Pillar of Yita

Fang Hong sensed through the Ether contact that he had lost the shadow of his flexible construct, realized what had happened, quickly lifted his wind goggles, and looked in that direction. The shadow had disappeared a few hundred feet from his Clockwork Fairy and then circled behind it in an instant. What kind of speed was this?

Or perhaps there was more than one ’creature’ there.

But as Fang Hong turned to look towards that direction, he suddenly felt his hair stand on end. He saw two dark red lights appear in that direction, and those lights were none other than the prismatic pupils of Lifegard, glittering coldly.

He should have thought of it earlier; the Lifegard killed by Ye Hua was just a phantom, and phantoms can’t really die. It could appear in the valley below, so naturally, it could appear here as well.

The blood servants summoned by Seniman were just a trick to deceive everyone. That cunning old fox must have summoned Lifegard to the great hall from the outset, waiting for him and the Princess to come.

The two golden-red lights flickered slightly in the dark and then disappeared. Previously, when he saw this Dragon King’s phantom battling Ye Hua, it seemed slow, but when he faced it himself, he realized just how vast the difference in strength was.

The Golden Flame Eyes had just vanished, and Fang Hong had no perception, when suddenly he felt himself being violently struck from behind, losing his footing and rolling to the side.

As he was falling, a gust swept over just above his head. It was the cutting claw of Lifegard, glittering coldly. Had he not been knocked down, that claw would have taken his life.

It was Princess Rupert who had knocked him over. After crashing into him, the Princess rolled to the ground, propped herself up with a hand on the ground, stood up holding a longsword, and watched ahead warily.

Lifegard missed with its claw, twisted in the air, flapped its wings, and flew back, landing lightly on the ground. Even a light flap of its wings sent a gust strong enough to make them both lose their footing.

Fang Hong, covered in dust, looked up only to find Lifegard landing not far from the Princess. The Grand Princess stood with her sword in both hands, shielding him from the Dark Dragon King.

Fang Hong’s heart tightened as he glanced back; the entrance to the great hall was a long way away. This Dark Dragon King was evidently quite cunning, waiting to attack only after they had ventured deep into the hall.

In fact, it probably intended to wait for an even more certain opportunity but didn’t expect to be discovered by him.

Princess Rupert had barely gotten to her feet, while the Dark Giant Dragon had already lightly landed, pushing off the ground with its claws and flapping its wings to pounce again, emitting a low roar and swiping a claw forward.

In Fang Hong’s vision, he saw almost only a shadow flicker, then heard the clash of metal and the Princess’s muffled cry. Then, the Grand Princess was sent flying, hitting a stone pillar with a ’boom’, and slid down, her face covered in blood, unconscious.

But Lifegard evidently wasn’t planning to stop there. It stepped back slightly, raised its head, black flames flickered at its mouth, wings spread wide, eyes narrowed, ready to breathe fire.

Fang Hong had seen the power of the Dark Giant Dragon’s dragon flame; if it breathed down, the Grand Princess would likely perish, her body completely destroyed. Besides, even though this was a phantom of the Dark Giant Dragon, it was spawned from the Dika Dream, and this was a world constructed under the power of the Star of Calamity. Who knows if one can truly revive after dying here?

In his anxiety, Fang Hong suddenly thought of something, raised his hand, used his teeth to tear off the strap, and with a ’swish’, the Pride of the Lonely King fell from his hand, revealing the silver mark on the back of his hand—before entering this world he had already checked, and after losing his right arm, this mark appeared on the back of his left hand.

Evidently, the Pale Glory was using him, not his right arm, as its host.

He stood up, raised his left hand, and shouted at the opponent:

”Hey over here, you big lizard!”

This taunt indeed had an effect. Lifegard’s massive phantom halted its breathing action, tilted its head, and its cold, glittering eyes looked over at him.

Fang Hong raised his left hand high, internally chanting repeatedly: ”Pale Glory, Pale Glory!” Every time he faced a Dark Giant Dragon, whether it was Nikopolas or Toragotos, this was his trump card to reverse the situation at the crucial moment.

The Dark Giant Dragon’s fear of Pale Glory seemed ingrained in its very being. Moreover, in this world, Pale Glory was one of the sources of power, something Ye Hua had told them about.

But to Fang Hong’s immense surprise, the mark that had always worked before seemed to fall into a dead silence at this moment. No matter how he chanted in his heart, the mark on the back of his hand showed no response.

He chanted it three times, yet nothing happened in the darkness. Instead, he stood there, hand raised, facing the extremely dangerous Dark Giant Dragon, looking like a fool.

The only apparent change was that Princess Rupert seemed safe for now. But Fang Hong quickly realized that while the Princess was safe, his own situation seemed rather dire.
