Pillar of Yita

”A part of the... Annihilator?”

Fang Hong looked at Miss Tata sitting at his desk, his tone a little unsure.

Tata gently placed the white porcelain cup on the saucer and pressed her hands on her knees, nodding slightly. ”Generally speaking, the Annihilator is composed of several universal Magic Guided Components, which might include Lesser Scorching Ray, Light Rain, Gravity Technique, Ice Cone, Force Field Spear, and Dissolving Ray, among others. Most of these components can be interchanged and combined to create different configurations; along with irreplaceable parts—such as the Core Crystal, visual system, cooling system, and floating system—all together forming the Annihilator as a whole.”

”But among these Magic Guided Components, only a portion can be swapped because usually, considering both offense and defense, people tend to include the Annihilator’s only defensive system.” As she spoke, she raised her hand and projected a light screen in front of Fang Hong.

The light screen unfolded from front to back into a five-layer structure, each layer a page of the Annihilator’s internal structural blueprint, all five together forming the entire Annihilator. Miss Fairy gently lifted one of her fingers and pulled out a page from them, which Fang Hong clearly saw—it was the blueprint of the Annihilator’s defensive component.

Shining Shield—

He had fought with Red Leaf before, and at that time Red Leaf used the Overload Stream against him, employing the Annihilator as the Magic Guided Construct. He himself had also used this type of Construct more than once and naturally understood the basic operating principles of the Shining Shield.

Though he wasn’t an inheritor of the Magic Guided School Constructs, he had indeed interacted with high-end Magic Guided Constructs like Yinhanz and Sea Witch Configuration, but hadn’t yet switched his train of thought. Until this moment, when he saw the enlarged blueprint Tata presented to him, a flash of insight sparkled in his mind.

Yes, it can be done like this!

The Shining Shield itself can be seen as a miniaturized, simplified version of the Clockwork Fairy, but it is not only much smaller than the Clockwork Fairy but can also generate a surprisingly robust Force Field Shield from its internal Magic Guided Components.

Due to the shield’s flying capability, it is considered quite agile, complementing the cumbersome and slow Annihilator perfectly. In fact, before officially becoming an Invoker, Luo Yu dismantled the Shining Shield from the Annihilator and transformed it into a defensive Clockwork Fairy for the opponent to use.

Therefore, Fang Hong was not unfamiliar with this mechanism and understood why the Shining Shield could be made so small.

The principle is quite simple: besides the Array, it has no cooling system or other necessary core systems, just a highly simplified flying system. When you combine these two systems, the flying system takes up most of the space, and how much space can an Array for a Force Field Shield occupy?

As he previously mentioned, in Magic Guided Constructs, the real space consumption comes from the storage system rather than the Array. However, the Shining Shield lacks this storage system and the Core Crystal, strictly speaking, it is not considered an independent Flexible Construct, but an attached Construct.

Or as commonly referred to—a parasitic Construct.

It must rely on the Annihilator to operate, receiving Magic Power from the Annihilator’s Main Core Crystal, so it does not need its own Main Core Crystal, only a Resonance Crystal.

Fang Hong almost immediately realized this could be a feasible idea; Magic Power can be transmitted remotely, although there are distance limitations, such as for the Annihilator, the Shining Shield cannot exceed a ten-foot range. This distance is naturally far from enough for Clockwork Fairy, but if the Magic Transmission device is enlarged, it’s possible to extend the transmission limit to ten times within.

A hundred feet, still sounds a bit short. Centered around the Seven Seas Traveler, the Clockwork Fairy becomes a defensive Agility Construct rather than offensive or scouting.

But consider a different approach, what if not using the Seven Seas Traveler as the platform?

Fang Hong looked at Miss Tata, her emerald green eyes seemed to calm his mind, leading him to consider a certain possibility.

Spear Cavalry—

Using Spear Cavalry as the platform, the Spear Cavalry system is so simple that its Main Core Crystal has a massive power output surplus, and using the remainder to support the output of several Clockwork Fairies is more than sufficient.

Fang Hong instantly calculated this surplus: one Spear Cavalry can support approximately six Silver Bees and guarantee a roughly six-second output recharge cycle for them. Although the output of a single Silver Bee is far below Spear Cavalry, with significant numbers, the overall amount becomes substantial.

If the Seven Seas Traveler can mobilize forty Spear Cavalries, it can simultaneously sustain two hundred forty Silver Bees in combat, so much so that he may not even be able to control that many Silver Bees, thus the platform is more than adequate.

Moreover, the Magic Power used by Spear Cavalries comes from the Main Core Crystal of the Seven Seas Traveler, thus there would never be a shortage of Magic Power.

Again, because the Shining Shield entirely lacks an independent Core Crystal, it cannot fly too far from the Annihilator, but Silver Bees do not have this restriction because, as a Clockwork Fairy, they can retain their own Main Core Crystals. This way, even on scouting missions, as long as the offensive capabilities are not activated, they can detach from the platform to complete tasks independently.
