Pillar of Yita

Sword Hong,

Xiyue——

He unconsciously stroked the words on the paper, as if he could touch the past through the handwriting.

”This is a part of the personal artifacts your parents left at Starport. We’ve projected them into this world using current technology. If you wish, once you return to Stargate Port, we can return these relics to you,” Su Changfeng said. ”However, these personal artifacts left at Starport at least indicate one thing: your parents might have originally intended to return to Stargate.”

The vague impression of his parents gradually became clearer with the other party’s description. Fang Hong felt an indescribable feeling arise in his heart, suddenly looked up, and asked, ”What do you mean by ’originally intended to return to Stargate’?”

”It’s just literally what it means.”

Fang Hong held onto that piece of paper; suddenly, there was some mist in his eyes. He thought he no longer cared because his uncle and aunt had made up for everything he lost, but in fact, that was not the case. It was as if those two abstract names were becoming concrete along with the image in his hand. The time had forever stayed in that accident, and these things had never awaited their former owner.

It was only after seventeen years that they waited for him, the child of his parents.

Tears rolled down his cheeks, falling onto the image and soaking a patch. Fang Hong hurriedly wiped them with his hand.

Su Changfeng looked at his clumsy movements and said, ”Regarding your parents, I still intend to tell you another thing, but you need to be mentally prepared.”

Fang Hong sniffed hard and looked up at him.

Su Changfeng fell silent, recalling the information he had seen during the investigation over the past days. In fact, everything had already come to light half a month ago, but he hadn’t thought about whether he should tell the other party about it and to whom he should mention it. Yet, he finally decided to speak up because everything in front of him was intricately linked to that information. Even if he didn’t say it, the other party would understand it eventually as the investigation progressed.

”But as the first relative, he should have the right to know.”

After a brief silence, Su Changfeng carefully opened his mouth and said, ”Your uncle and aunt may not be related to you by blood. Your uncle’s original name is Tang Mo, born in Changsha, Hunan. He was the only child in the family and had no siblings or distant relatives with the surname He. According to our investigation, your uncle also had the Invoker qualification and even attended the same training camp as your father. The archives show he had at least seven years of Invoker experience and was once your father’s partner—”

Before he finished speaking, with a snap, Fang Hong stepped back and knocked over the teacup on the desk. The cup rolled onto the floor and shattered into pieces, tea spilling everywhere. But Fang Hong was completely unaware, only looking at Su Changfeng in front of him with an incredulous expression.

Su Changfeng heard another slight sound coming from outside the door. He glanced in that direction, but didn’t pay much attention. Turning back, he continued to look at Fang Hong.

”You, what did you say...?”

”I said your uncle’s family is not related to you by blood. Moreover, he was also an Invoker for a period of time, returning to Earth about seven years before your father and changing his name afterward, marrying and having children.”

”But your uncle and your father were close friends, and it was for this reason that he adopted you after your parents had an accident. Here is a copy of a document with a court-issued certification and a notary’s signature. It’s a guardianship proof signed and agreed upon by relatives from your parents’ side.”

Su Changfeng opened a drawer and took out a stack of documents. ”This is the most direct proof, proving your ’uncle’s’ family’s real relationship to you. In fact, because your uncle and parents were Invokers, it took us a lot of effort to get these records from the court system, as they are classified.”

Fang Hong stood there, stiff as wood.

”Ade,” Su Changfeng called him by his name in this world, ”you shouldn’t blame them. You should understand this is a kind lie.”

But Fang Hong didn’t say a word.

As if the understanding from over ten years instantly collapsed, he didn’t doubt that his uncle’s family had any ill intentions towards him. Some things could be faked, but the love his uncle and aunt gave him was real. But why did they do this? He thought about his experience of coming to this world. His parents were also Invokers, just like his uncle, yet why did they so strongly oppose his coming to this world?

He wasn’t stupid. He almost immediately thought of this point. That notebook in the Grand Princess’s hand, the one in his uncle’s study, and those little Eteliria items he saw as a child.

The reason they were there turned out to be simple, because his uncle had originally been to this world too.

”But why tell me these things?” Fang Hong asked in a barely audible voice.

”Remember the thing I mentioned to you last time, that the Snakehead who brought you into the Stargate died in the confinement room at Stargate Port? And there’s another thing I didn’t tell you at the time. Do you remember how you contacted that person?”

Fang Hong vaguely recalled the events of that time. How did he contact that Snakehead? Of course, he proactively sought him out. But suddenly, a flash of insight appeared in his mind, as if somehow filling in the details of that time, making him suddenly recall something.
