s chest for a fraction of a second, and sank straight through his gray hemp tunic.

The moment it touched his skin, it vanished into his flesh without leaving a mark.

Inside Felix’s chest, the reaction was immediate.

The Catalyst sank directly into the molten iron-silicate center of his 2.0-Earth-Mass terrestrial core.

Like a drop of cold water hitting boiling oil, the core reacted with astronomical intensity. The two planetary masses did not explode outward; instead, the micro-singularity trigger grabbed hold of the planetary mass and pulled inward with catastrophic force!

Gravitational contraction engaged.

The core shrank in physical volume by half, condensing its astronomical mass into a sphere of terrifying, hyper-dense matter.

With that sudden compression came an unavoidable byproduct: an outward pulse of localized gravitational pressure.

THUMP.

A deep, seismic heartbeat echoed through the bedrock of Solitude Spire.

The air around the porch grew impossibly thick. The atmospheric pressure skyrocketed in an instant, accompanied by the distinct, sharp scent of cold ozone.

Across a fifty-foot radius centered on Felix’s floating recliner, gravity surged.

Ten times normal weight.

Twenty times normal weight.

Fifty times normal weight!

Down in the yard, the blades of grass and green clover flattened instantly against the dirt like a pressed rug.

The Thunder Gryphon was in the middle of stretching its front legs when fifty times mortal gravity slammed down onto its spine. The imperial war-mount let out a startled OOF as its chin was pressed flat into the dirt.

Its brass-tinted feathers rattled under the sudden crushing weight. The griffin blinked its large golden eyes in confusion, tried to lift its head, failed completely, and let out a quiet whine. Realizing it couldn’t stand up anyway, the lazy beast decided the flattened dirt made an acceptable bed and closed its eyes to go back to sleep.

On the porch railing, Barnaby the clockwork owl let out a series of frantic metallic clicks.

His internal brass gears whined in mechanical agony under fifty times normal load. The oak bottle cork in his beak held firm, preventing any terrified squawks from escaping, but the tarnished copper coin beneath his left talon pressed a millimeter deep into the solid cedar wood!

Barnaby’s amber crystal eyes glowed brighter, vibrating in sheer terror as his clockwork joints locked up to prevent his frame from collapsing.

Inside the kitchen, the pine dining table creaked under the immense weight.

Yet Grandmaster Vivienne’s Sovereign Heart Seal, firmly wedged beneath the front left leg, flashed with brilliant violet runes. The primordial relic absorbed the downward gravitational shear like an immovable anvil, keeping the table and the ceramic teapots from splintering into kindling.

High above Solitude Spire, the twilight sky warped.

The evening clouds drifting across the Seventh Spire were suddenly caught in a massive gravitational vortex. They spun in concentric white circles around the mountain peak, while the distant background stars bent into glowing optical rings—a textbook display of gravitational lensing.

The screen door creaked open.

Lyra Ashford had taken half a step onto the porch carrying an evening lantern when the gravitational wave hit her.

CRACK.

The wooden handle of the lantern shattered in her fingers, dropping the glass lamp to the floorboards.

Lyra’s breath was ripped violently from her lungs. Her white-and-silver disciple robes snapped tight against her limbs as an invisible mountain slammed onto her shoulders.

Her protective sword-intent barrier flared to life, glowing with bright silver light, only to shatter into sparkling shards within half a second under sheer gravitational shear.

Her knees buckled.

Lyra collapsed onto both knees with a loud thud, her palms pressing flat against the cedar planks to keep her chest from being crushed into the floor.

Sweat beaded on her forehead, dripping onto the wood as she struggled to breathe.

She slowly forced her head upward, her golden eyes filled with boundless, terrifying awe.

Through the heavy, distorted air, she looked at Felix.

Senior Brother Vance was still reclining in his floating chair.

The Zero-Gravity Recliner was humming with a low, deep drone, its magnetic repelling coils straining against the astronomical weight pressing down on it. The Celestial Hammock Pillow cradled Felix’s head, perfectly unfazed by the localized gravity well.

Felix’s straw hat remained resting over his eyes and nose.

He was rubbing his stomach beneath his gray hemp tunic with one hand, letting out a low, irritated groan.

