STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer

Shadow Moon Organisation:

A few minutes later,

Gisela made up her mind. She looked at the other team leaders and staff before turning towards the founder, the head of the organisation.

”Head, I think this kid named Jeremy Night could be useful to us, especially when it comes to the city administration missions that our organisation is missing out on.”

”If he could get some of these missions, our organisation’s name would further spread. Right now, no mercenary organisation is taking jobs from the city administration.”

”Since their pay is low, no one is ready to risk their lives,” Gisela said.

Gasp!

Hearing that, some of the staff took a sharp breath because they hadn’t thought it through. But Gisela had the foresight to see this problem.

But the next second, a rebuttal came.

”Gisela, no one does the job anymore. We are facing far more threats, such as inside and outside threats. We need talents who can grow our organisation.”

”So we can’t afford to waste the quota. We can only recruit a few people,” one of the team leaders said.

He was worried that he might not be able to get talent for his team.

At this time, the Head, Neil, said, ”Alright, don’t fight over the numbers. There are 10 teams. Each of you can at least select one. If there are exceptional talents, the team leader can request more than one talent.”

Hearing this, Gisela relaxed her eyebrows.

She said, ”Head, then I want to recruit this young man into our team.”

Gasp!

Hearing that, the staff and other leaders were taken aback. They didn’t know why she was not interested in other talents with complete profiles.

Some of them had high bloodline lifeline beasts. Their potential was sigh-worthy. They couldn’t understand the point of hiring body-type talent. They were looked down upon everywhere.

Gisela found everyone’s gaze on her. But she didn’t know why she thought the ability to kill across three levels was high. What if the kid became a Tier-4 Beast Tamer? Would he be able to kill Tier-7 Corrupted Beasts?

That’s the level of the team leader. She was willing to take the bet.

The staff and the team leaders looked at each other’s faces. They didn’t understand the mind of Team Leader Gisela.

On the other hand, old man Neil furrowed his eyebrows. He still didn’t think the talent named Jeremy Night was going to be good. There were other discarded profiles who could do better in the 10th squad.

But then, since Gisela had spoken, he decided to trust her on this.

”Alright, you can go ahead. But don’t regret it later,” Neil Moon said in a serious tone.

Hearing that, Gisela stood up from her seat and thanked him.

The other leaders and staff sighed. Since it was her team, they could only watch in silence and sigh.

”She will regret it,” one of the leaders said.

Hearing that, others supported the argument.

Gisela ignored their comments before taking Jeremy Night’s profile. Unlike others, she could see many things. It was reported that Jeremy Night’s talent was body-type. But she saw exceptional blade skills.

That kind of stance and execution when facing off against a Tier-4 Corrupted Beast wouldn’t happen without talent. This was another reason she was willing to make a bet.

An hour later,

The meeting ended. Among the 20 discarded profiles, 12 people were selected. Now it was up to them whether they would succeed in contracting them or not.

Gisela walked out. Since Jeremy Night’s information was incomplete, she decided to visit City A, zone-14, to see things for herself.

Forbidden Area - Wilderness,

The next morning,

The unknown egg lifeline beast began to feedback the energy.

Click!

The next second, he knew he had broken the barrier to reach Tier-2, 1st Rank - Peak Stage. His body was greedily absorbing the feedback energy and started transforming.

The evolution to the peak stage from the mid continued for an hour. Then Jeremy began to run the breathing method to stabilize his new strength.

30 minutes later,

He opened his eyes. His eyes gleamed with a twinkle. He had come to the wilderness before everyone learned about the footage.

He didn’t know whether they were going to publicize it or not. If it was released, then everyone would question his strength. Last time, he had defeated May Lindsey.

This time, everyone would be interested in confirming his strength. Jeremy thought that it would be a matter of time before everyone learned about his Tier-2 strength.

”I bet Instructor Jacob knows about it. But he is acting clueless,” Jeremy thought.

