STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer

Flying cab rose from the ground and started going towards the destination. Not long after, the two beast tamers from the Red Squad left the place as well.

From beginning to end, the City Guard Captain stayed there, watching the Red Squad members leave. His face became tense.

”The Red Squad members have many members with Tier-4 and Tier-5 Beast Taming Power. I don’t know how this kid is going to survive,” he thought.

He has a good impression of Jeremy Night because Jeremy Night is the son of the City Governor from City C. He doesn’t want the big families to bully Jeremy Night.

After casting a glance at the main street, he returned to his office. The Guards who recognized Jeremy Night couldn’t help but discuss in a low tone.

Though they didn’t know about the whole issue, they knew someone was after student Jeremy Night.

”It’s a pity that student Jeremy Night is a good lad!”

”I don’t know who is targeting him.”

The Guards spoke to each other.

Time passed.

The cab landed in front of Central University 14. Jeremy stepped out of the flying cab and then paid the fare to the driver when the cab drove away.

He turned around to enter the University. Just as he was about to enter, he found out that the old guards had been replaced by new ones.

A quick gleam flashed in his eyes. He forgot that he had complained about the guards. He wondered about the development and then showed his identity card to the new guards before going inside.

Soon, he reached the dormitory and returned to his room.

The next morning,

Jeremy woke up late. After getting out of bed, he carried out his morning routine. It didn’t take long for him to complete the routine.

Then he sat back on his sofa and began to ponder. There was still time left for the class. He thought of something before taking out his digital device. He started searching for information about the Red Squad Team.

Yesterday, he heard something for the first time. Apart from the big forces, the Mercenaries came second in influence.

So when he was looking up the information, the list of top 10 Mercenary Teams showed up.

[Current Rankings]

[1. Absolute Mercenary Squad]

[2. The Three Heads Squad]

[10. Red Squad Team]

After reading the information, his eyes flickered in surprise. Because the team he was looking for was actually a bottom-level team.

This news was a great shock to him. He could still remember the reaction of the staff. They had been scared of the Red Squad Team.

Not only them, but the expression of the City Guard Captain was also not good. But it’s just the 10th team. What about the top 3 teams?

If they had targeted him, then what would be their reaction?

The next moment, he cast aside the thoughts before searching more about the Red Squad Team.

Shortly afterwards,

He found a relevant article and started to read it. When he finished reading a few minutes later, a look of understanding dawned on him.

The Red Squad Team is a pretty big team. The beast tamers come from various backgrounds. He also found out that some of their families are famous families in City A.

Jeremy then stopped looking at future articles. He had a good idea about what’s going on. He thought someone from the Red Squad Team might have accepted an underground network’s task to kill him.

Unlike the previous Mercenaries, this time he was able to know the name of the team. If he could better coordinate with Captain Nathan and others, then the mastermind could be caught.

But he still didn’t know whether the City Police or City Admin had ways to handle the underground network. He felt a headache thinking about it.

Then he went to take a bath. He spent 20 minutes in the bath before walking out. He then started to get ready.

About 30 minutes later,

Jeremy walked out of the dormitory with a solemn expression on his face. Soon, he started walking back to the department building.

It didn’t take long for him to reach the department building. Soon, he returned to the class. There he saw his department members and Instructor Jacob.

When he met Instructor Jacob’s eyes, he was stunned.

”Jeremy, when did you return?” Jacob asked.

Hearing that, Jeremy smiled and walked inside the class.

He replied, ”I returned yesterday.”

He then sat in his seat. The gazes of Betsy and Daniel changed. They felt Jeremy Night appeared different than before.

The changes only happened when someone had a breakthrough.

Not only did Betsy and Daniel feel the change, but even Instructor Jacob felt the change in Jeremy Night. But he didn’t dwell on it.

Because there was something else more important he wanted to discuss with Jeremy Night.

”Jeremy, once the class is over, I will take you to see Elder Derek. He has something to discuss with you,” Jacob said.

”Okay,” Jeremy replied.

”If you guys want to fight against corrupted beasts, use the training ground. I’ll talk to Elder Ariel. She will arrange things. But if you want to wait for Jeremy to take you to the wilderness, it will take a lot of them,” he added.

”This?” Betsy was stunned.

She didn’t expect the Instructor to see through their thoughts.

”Instructor, what happened?” Daniel asked.

Jacob realized his mistake. He couldn’t share things with these two. If they learned about what Jeremy Night was facing, then they would be shocked to the core.

At the same time, Jeremy was stunned as well. He hadn’t expected Instructor Jacob to lose his composure.

”I don’t have time. I’m thinking about going back home to meet my parents,” Jeremy said all of a sudden.

Hearing that, Jacob’s eyes flashed with relief. He was thankful that Jeremy came for his timely rescue.

”Brother Jeremy, you are going home?” Daniel asked.

”No wonder,” Betsy uttered.

”Yes,” Jeremy replied.

Although he said it on a whim, he was now genuinely thinking about visiting his parents.
