Pillar of Yita

Three Sand Thief Knights had long turned to charcoal, like sand, slowly falling.

The King of the Sand Thief watched this scene in shock, unsure if it was the force of that arrow or the fleeting lightning that startled him.

But on the other side, Fang Hong was even more uneasy.

Ye Hua’s voice immediately echoed. ”Ade, hold the King of the Sand Thief.”

Fang Hong understood the other’s intention and nodded at once. But before that, he looked up at the unsettling presence above the clouds.

The red light dimmed slightly, evidently, the previous strike had consumed quite a bit of the ’Light Cocoon’s’ strength. But why did Dika intervene to save that King of the Sand Thief?

He didn’t have time to ponder much, already raising his right hand forward.

On the other side, Mahazar finally snapped out of his brief stupor. He quickly realized that the battlefield held a foe far stronger than himself. His ambitions, instantly vanished. The electric light brewing within the clouds didn’t provide much comfort either. The source of that power was all too clear to him.

He couldn’t afford any other thoughts, tightened the reins and ordered everyone: ”Retreat.”

”Leave this godforsaken place, immediately!”

If he were surrounded by ordinary Sand Thieves, such a command might cause hesitation. But at this moment, his companions were all trusted allies. Upon hearing the order, they immediately turned around without a word.

Just at that moment, a Claw Hook shot forth.

...

Outside Kashan Palace, the distant sounds of battle had long dwindled.

Just like an epic battle drawing to a close, slowly concluding, it could only represent the end of various skirmishes, with Guards and Knights abandoning their defenses, silently regrouping their forces. From afar, the silent stream of people gradually converged towards the Royal Palace direction, passing by the lifeless bodies, most of which were likely their former comrades.

This quietude does not signify the end, as the clouds hanging low in the sky seem to foreshadow an inevitable outcome—signs of total destruction.

”You mean, Captain Ade intends to personally snipe Mahazar?” Princess Rupert asked softly, her gaze unusually calm, tranquil as water, silently watching Miss Nightingale before her. In response to her inquiry, Elisa merely nodded gently.

”It’s not just the Captain, but also Mister Ye Hua, one of the Ten Kings on our side. Princess Rupert, you must have heard of him?”

The Princess nodded silently.

She cast her gaze beyond the city ramparts, the Inner City direction lay in darkness, yet there still streamed an continuous influx of the Sand Thieves. At that moment, she found herself at a loss for words, as the King of the Sand Thief was no longer important, at this point, the Sand Thieves were unlikely to abandon this almost assured victory.

Unless the Inner City could organize another counterattack, completely dismantling the enemy’s offensive, instilling them with a deep sense of dread. Without the leadership of the King of the Sand Thief, the Sand Thieves, like a dragon without its head, might be struck by fear. In that moment, they could potentially seize the opportunity—

But the walls of Kashan Palace are not high enough, not strong enough to allow these leftover troops to repel a direct attack from the Sand Thieves.

However, should the King of the Sand Thief perish, it could alleviate some pressure on this side. Moreover, since Ade has already taken action, notifying them now would be too late. Thus, ultimately, Princess Rupert remained silent, only saying:

”Miss Elisa, go find your Captain. I’m not quite at ease with things over there, especially since King of the Sand Thief Mahazar remains a legend in our stories.”

Hearing the Princess’s words, Elisa began to feel a trace of unease, hesitating only slightly while looking at the other. ”What about here?”

”Leave it to me,” the Grand Princess said with a faint gaze. ”If things succeed over there, the pressure here will be greatly reduced.”

Upon hearing this, Elisa hesitated no longer, bowed her head to the Grand Princess, and took her leave.

Rupert also nodded in return, but watching the other’s departing silhouette, she thought of leaving Kashan Palace and its conflicts behind, the other party might be slightly safer. As for the Captain’s cousin, currently inside Kashan Palace, it’s time to think of a plan to move her out.

She questioned herself internally, feeling that everything has been arranged. What’s left is to wait for the fate shared with the Royal Palace or the arrival of a miracle...

...

Shooting straight towards the King of the Sand Thief and his side’s dozens to hundreds of elite Lizard Knights; how would someone describe what Fang Hong felt at that moment? Fang Hong might answer—exhilarating.

What Fang Hong saw was a forest of long spears and Short Guns pointed at him, and countless black muzzles. At that instant, his blood seemed to reverse, surging into his brain, even time seemed to slow down. Just in the next second, he’d be shot to pieces in mid-air, and the words he spoke before flying were still echoing in the air:

”Great God, can you locate amidst the smoke?”

”As long as you give me the position—”

”Understood.”

Fang Hong raised his right hand, slicing downward from above.

The glowing Pure White Light Array rotated layer upon layer, unfolding from above his head, while the Knight Colossus suddenly descended from within the Light Array. And at that moment, countless sparks shone on the Orphen Twins Stars’ Great Shield, clanging endlessly.

Then with a thunderous boom, the Colossus landed, the Knights below swiftly dismounted and scattered. Only a few Sand Lizards failed to escape in time, were crushed by the Knight Colossus, turning into a smear of meat paste. As the Colossus landed, the surrounding dust, sand, and Ashes were lifted high, forming a swirling fog.

In the next moment, Fang Hong flipped and rolled, landing on the ground. He held the Orphen Twins Stars’ Armor with one hand, raising his head to look in the direction of the King of the Sand Thief in his memory.
