STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer

Central University 14:

The following day,

The senior students who broke the rules came to the university with dejected faces. As if they had encountered a terrible problem, they were in despair because of it.

The first-year students were shocked. No senior ordered them today. They were minding their own business. The students knew the statement released by the administration had warned everyone.

Even the senior students were afraid of breaking the rules.

But among the senior students, a few of them were still unconvinced. They were carrying resentment in their hearts. For example, Billy and Timothy.

Billy was angry in his heart. He was not surprised by the university’s reaction. He knew it would happen one day because they were clearly breaking the rules.

But he was expecting the support of his partner. Yet both of his parents wanted him to stop his actions and focus on improving his strength.

He was bewildered because his parents had always supported him. They didn’t think highly of Central University 14. So when he had asked them last night, he was able to understand the reason.

His parents were working in the Goldcorp Organization in a quite high position. Currently, the Goldcorp organization in City A was surrounded by a lot of controversies.

The underground collapse some time ago had led the city administration to investigate them. So no one from Goldcorp wanted to cause any new problems.

If the name of Goldcorp appeared in a bad light, it would anger the founders. So his parents were not ready to take risks.

”I can’t take action here. But that doesn’t mean I can’t do anything against him in the wilderness,” Billy’s mouth curved into an arc.

There are always bad people who commit evil crimes for money. So he had already posted a kill task anonymously in the underground network.

He knew the city police were investigating the case, but he really didn’t want the STRIKER Department to grow. On top of that, he was aware of the underground network. The forces operating behind it were powerful.

A mere city police force couldn’t stop them. So he was quite confident that he would receive good news if Jeremy Night entered the wilderness next time.

On the other hand, the third-year student Timothy was experiencing the same anger as well. But unlike Billy, he didn’t do anything because his father had assured him that he would take care of it.

The identity of Jeremy Night was not ordinary; he was the son of the City Governor from City C. So his father didn’t want any evidence left behind.

He believed his father would take care of the problem. But then Simon didn’t stay silent last night. After hearing the threat from Dean Carolyn, he didn’t change his mind.

Instead, he decided to remove the obstacle for his son. It was not like he hadn’t done any shady work before; it’s just that the identity of his son’s enemy was troublesome.

Instead of getting involved directly, he, too, posted a kill task anonymously on the underground network. He also knew about the underground network, and their background was powerful.

He believed they would take care of the matter.

Meanwhile,

Jeremy Night didn’t know about the upcoming threats. He just continued his daily schedule of training, eating, and sleeping. After getting the new ability, his heart urged him to go to the wilderness.

But before that, he wanted to familiarize himself with his Tier-2 strength. Then he would go to the wilderness.

...

A couple of days passed,

Jeremy felt difficulty improving further. He was still at Tier-2, 1st Rank - Early stage. He thought it would be easy to reach the Kid stage, yet he was stuck at the same level.

So he chose to go to the wilderness. Not only did his control over his new strength get better, but his katana sword moves also improved. He needed to go to the wilderness to test his own strength.

After getting ready, he informed Daniel, Betsy, and the instructor before leaving. Instructor Jacob was still cautious. He thought that the threat faced by Jeremy was not over yet, so he ordered him to keep in touch. He wanted to know every update.

Only after getting such a promise did he allow Jeremy to leave.

As usual, Jeremy arrived at the gate and saw the two guards. Their eyes changed upon seeing him, but they acted normally. Jeremy caught their reactions. He ignored them and exited through the gate.

After coming to the main street, he sent a message to Instructor Jacob. He sensed something was wrong with them, so he wanted Instructor Jacob to handle it.

During this time, the two guards informed Billy, their benefactor. They were not afraid of the administration because they were not students; they were just guards. The benefits offered by student Billy were so significant that they couldn’t simply say no.

Meanwhile,

Jacob Henry received the call from Jeremy, which startled him. After speaking with him, his eyes turned cold.

”Guards?”

”Then it’s possible that something is wrong with those guards,” he thought.

He suspected they likely tipped off Jeremy’s information to others.

He immediately left his office and went to meet Elder Derek. If the guards were informing someone else, then it could be senior students.

He thought the statement released by the administration didn’t deter them completely.

Soon, he met with Elder Derek and informed him about Jeremy’s call. Elder Derek took the information seriously. He knew if they interrogated the guards, they might not reveal the answers.

The benefits they received must have been substantial for them not to care about their jobs. He then thought of Captain Nathan. Only the City Police could get answers from them.

He looked at Jacob and said, ”I have got an idea. Let’s report to the Dean.”

A few minutes later,

Carolyn received the news as well. She was aware of the incident, whether it was small or big. After learning the details, she was surprised.

”Why hadn’t I thought of this before?” she thought.

”Elder Derek says it’s better for Captain Nathan to interrogate them,” she uttered.

She felt it was a good idea.
