STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer

Dean’s office:

An absolute quietness can be felt inside the room. The two S-Graders and their instructors were in huge shock. It was not easy for them to accept the evidence. But they had no choice.

The video evidence is real. It was not fake. It was recorded by Instructor Jacob, who is not going to lie when it comes to the STRIKER Department’s reputation.

”No, I don’t believe it.”

”Give me a copy. I’ll ask my family to check. If it turns out to be fake, then Jeremy Night is going to face even more hate,” Victor Scott said all of a sudden.

Hearing this, the middle-aged man’s face turned dark. He was sure that the Dean wouldn’t lie about this evidence. She is the Dean of Central University 14.

She wouldn’t do something that could harm the reputation of the university.

”Victor Scott, the evidence is real. Why would anyone fake it?” he said.

Victor Scott was taken aback. Then he realized something. At the end of the day, the instructor is part of the university.

Why would he go against Dean Carolyn?

”No, my family won’t agree to this,” Victor Scott said again.

The Control Department instructor’s face further darkened. Before he could speak further, the Dean stopped him.

She said, ”I don’t care whether your family agrees or not. The evidence is real. If you want to fight against Jeremy Night, then go and defeat a Tier-4 Corrupted Beast first.”

Victor Scott remained silent. He could only go back and inform his family.

On the other hand, May Lindsey was quiet as well. Unlike Victor Scott, she didn’t doubt the evidence. But she was beginning to feel restless. She wanted to go back and fight against the Tier-4 Corrupted Beasts.

She had not done it before. The last time she had encountered a Tier-4 Corrupted Beast was during the Beast Invasion.

The female instructor saw May Lindsey’s reaction. She thought May Lindsey was doing better than Victor Scott.

”Since you guys have seen it, you can leave,” Carolyn said.

The next second, May Lindsey left with her instructor, followed by the Control Department instructor and Victor Scott.

Only Instructor Jacob and Elder Derek remained.

Dean Carolyn thought of something before saying, ”Jeremy Night has proved his strength. With his current combat strength, he can graduate right now.”

Her expression was serious. Earlier, she used to take Jeremy Night’s words as a bluff. But with his current combat strength, he could really leave City A and find a place for himself in the top 10 zones.

Instructor Jacob noticed that Dean Carolyn wanted to say something further, but she stopped for some reason.

”Jeremy can leave the campus whenever he wants. There is no need for the ban anymore. He is stronger than most of the City Guard Captains,” Carolyn said with a smile.

Derek Gibson could tell that Dean was taken aback by Jeremy’s progress. Like the Dean, he thought that Jeremy would graduate early.

Shortly afterwards,

They left her office. Old Lady Carolyn was pondering. She was now considering whether to recommend Jeremy Night’s name. The Human Alliance has a Genius Ranking List.

The Beast Tamers named on that list are the top Beast Tamers of the human population. If she decides to recommend his name, she would have to provide the evidence as well. The original video footage is the best evidence.

She started to think that she was being selfish. She wanted to develop the STRIKER Department. To that end, Jeremy Night is the pillar. Without him, it’s difficult to develop the STRIKER Department.

But with Jeremy Night’s combat strength, it’s challenging to tie him down to Central University 14. From the video, she could tell that Jeremy’s A-Grade Supreme Combat Body Talent is not less than that of the S-Grade Talents.

She knew it was not the first time this had happened. There are A-Grade Talents in the top zones that can rival the S-Grade Talents.

After seriously giving it some thought, she decided to recommend Jeremy Night’s name for the Genius List. She had decided to upload the supporting evidence as well.

...

Meanwhile,

May Lindsey left the university. She was going back to her family. She wanted to stop them from going against Jeremy Night.

She had misunderstood him earlier. He was not bluffing when making such a condition. He was being serious. So it’s up to her now to complete the condition.

On the other hand, Victor Scott was on his way home. He was furious in his heart. He was still refusing to accept the video evidence because it was unbelievable.

It didn’t take long for them to reach their respective families and report to them. The news came as a thunderclap for the higher-ups of both families.

The news caused them to convene an emergency meeting. When the meeting started, the heads of the families from each side requested a copy of the duel footage from Dean Carolyn.

Dean Carolyn had already recommended Jeremy Night’s name to the Genius List. She uploaded the evidence as well. It would be a matter of time before Jeremy’s name spread to other zones as well.

After doing that, she sent the footage copy to the Lindsey and Scott families. Both family heads analyzed the footage with other elders.

About 20 minutes later,

They came to the conclusion that Jeremy Night’s Talent may be A-Grade Talent, but it’s a special combat-related talent, which gives Jeremy Night remarkable combat awareness.

They saw how Jeremy Night found the Tier-4 Hound’s weak spot in a short time before killing it with a blade. Both families confirmed the authenticity of the video. It was not fake.

What made the family elders terrified was that Jeremy Night didn’t rely on his lifeline beast to kill Tier-4 Corrupted Beasts. But when he made the condition, he only asked May Lindsey and Victor Scott to kill the Tier-4 Corrupted Beasts.

He didn’t ask them not to use their lifeline beasts. After figuring out Jeremy Night’s intention, both families reduced their hostility towards him.

Now these two families were convinced that Jeremy Night’s A-Grade Talent is comparable to the S-Grade. Since his talent is combat-related, he could be treated better in the future than some non-offensive S-Grade Talents.

May Lindsey sighed in relief. Her family was rational. They didn’t show hatred or killing intent towards Jeremy Night because his identity was still intact.

She thought that with such combat awareness, he could be sought after by the Human Alliance in the future. So she didn’t want to be left behind him.

She was going to ask her family to support her. She planned to find a Tier-4 Beast in the wilderness to train. Earlier, she thought it was impossible to face a Tier-4 Beast at Tier-1 level.

But then her mindset changed after watching the duel footage of Jeremy Night. She was starting to gain the courage to take up this challenge.

On the other hand, Victor Scott’s condition was miserable. From a state of denial, he started to accept the facts. Since his family had verified the footage.

Their logical conclusion was that Jeremy Night had powerful combat awareness. He could find the weaknesses of enemies in a fraction of a second.

When the family elders told him this, he broke out in a cold sweat. His father further explained that Jeremy Night was generous in his condition. He had allowed them to use their lifeline beasts, which further woke him up from the delusion.

He couldn’t imagine fighting against a Tier-4 Beast without his Spider Lifeline Beast because his talent was related to spiders. It took him a few hours to accept the facts.

Then his family supported him. They were going to arrange a new training plan for him. His next goal was to kill a Tier-4 Corrupted Beast.

He understood that if not for Jeremy Night, his family wouldn’t have arranged a special training plan for him. Now they had Jeremy Night as a target to catch up with.

...

Joint training facility:

Jeremy Night was practicing inside the room. He was practicing the sword moves without using the Eye ability first. Later he would make a comparison to see which would kill the enemy faster.

The training lasted until dusk. Then he stepped out of the training room. He found the training area unusually quiet. But he could see other students quietly training there.

If it had been earlier, he would have felt many gazes on him.

”Something changed,” he muttered.

Then he thought of the duel footage of himself. His eyes gleamed with a twinkle. He hadn’t followed up on the details because he was busy training. But he was sure that Instructor Jacob would have shown the footage to Elder Derek and the Dean.

After pushing down the thoughts, he started leaving the place. On the way, he noticed the same situation with other students.

Even the Elemental Department students were averting their gazes upon seeing him. He shook his head before continuing to walk.

Soon, he reached the dormitory. After entering his room, he closed the door and went to take a bath.

About 30 minutes later,

He was dressed in comfortable clothes. Then he made a call to Instructor Jacob.