”Ugh,” Felix grumbled, his voice slightly muffled by the hat. ”Feels like I swallowed a bowling ball made of lead. The system notes said gravitational turbulence, but this is ridiculous.”

Lyra’s heart hammered against her ribs like a trapped bird.

Swallowed a bowling ball made of lead? she repeated in her mind, her soul shuddering with cosmic terror. He speaks of the Primordial Core of the Great Void! He has swallowed the unformed matter of creation itself!

She could feel the rhythmic pulse beating inside Felix’s chest.

It was no longer the steady hum of a terrestrial world. It was a rapid, accelerating thrum—the violent, hyper-dense compression of astronomical matter being crushed past the threshold of physical reality!

The sheer density of his dantian was warping space itself!

Lyra’s breath hitched in her throat as the terrifying truth dawned upon her enlightened consciousness.

Senior Brother was not simply condensing a core.

He had already achieved the immovable weight of two Earth masses, and now he was compressing those worlds inward, feeding them into the eternal spark of the Star-Ignition Catalyst!

He was preparing the celestial furnace.

He was setting the astronomical stage for the ultimate miracle of the cosmos: the birth of a living, burning Sun within mortal flesh!

The Great Ignition... Lyra thought, tears of holy dread and boundless reverence streaming down her cheeks. He is not cultivating the mortal Dao! He is preparing to ignite the Great Solar Dawn of the First Era! The entire mortal realm will tremble when that stellar spark catches fire!

She bowed her head against the cedar planks, unable to rise, worshipping the immense weight radiating from his chest.

Felix, completely oblivious to her existential crisis, glanced down at the AetherDeck resting on his lap.

The obsidian screen chimed, showing an updated progress bar:

[AETHERDECK OS: UPGRADE COMPLETE]

Component: Star-Ignition Catalyst Successfully Installed!

Core Status: Compressed Terrestrial Mass (2.0 Earth Masses)

Core Internal Pressure: 4.8 × 10¹¹ Pascals

Mantle Core Temperature: Pre-Heating (980,000 Kelvin)

[SYSTEM STATUS]:

Stellar Ignition: PRIMED

Fusion Trigger: Pending Final Spark at Milestone Level 25

Local Gravitational Fluctuation: Stabilizing to Ambient

Current Recommendation: Rest until thermal balancing ends

As the progress bar hit one hundred percent, the crushing pressure around the porch began to recede.

The localized gravity smoothed out, returning from fifty times normal weight to a comfortable, stable one-G baseline.

The flattened clover in the yard slowly stood back up.

The Thunder Gryphon let out a long, relieved snort, resting its feathered chin on its paws and drifting into sleep.

Barnaby’s clockwork gears stopped screeching. The automaton shuddered once, adjusted his balance on the rail, and firmly gripped his copper coin, his amber eyes dimming into night-watch mode.

Lyra gasped for air, clutching her chest as the crushing weight vanished from her shoulders.

She slowly pulled herself up to her feet, leaning against the doorframe to steady her trembling knees.

”Senior Brother...” Lyra whispered, her voice filled with awe. ”The heavenly pressure... has subsided. Has the cosmic furnace achieved equilibrium?”

Felix let out a loud, lazy yawn, stretching his arms toward the evening sky before settling them back onto his stomach.

”The installation finished,” Felix mumbled from beneath his straw hat. ”Still feels like a heavy lunch, but at least the game stopped lagging.”

Lyra bowed deeply, her hands trembling with devotion. ”Your endurance against the weight of the heavens is an inspiration to all under heaven.”

”Yeah, sure,” Felix said, nestling his head deeper into the plush comfort of the Celestial Hammock Pillow. ”All that gravity drained my stamina bar. I’m taking a four-hour nap to let the patch settle. Don’t wake me unless dinner is ready.”

”As you command, Senior Brother,” Lyra murmured, retreating into the kitchen with reverent silence.

Felix pulled his straw hat down, closing his eyes beneath the evening stars.

Inside his chest, deep within his compressed core, two Earth masses of hyper-dense matter pulsed with astronomical warmth, quietly waiting for the spark that would ignite a living star.

Felix Vance let out a contented sigh and drifted into sleep.
