Pillar of Yita

About ten minutes later, the girl came back holding her skirt, her face slightly pale. She hesitated for a moment before opening her mouth—

But the deafening roar from outside drowned out her voice.

The explosion’s flash reflected between them, as Hilveld silently watched the other person. Florence made a gesture before saying, ”Lord Earl is unwilling to take this risk, Hilveld, I think it’s better for you to give up.”

She sighed. ”Do you think they care about the alliance between Istania and Colin? Besides, the King of Sand isn’t here at all, that’s the covenant between the Colin Royal Family and every King of Sand.”

Hilveld smiled slightly, not mentioning Aleph, understanding that a Crown Prince wouldn’t be of much use at this moment. An explosion sounded, the dazzling flash reflecting on her profile, like a crescent moon.

”Florence, go and tell them one more thing.”

There was a sly glimmer in her eyes. ”Just say... I am here, fallen into the hands of the Sand Thieves...”

”By the way, take this as well.” The noble lady pulled the pendant from her necklace from her collar and handed it to the girl.

Florence widened her eyes, looking at the other with some disbelief.

...

After rushing out from the back door of the Great Holy Cathedral, Fang Hong immediately said to the others, ”We’ll split up, you go to Kashan Palace to meet up with the Grand Princess, she definitely needs manpower there.” He especially looked towards Luo Yu. ”Especially you, Luo Yu, you’ve already died once.”

Luo Yu looked at him, his gaze silent, only nodding lightly.

The knights also crossed their arms over their chests, exchanging their unique salutations with him: ”Captain Ade, be careful.”

”Captain Ade, take care.”

Then everyone parted ways. All knew how precious time was now, leaving no room for error.

Fang Hong then turned around, and while moving forward, he raised a hand to turn the copper ring beside the wind goggles—through the imbedded Video Crystal, looking down from the Clockwork Fairy’s vision from above—the Mahazar and his retinue were turning in this direction on the battlefield.

He discreetly made a gesture, letting the Clockwork Fairy fly a circle but couldn’t find the position of the opponent’s phantom hawk, so he gave up; finally, he slightly raised his hand, fixing his vision above, on the dark red object among the clouds, the pulsating halo within seemed to be gestating something, resembling a fetus in motion, contracting, resembling a bloodshot eyeball, staring at the earth.

From the moment he entered Quistack, he had noticed this thing, only he couldn’t spend time on it to stop the Sand Thieves. Until now, he finally had a chance to carefully observe this entity. Specifically speaking—this divine abomination, the distorted incarnation of divine power, just like his cousin Tang Xin, he immediately recognized this thing.

In Eteliria’s history of the descent of Evil God’s incarnation, a few instances had occurred in thirty years, leaving behind many precious visual records, these incidents varied in magnitude, divided into a total of five classes by severity level. The smallest class could only be described as a divine power incident, whenever there was a holocaust ritual for an Evil God, or a congregation of believers, they belonged to this class.

Moving up requires a large-scale ritual, continuous disappearance of people, summoning divine power creatures, or the birth of an Elect, all belonged to the second and third event categories, classified by severity level, but none involved true divine power invasion. Starting from the fourth class, it becomes divine power contact.

Quistack at present, like Fenris in the past, both belong to divine power invasion, but not yet reaching the final step of the Evil God’s incarnation descending. Once it descends, it would be cataclysmic, Quistack being on a continental plate, though unlikely to sink, but once Dika’s incarnation descends, this city might be completely erased from the map—

Even more thoroughly than Idus.

Fang Hong looked at the red halo among the clouds, its pulsating tremors nauseating, it was actually a ’cocoon,’ inside which gestated Dika’s incarnation. Nourishing it were countless souls and blood rain, but unlike most Evil Gods that gain power from souls’ despair, pain, and agony—

Dika was different from them, what it truly needed was ’devotees.’

Those who believe in him, blindly follow him, ignorant, stubborn souls.

Fang Hong surveyed the battlefield, blind followers’ rituals often unfolded within, guiding those blind, stubborn people to jump into the fire pit, just like a scene played out in the Phantom Sea, the obsession in their hearts guiding people to worship what they shouldn’t.

This battlefield, unlike blind followers’ traditional ritual approach, was more like the handiwork of Dragon Worship Sect followers. It was eerily similar to Dolifen of thirty years ago, if not for knowing blind followers were involved in all of this, Fang Hong would’ve almost suspected, what was gestating in the red light, was Nikopolas.

His thoughts were quickly interrupted by Ye Hua’s voice from the Communication Crystal: ”Ade, you are very close to me now. Go forward, make a right turn at an intersection, and proceed about a hundred meters. But be careful, Mahazar is already very close to you.”

”Got it.” Fang Hong replied. He no longer paid attention to the entity among the clouds, striding forward again. Behind him came the soft rustling in the mist, the footsteps of Sand Lizards, a creature quite light and agile.

A broad avenue came into his view.

A hundred meters from the ambush zone.
