Pillar of Yita

”But...” Fang Hong’s tone was somewhat urgent, how could anyone not be in such a hurry under these circumstances? No matter how indistinct the impression of his parents, they were indeed the ones who granted him life.

Su Changfeng pressed him once again: ”Don’t rush, Ade. We told you these things not intending to hide the truth from you. Do you remember the person we mentioned earlier who came to take your parents’ relics? We can’t determine if he is truly from Rekehtopa or related to them, but there are only two possibilities. It’s either an enemy or a friend.”

”Friend?”

”Just like you and your friends, your father must have had teammates in Eteliria while he was alive. Since he knows about the existence of your parents’ relics, it implies his relationship with your parents should be close. If it’s an enemy, then this is the first time in ten years that they’ve revealed their tracks. If it’s a friend, then he should at least know more about your parents than we do. Only by understanding your parents’ life can we further investigate the motive behind Rekehtopa sending you into this world.”

Only then did Fang Hong calm down, and he couldn’t help but ask: ”But isn’t there still my uncle?”

”We can’t fully trust your uncle at the moment,” Su Changfeng replied: ”But you needn’t worry, this distrust is only procedural, because for now, we haven’t discovered anything wrong in this regard. Moreover, as the person involved, I believe only you understand whether the love your uncle and aunt’s family give you is real. You needn’t worry or suspect anyone, just focus on doing your own things.”

”My own things mean keeping all this a secret, right?”

”What we talked about, Rekehtopa and the matters related to the plane crash are part of the confidentiality agreement, but the part about your uncle is not, do you understand?”

Fang Hong understood, the military should actually support him in obtaining some information from his uncle. In fact, he had a belly full of questions he wanted to ask him, about his parents being Invokers, about his uncle having been an Invoker himself, why did he not tell him?

Why so strongly oppose him becoming an Invoker?

”I have another question,” Fang Hong suddenly spoke, ”Those people who disappeared in a group with me, do they also have family members on that plane?”

Su Changfeng pondered for a moment, ”It’s possible, but right now it’s already very difficult to trace their real identities from those missing IDs.”

”I understand.”

”If your mind is very chaotic now, you can stay here and calm down.”

”No need.” Fang Hong shook his head, he was just eager to meet his uncle and aunt.

”Wait,” before he stepped out, Su Changfeng stopped him, ”Not long ago, we received information that there are significant movements of the Descendants of Flor in all airports, it seems they have not given up on tracking your whereabouts. Be careful, the north is their main stronghold, if the situation becomes extreme, you might consider going to the Empire to lie low, at least there the domestic Super Competitive League can’t get to you.”

”What about our cooperation?”

”Cooperation is a long-term matter, no need to rush. Right now, the situation in Colin Ishurian is stabilizing, and the Prime Minister’s side has shown intentions to reconcile with southern Nobles, the circumstances aren’t as complicated as before.” Su Changfeng stated.

Many believe that after the great victory in the Southern Region, the situation of the New King’s faction is improving, Colin Ishurian’s emerging political force has finally begun to take the lead. But as Fang Hong sees it, this isn’t necessarily a good thing, after all, Hilveld is still on the Kingdom’s Wanted Order.

The enemy’s wings grow stronger by the day, how could this make him happy?

Su Changfeng seemed to discern his worries, saying: ”You needn’t worry too much about that lady’s issues, politics is all about compromise. When in a weak position, the Prime Minister’s faction must show a strong stance. But once they have the initiative, they’ll consider absorbing more political forces—”

”The Magic Guided Engineering revolution brings a transformation in productivity, Colin Ishurian is at a rather special juncture, promoting democratization processes is the inevitable path for this Kingdom. I believe Colin Ishurian’s excellent politicians will understand this. Perhaps soon, that lady’s matters won’t be so important...”

Fang Hong nodded, thinking hopefully so. Their actual purpose was merely to find Hilvy’s father, not having any interest in the power struggle of the Prince or Colin Ishurian.

Su Changfeng watched the young man walk out the door and stood alone in his office dazed for a while, then after some time, a guard pushed the door open and looked at him saying: ”Captain, that cat just now?”

Su Changfeng nodded, he also heard the faint noise outside the door earlier, but after seeing the cat in Crystal Projection, he wasn’t too concerned. ”Not transformation magic?” he only asked one question. The guard shook his head.

Su Changfeng then nodded slightly: ”Nothing, go ahead.”

...

Fang Hong walked down the street somewhat dazedly, he didn’t even know how he left that place, his legs felt like they were filled with lead, weighing a thousand pounds. He could never have imagined his journey to Crosswind Harbor would turn out like this, a bombshell that caught him completely off guard, nearly shattered the life he’d lived over the past seventeen years.