He then shook his head. He disliked publicity. He worried that if the unknown person from the Gold Corp learned about his strength, they wouldn’t be silent.

After pushing down the thoughts, he decided to spend more time here to hunt the corrupted beasts before returning.

...

Central University 14:

Elder Derek’s cabin:

”Hey, Jacob. Tell me honestly. What’s the strength of this kid?” Derek asked the person sitting in front of him.

The person was none other than Jacob Henry.

Jacob Henry knew it was about Jeremy Night. He was trying to act clueless. But Derek looked at him fiercely.

”I had thought kid Jeremy was one step behind S-Graders. But I was wrong. He must have reached the Tier-1 limit as well. Otherwise, it’s difficult to kill a Tier-4 Beast at his level,” Derek said.

Hearing that, Jacob was stunned. Then he tried to recall the duel scene in his mind. At that time, he was engrossed in Jeremy Night’s battle. But he knew something had changed in Jeremy Night.

At that time, it hadn’t crossed his mind. But now, as he looked at it calmly, he recalled a few clues.

”Jeremy has more muscles now. His aura has changed as well. This kind of glow-up only happens because of evolution,” Jacob thought.

But the glow-up was excessive. He had only seen it among major breakthroughs. For example, when a Tier-1 Beast Tamer breaks through to reach Tier-2 Beast Tamer.

The glow-up is not that apparent in the smaller stages, but the clues were real. If he went by clues and what he saw, then Jeremy Night must have become a Tier-2 Beast Tamer.

”It’s absurd,” he blurted out.

”What is absurd?” Derek asked.

Jacob’s heart set off storms. He thought if Jeremy Night had become a Tier-2 Beast Tamer before the end of the year, then it would be major news.

But he didn’t dare to speculate. He was going to take a look at Jeremy Night once he came back.

He then turned towards Elder Derek and said, ”I think he reached the Tier-1 limit long ago.”

”It must be then,” Derek nodded at him.

”But still, you are clueless about his progress. As a Department Instructor, you should be better informed. That kid has had successive breakthroughs, but we didn’t know about it,” Derek uttered.

”I think Jeremy Night doesn’t want attention. He has been dealing with enough problems already. If unwanted people knew about his breakthrough, it could only invite more troubles for him,” Jacob quickly found out a reason and spoke.

”Sigh!”

Derek let out a deep sigh. He totally forgot they were discussing a kid, not some adult.

He said, ”He must be under a lot of pressure. So he hid information from us.”

”The Dean has already reported to the Human Alliance. I don’t think the people behind the scenes will continue to harm Jeremy Night,” Derek added.

”Yes,” Jacob nodded.

But his heart was not calm. If he told him about Jeremy Night’s possible Tier-2 breakthrough, then he would probably think of him as crazy.

So he was not going to do that without confirmation. He could already see that Jeremy Night’s future lay in the top 10 zones, not here.

Elemental Department:

May Lindsey couldn’t listen to the class. She found her classmates’ gazes on her. They wanted to know the follow-up details regarding the challenge duel.

But she didn’t tell them. Not only the university management, but her family also wanted her not to disclose the news.

If everyone learned about the news, there could be a huge commotion. Already, many were questioning her S-Grade talents. This news could further damage her reputation.

Her family didn’t want that to happen. They were willing to play fair and square. Tomorrow, she will go to the wilderness with her family of beast tamers.

...

Control Department:

Everyone was discussing Victor Scott. But he was not here at all. The students were thinking that their Department Representative was preparing for the challenge duel.

Only the middle-aged man instructor knew the truth. He thought the Scott Family was going to let Victor Scott hunt the Tier-4 Corrupted Beasts.

He shook his head thinking about it. The control talent was different from offensive talent. If Victor Scott was not careful, he and his lifeline beast could get hurt during the fight.

He didn’t know what was going on with the Scott Family. At least they should ask his opinion on this matter. He was disappointed. He had decided to contact Victor Scott after the class.
