Pillar of Yita

At the time of departure, Lady Zhang Rou’s eyes turned red again, as she held the hands of her son and daughter, giving countless instructions. Meanwhile, Fang Hong’s uncle just told him that once back on Earth, he would help him find that notebook, which should be placed somewhere in the old house.

Fang Hong realized that he couldn’t bear to see his aunt cry any more, so he hurriedly sneaked onto the ship, unable to stop himself from wiping the corners of his eyes. This farewell, who knows when they will meet again next time. It’s not that one can’t return to Earth from Stargate Port, but there are limitations.

When Tang Xin returned to the ship, her eyes were red as well, which caused Ai Xiaoxiao, who had just bid farewell to her parents, to also burst into tears. Fang Hong looked at his cousin and felt a bit guilty; if it weren’t for him, she wouldn’t have stayed here against her will.

But parting has its time. As the ship slowly sailed out of the port, following the towering shadow of the Berio, the group of his uncle and aunt became tiny black dots on the pier. It wasn’t long before Fang Hong saw the idle Princess Briana on his own ship and was startled:

”Princess, why aren’t you on your own ship?”

Briana looked at him mischievously: ”Didn’t anyone tell you I’m a Wind Elemental Aptitude bearer? Of course, I ’flew’ over myself.”

Throughout history, many heroes have been Wind Elemental Aptitude bearers, including Miss Miya. As a person without Elemental Affinity, Fang Hong could only feel envy and jealousy.

”By the way, I’m going to borrow your captain’s room; I’ve been staying with Hilveld these days. You don’t mind, do you?”

”Huh?”

”What’s ’huh’ about it? It’s decided.”

As per the original plan, the Seven Seas Traveler and the Berio would sail along a commonly used route towards Fenris, then turn towards Rainbow Sky Canyon. Crossing Cloud Harbor wouldn’t take too long, and if everything went smoothly, Elpaxin’s land edge could be seen in less than a week.

But plans can’t keep up with changes. Fang Hong soon realized that the day he chose was not ideal. Not long after setting sail, a storm gathered over Sky Sea, with raging winds and thunder. They took a little over three days to navigate out of the stormy waters, but were already far off course. After measuring elements, they found that this area was not in the sea region where Fenris Isle was located, but closer to the Ancient Tower Coast.

This sea region lies to the east of Fenris Isle, south of Elpaxin. According to records of past Navigators, the air currents here are complex, with only a few seldom-used routes passing through.

However, the old captain of the Berio was experienced and told them that following the winding coastline northward could still lead to Rainbow Sky Canyon. However, both ships need to find a nearby place to resupply and rest first. To the north, there is a city called Iron Cliff Port, which should be a good stopover.

Iron Cliff Port, in fact, is one of the largest ports of the Ancient Tower people along this coastline, across the sea from Fenris’s Cloud Harbor, with a trade route connecting the two ports. However, because of the climatic conditions, the sea route leading to other directions from this coastline is only safe for a few months of the year.

This has resulted in this place being less prosperous compared to Elpaxin and Cloud Harbor. The Ancient Tower is in fact a somewhat closed and xenophobic place, and the locals are also filled with distrust towards the Colin people. However, for them, listed on the Colin Kingdom’s Wanted Order, this might not necessarily be a bad thing.

They arrived at the Ancient Tower Coast deep in the night, and the next morning, everyone saw the fishing boats of various sizes along the coastline. Around ten o’clock in the morning, they saw the lighthouse towering over the cape at Iron Cliff Port.

Unlike the Colin people’s enthusiasm for spacious, grand, and luxurious architectural styles, the constructions of the Ancient Tower people appear narrow and massive, like a fortress. High towers pierce the sky, with buildings perched on cliffs, even the massive sea gate is filled with towers, which makes it seem somber and oppressive.

This also relates to the living environment here. Hidden in the cold Black Forest are all sorts of undead creatures, and terrifying legends like the Ancient Monarch Hunter roam in the snowy winter woodland. Magic Guided Engineering has not yet fully taken root on this land, making it appear more like an ancient and primitive wilderness.

The sufferings of the past have shaped the extremely closed and stubborn character of the Ancient Tower people today. Their entire nation is militaristic, and this might be the most crucial reason these people managed to survive in this harsh land.

Today’s Ancient Tower people have already bid farewell to the pirate era, established their own Kingdom, and after the Huntington Dynasty era, the current king is Sarian I.

As they entered the port, Fang Hong unexpectedly saw a few ships with silver sails, their hulls painted completely red. Due to their striking appearance, he couldn’t help but look a few more times. ”Those are the Blood Ships of the Fenris people,” Princess Briana stood by the ship’s side, observing his gaze, and said with a profound smile, ”Interestingly, they have some connection to you.”

Fang Hong turned around, looking at the princess in surprise.

Other members of the Seven Seas Travel Group also seemed curious. Tianlan couldn’t help but ask: ”Sister Briana, how so?”

”After that disaster, Toragotos disappeared, and from then on, there was no news. Fenris Isle also lost its master.” Briana answered as she watched the Blood Ships.

”...When it was still around, the Colin Kingdom couldn’t intervene in the island’s affairs, but now that it’s gone, it’s as if a power vacuum suddenly appeared. Everyone wants a piece of this pie. The young king dismissed the previous old regent and assigned a confidant from the prime minister’s faction to this place.”
