Pillar of Yita

”Within this light, there’s another world hidden. The notes recorded actually provide a method to reach this world. When we were all at a loss, it was your mother who used her wisdom to find clues from it.”

”And it,” he sighed softly, turning around to look at the dim sky outside the Royal Palace, ”is the only way to resolve everything at this moment.”

Princess Rupert quietly watched the azure light, flowing slowly like a dream.

She seemed to have had a dream, dreaming of her mother standing in that light. Everything was like a memory from long ago, when she was still a child, listening to her mother tell stories of distant places.

The distant places in those stories seemed almost within reach.

But she had grown up, inheriting her father’s steadiness: ”What is that method?”

The other person slowly began to speak, like telling an ancient story...

A thousand years ago, the Star of Calamity descended to the world.

A star named Verdant shone upon the earth, bringing dark power, and from it bore Giants, Nagas, and the Dark Giant Dragon.

The legends of the Dark Saints began from that era, lingering in this world. After a long war, Elves defeated Giants, mortals also slew the Dark Giant Dragon, and drove the Naga Clan to the overseas of Hanruina.

But the pain brought by the long war never ceased for a moment, the sorrowful story of the Dragon Slayer, the Numelin Elves who left this continent, the pure Silver Moon never again shone upon Aithelin’s land since then.

And few knew how the Elves achieved their final victory—

They only left a record of those times on ancient Slates.

The Elves believed, Verdant came from another world, bringing everything dark from that world. And with the help of the Oulin Gods, they forged five Holy Relics from Verdant’s fragments.

And gained a kind of near-original strength—Pale Glory.

With such strength, mortals finally won that war.

”But for a thousand years, no one knows how the Oulin Gods forged such seemingly opposing strength from the Verdant Star—”

”The Elves explained that secret, but were powerless, eventually leaving only five Holy Relics as the last reliances of that era. The Oulin Gods avoided mentioning anything about the Holy Relics since that time as if from then on, they would never mention anything about the relics again...”

”Only those five remaining Holy Relics seem still a guide, guiding people on how to find all the past and the secrets left by the Elves...”

”About the Star of Calamity, about Eteliria, about... the Gateways of the three worlds...”

The man looked up at everyone. The splendid light shone in his eyes, like a glimmering ghostly light. ”Princess, ever since your mother passed away, we, along with the King of Sand, Barbaltan, have been trying to uncover this secret for many years. We haven’t gained much, but at least we aren’t entirely fruitless either.”

”The Pale Glory upon this Crystal is not its true form, in its stimulated state, it can last for about a few hours. And those few hours are our last chance remaining.”

Princess Rupert listened silently.

”With it,” she asked, ”can we repel the twisted avatar of Dika?”

”No,” the other person shook his head again, ”its true purpose is to let us enter another world. A world with only Starlight, where Deities lie in a long slumber, and there, we have our only chance to stop Dika’s resurrection.”

At these words, Fang Hong blurted out:

”We, go to challenge a Deity?”

”No.”

The other person looked at him, replied: ”A Deity still in the process of awakening.”

But that was almost the same, Fang Hong thought.

Silence spun around the hall, like a beast swallowing everyone’s voices.

Leaving only the faint sound of breathing.
