STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer

Wilderness:

Jeremy entered the wilderness about 30 minutes later. He forgot about the call he made to Instructor Jacob. Right now, he is focusing on something else.

After stepping inside the wilderness, he immediately wore a mask to cover his face. This is a basic safety measure he could take at this moment.

At the same time, he uses his eyesight ability to monitor the people around him. He had a strong premonition that he should not drop his guard.

Last time, he didn’t face any threats. It doesn’t mean he was totally safe. Not long after he walked into the wilderness, he spotted a few suspicious people following him.

At first, he was not sure, but with his eyesight ability, he was able to zoom in on their faces. He saw a group of three people speaking to each other right after looking at him.

What’s more surprising was that these three didn’t hide their faces. It was a total contrast to the behavior of the previous killers. Those mercenaries had their faces covered.

These people were not trying to hide their identity. A clever idea came to Jeremy’s mind. He thought they were at least Tier-3 Beast Tamers.

As long as he was able to disable them, he could spend time interrogating them. He then continued to move forward to find a suitable spot.

He knew several spots, for example, the unexplored area. But he didn’t want to lead them there. He had escaped previously from higher-tier beasts. He couldn’t tell if he would be safer every time after taking such risks.

So he decided to change his route this time. He continued to go deeper into the wilderness. It didn’t take long for him to reach the inner part of the wilderness.

Jeremy found that the three people were reluctant to take action in the outer part of the wilderness because the outer part was not vast and was closer to the city gate.

He thought they would act now. He then held the katana in his left hand and the handgun in his right hand.

A few minutes later,

After coming to the giant shade tree, Jeremy turned around and waited for the three Beast Tamers to show up.

Swoosh!

”Ha... Ha... Ha... I didn’t expect the kid to take a spot to rest,” a huge laughter sounded as a middle-aged man made an appearance.

Two more middle-aged men followed him from behind. They were clearly the Beast Tamers who took on the underground killer task.

The two men behind him smiled as well. They didn’t expect the killer task to be easy. It was a small task to kill a Tier-1 Beast Tamer.

As long as their boss killed the kid, they could go back to retrieve the reward.

”Kid, you can’t escape!”

”My little red would love to eat you.” After saying that, the middle-aged man released his lifeline beast.

Boom!

A red and black centipede beast over 20 meters appeared on the ground.

”Little red, go and eat that kid,” the middle-aged man said.

On the other hand, Jeremy’s expression was serious. As he had guessed before, these people were Tier-3 Beast Tamers. They were not as threatening compared to the previous mercenaries who came to kill him.

Seeing that lifeline beast turning towards him, he decided to act.

The next second, he used his eyesight ability to target the two men behind the leader.

Bang! Bang!

He fired a continuous shot at them. The projectiles sped fast. They tore through the air before hitting them.

Aaaahhhh!

The two middle-aged men were shot in their bodies while trying to evade the bullets at the last moment. Fortunately, they were Tier-3 Beast Tamers.

Their physique was strong compared to Tier-1 and Tier-2 Beast Tamers. The bullets failed to penetrate their bodies. They were stopped by the thick flesh.

”Firearm,” the boss uttered in surprise.

He didn’t expect that the kid would carry firearms with him. Though it was an old-age weapon, it could still pose a threat to him, especially to his eyes.

Boom!

While the red and black centipede dashed forward towards the prey,

Jeremy decisively put the handgun back in his storage ring and held the katana in his right hand. He covered the single-edged blade with new starlight energy.

He then used his vision ability to observe the centipede beast. It reached him in a flash.

Slash!

The centipede beast tried to bite him. Jeremy used his movement technique to evade, then he slashed at the side of the beast’s body.

The sharp single-edged blade sliced through the flesh of the centipede beast. The starlight energy met no resistance at all.

A single red line could be seen. Compared to the size of the beast, this small injury was not enough to hurt it. Before the lifeline beast could hurt him,

”Explosive steps!” Jeremy used the movement technique to evade the beast and started dashing towards their boss.

”Release your lifeline beast. This kid is a Tier-2 Beast Tamer. The info is wrong!” the boss shouted out loud.

Hearing that, the other two released their lifeline beasts.

...

Meanwhile,

Captain Nathan had two guests locked up in the prison. These two people were none other than the guards stationed at the gate of Central University 14.

Nathan walked into the cell. The guards were terrified. They were already covered in sweat. Earlier, they had been just doing their work.

But out of nowhere, a city police team arrested them and brought them here.

Nathan’s gaze fell on these two. Dean Carolyn had briefed him. So far, he had this pending case that he couldn’t move forward with.

Because the suspicious people were students and they all had a significant background, Dean Carolyn hadn’t given permission to interrogate them.

But he didn’t expect the guards at the gate to be involved as well.

”I’m going to say one thing. If you don’t answer my questions, then I’ll have to use torture methods on you,” Nathan said in a cold tone.

Hearing that, the two guards were scared. They realized they were targeted by someone.
