Pillar of Yita

They also discussed this matter with the underground Walnut, primarily Miss Beiji, and the other party’s views were more or less consistent with theirs.

So just like that, two days later, the Seven Seas Traveler arrived in Idris as scheduled.

...

The forest in the south of Idris is quite famous among adventurers.

The locals call it Helen Forest, and ’Helen’ has the meaning of blue in Colin language because the trees here are a crucial source of indigo dye for the Kingdom, and Idris was once renowned for its dyeing industry.

However, this place was later destroyed by war, and after the great war, Crosswind Harbor was assigned to Stargate Port. Locals harbored doubts about the Invoker and the area never regained its former vitality.

However, the so-called vitality was not just the nobles’ wallets; ordinary people enjoyed limited benefits. Today, Idris has gained a bit more of a vibrant atmosphere compared to the past.

Though the military governs this place, they do not disturb the lives of ordinary people, unlike the native nobles who are entirely different. These areas are controlled by several local guilds, but even these local guilds dare not act recklessly under the military’s watchful eyes, hence the natives and Invoker have coexisted fairly harmoniously over the past decade.

But what truly makes Helen Forest famous are the bear goblins living within it. These grey beasts once threatened the kingdom’s borders, but since the flourishing of alchemy, they are no longer a concern and have retreated to their former habitat—the forest.

In the past, they would occasionally plunder passing merchant groups, travelers, or even raid farmhouses scattered in the countryside, but ever since the Invoker came to this world, the bear goblins suddenly found that the world was not quite the same anymore.

Now it wasn’t them seeking out humans; instead, adventurers were coming to trouble them. Humanoid creatures offered better experience and loot, making them the prime choice for leveling up.

If not for the bear goblins’ quick reproduction and short growth cycle, the Invokers might have nearly exterminated them over the past decade. Yet, even so, a large number of bear goblins have retreated into the Vampire Mountain Range, living in misery.

Of course, it’s a tragedy for the bear goblins, but for the locals, the Invokers have solved a major problem for them, and the reputation of adventurers in Idris has improved as well.

Thus, a branch of the Adventurers’ Guild was established here, adventurer bars of all sizes appeared in the city, and the inn industry flourished. In less than ten years, it became an adventuring sanctuary.

Helen Forest also earned a new name because of this—Grey Bear Forest.

The grey bear goblins may soon become a mere memory in the forest.

In the forest on the outskirts of Idris City, Fang Hong had also witnessed the legendary scene—it hadn’t been long since they left the city and they encountered several adventurer teams of various sizes.

Some were leaving Idris, ready to enter the Vampire Mountain Range, while others were returning from the forest with their loads full. He had heard about this place’s fame in the community before, but experiencing it first-hand, he realized the place was truly well-deserved as an adventuring sanctuary.

He imagined that if the combat over there in the Grey Forest could continue, one day the underground of Mount Pieriad might also reenact the scene here.

Of course, there were slight differences; Fang Hong could say he had never seen a place with so many adventurers or Invokers, yet such orderliness.

In Idris, everyone seemed to be at peace, with adventurer groups not being overly vigilant of each other, even stopping to greet one another.

As for the usual conflicts between adventurers, they traversed the whole city and hadn’t seen a single instance. The reason for all this was quite simple, as Crosswind Harbor lay less than sixty kilometers from here.

Even now, the military had three warships stationed in this port.

You dare to cause trouble?

However, the orderly adventurers counts as a peculiar scene here.

It is perhaps the reason why the place appears so peaceful and harmonious. In the end, the group from underground Walnut still chose to head to the Royal Capital on their own, as hiring adventurers to escort them to Golande would cost quite a bit, and they couldn’t afford it, nor felt comfortable asking the Seven Seas Travel Group.

Of course, if they did ask, Fang Hong might not be unwilling to give them assistance, not because he was a do-gooder, but because he genuinely believed in the potential of the Walnut group—in talents and character. If they had nowhere to go in the future, he wouldn’t mind introducing them to the Forest.

Upon the moment of departure, the underground Walnut became rather silent.

They were not members of the Seven Seas Travel Group, and could be said to have not known Fang Hong and the others for long, but since traveling from Orlenze to here, they had indeed experienced many things together.

The time was short, but this experience was still richer than all he had amassed during his past engagements in the contest of art.

And the more deeply etched the memories were, the more hesitant they became at the departure, although the Seven Seas Travel Group did obtain the Earth Origin Crystal from them, the Walnut group understood the true reason they were allowed on board.

It probably wasn’t just because of the Earth Origin Crystal.
