STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer

When everyone left the room, Jeremy was standing alone. He was sure that his strength had exploded. But then Instructor Jeremy seemed to be tight-lipped about it.

He didn’t know why, but he thought it was good. Already, Daniel and Betsy were in disbelief because of his strength. If they knew his real strength was Tier-2, he could understand their shock then.

After pushing down those thoughts, he decided to spend some time in the library. Then he exited the room and started walking downstairs.

It didn’t take long for him to reach the library. After arriving there, he began to browse books about the top 10 zones. After becoming a Tier-2 Beast Tamer, his idea of leaving this zone had become stronger.

There were not many things tying him down here, except his family. If there was a good opportunity, he wanted to use it to leave.

He then browsed a couple of books and articles. Then he picked a few magazines from the bookshelves before finding a study corner to settle.

He found the study desk, sat in the chair, and placed the books on the desk. He could feel the students’ gazes on him, but he ignored it.

He picked up the first book and began to read.

Meanwhile,

Instructor Jacob was inside Elder Derek’s office. He told Elder Derek about his discovery.

”Are you sure about it?” Derek asked.

His old face was full of disbelief. He couldn’t believe Jeremy Night, the kid, was a Tier-2 Beast Tamer. Not even a year had passed. Yet the kid was able to break through before the year’s end.

Jacob Henry was taking time to respond. He could see that Elder Derek was still digesting the news. Even he was in disbelief. If Jeremy’s enemies learned about this, he was sure they would not stop their attacks.

”Let’s go and report to the Dean in person. She should know about this information. This kid is more talented than we thought. If we don’t do something, then the kid will leave for the top 10 zones sooner or later,” Derek said in a serious tone.

In his eyes, Jeremy Night was more important than a half-baked 4th-year student because Jeremy Night had already killed a Tier-4 beast and proved his strength, whereas 4th-year students had yet to go through such trials.

Next, they both left the room and went to meet Dean Carolyn.

Shortly afterward,

Both of them were in her office. Old lady Carolyn was sitting behind her desk, with Instructor Jacob and Elder Derek sitting opposite her.

Carolyn knew something was up.

She asked, ”What happened now?”

”It’s about that kid, Jeremy,” Derek replied.

”Jeremy,” she uttered before her eyes flashed with complicated emotions. She had sent his name for the genius list.

But then she received the news that his profile was rejected during the meeting. Jeremy Night had incomplete profile information despite amazing supportive evidence.

The officials were more into S-Graders than A-Graders. No one was willing to take risks for the talent they hadn’t seen for themselves.

She then turned toward them and asked, ”What happened to that kid? Did he go to the wilderness again?”

She recalled lifting the ban not long ago.

Elder Derek said, ”Dean, it’s something serious.”

Then he turned toward Jacob, signaling him to reveal the truth.

Jacob nodded to him before replying, ”Dean, I have found Jeremy Night’s real strength. He is a Tier-2 Beast Tamer. He didn’t tell me this news, but I found out during my observation in class.”

”What?” Carolyn blurted out in surprise.

Her expression turned serious. She was the one who edited the profile before sending it out for the genius list. She mentioned that kid’s strength as Tier-1 limit.

Because she knew only a Tier-1 limit could provide the strength for Jeremy to go against a Tier-4 Beast. Yet she didn’t think of him as greater than the 2 S-Graders.

The 2 S-Graders had recently reached the Tier-1 limit, so she had thought Jeremy Night’s strength was the same. But now she regrets it. If she had known earlier, she could have filled in the correct information.

It would have caused chaos during the human alliance officials’ meeting. But it’s a pity. Now it’s too late to change anything.

She then turned toward Jacob and said, ”You have made a mistake. You should have found out this news earlier. Maybe the kid wants to be low-key because of the previous assassination attempts.”

”It’s a pity that he didn’t know he had missed a great chance,” she added.

Jacob immediately apologized. He didn’t know what chance the dean was talking about, but he agreed with her judgment. It was his fault. He should have found out this news a bit sooner.

Compared to other instructors, he had not conducted that many classes. Because of it, he wasn’t able to keep an eye on Jeremy Night’s progress.

Elder Derek sighed inwardly. He could understand Jacob’s mood. Who would have thought that kid would have such monstrous progress?

Even he was fooled by that kid.

He then thought of something before asking, ”Dean, I think we should take that kid’s words seriously. If he wants to leave Zone 14 for the top 10 Zones, he has better chances right now.”

”With the talent shown by the kid, it would be easy for him to get a residence permit,” he added.

”Yes, it’s true. I’m also thinking about it. But it’s not easy to catch the attention of the forces in the top 10 zones. There are plenty of young beast tamers there with similar talents.”

”It’s not going to be easy for him to leave,” Carolyn said.

But she didn’t know that she was wrong. Jeremy Night had already attracted the attention of forces in the top 10 zones. It’s just that they didn’t want to make a decision based on incomplete information.

Then there was a force in the 10th zone that took notice of Jeremy’s achievements.

If Carolyn and the others knew about this development, they would be shocked to the core. They didn’t know how dire the situation was in the cities of these top 10 zones.
