Pillar of Yita

He could only barely hold his breath and look around.

The dense fog shrouded the light of Stars and Moon, plunging the surroundings into complete darkness, and in the darkness, the traces of the Sand Thieves were nowhere to be seen, though painful groans occasionally came through.

Earlier, more than twenty Fire Giants were released, creating explosions that could cover an area almost the size of two football fields, but that was merely light and shock waves, the actual destructive range was much smaller. Around, Sand Thieves were mostly just injured, with actual deaths being few.

Shock waves above Level 15 were hardly effective, mainly relying on the flame damage in the core area to inflict damage, but that range was quite concerning. The Sand Thieves’ levels were mixed, but averaged at least equivalent to Xiangzi and Parker from two or three months ago, typically over Level 16.

He sighed, but could only accept this outcome, yet somehow felt that since Fanric, his own level increased, and the enemies he faced became more formidable than before, making his formerly pride-worthy tactics seem a bit stretched thin.

Both the Energy Angel and the Fire Giant seemed somewhat outdated. Especially the Fire Giant was updated in Tansnier to be smaller, denser, and more numerous to enhance its power when used, yet even so, it felt insufficient now.

As for the Energy Angel, it almost fell to the status of a functional construct, something that was his main output construct not long ago. He didn’t know if he was lamenting his own rapid level up, or his troublesome ability was too strong, as the enemies’ level up far outpaced the growth of the Seven Seas Travel Group.

However, this thought flashed across his mind.

After all, on this battlefield, there wasn’t much he could do to enhance his construct strength, just a pity that those constructs discovered at the Tansnier Smuggling Port couldn’t be kept, otherwise they could greatly bolster his combat power. A Combat Artisan’s strength really was tied to the constructs they possessed.

This is why, outside of Grand Guilds, it’s rare to be able to afford a top-tier Combat Artisan.

The Sand Thieves were blasted into chaos by the earlier explosion, even if not dead, they’ve lost much of their courage. They barely gathered amidst the smoke and dust, yet couldn’t quite grasp the situation; Fang Hong quickly passed through the passage created by the explosion, through the smoke and dust, only turning back to look.

Sure enough, amidst the smoke and dust, no one pursued, only outside the gap created by the explosion, on either side, a squad of lizard cavalry was charging this way.

He wasn’t planning to use any more Fire Giants; after all, those were limited in number, he merely raised his head to look forward where the city walls stood towering before him—he gently pressed the Information Crystal, summoning the Siren Gears, then lifted both hands—a layer of arrays appeared on the ground, soil underneath raised step by step through countless points of light, forming a dozen meters-long staircase in an instant.

Fang Hong was nearly exhausted, but immediately put away the Siren Gears, walked forward, and climbed up the inner city wall.

The lizard cavalry of the Sand Thieves reached the staircase, hesitated for a moment, seemingly attempting to imitate him. But before they could lift a foot off, the soil staircase crumbled like sand in the wind, falling back into dust on the ground.

The Sand Thieves who stepped onto the staircase took a solid fall.

Fang Hong reached the battlements, glanced back at these people, and couldn’t help but shake his head. Then he turned his gaze elsewhere, raising his head to look into the distance, his eyes first resting on the figures of the Sand Thief King Mahazar and the elite Sand Thieves surrounding him.

The opponents were bypassing the tower ruins, encircling towards Kashan Palace.

At this moment, the sound of the Dragon Horn echoed on the battlefield for the second time.

Low, woeful, the chilling sound seemed to send a shiver down everyone’s spine.

But Fang Hong just silently watched this scene until the Communication Crystal in his hand lit up, and a somewhat hoarse voice transmitted from the team channel: ”Brother Ade, are you there?”

”Tianlan?”

”Chairman Ye Hua is with me, he wants to speak with you.”

Next came Ye Hua’s voice: ”Ade, have you seen Mahazar?”

Fang Hong merely hesitated slightly, quickly nodded and replied: ”I saw him.”

”If you can think of a way to create an opportunity, I can kill him,” Ye Hua said calmly.

Surprise flashed in Fang Hong’s eyes, he looked in that direction, almost asking immediately: ”What should I do?”

”Think of a way to lure him out from the Sand Thieves army—”

”The Sand Thief King Mahazar is about Level 40, if given the chance, I can easily kill him. But he has too many people around him, I’m a Ranger, not an Odin-like warrior, even with arrows, I must get close within a certain range, around one or two miles—”

”As long as you can find a way to pull him out from the main force, I can find an opportunity to kill him.”

Fang Hong was silent for a moment, knowing that the opponent didn’t have their Dragon Knight Rigging on hand, otherwise it wouldn’t be this troublesome. But looking in that direction, an idea suddenly flashed in his mind, nodded and said: ”I can try.”

”Be careful,” Ye Hua quickly reminded: ”Mahazar is much stronger than you, relatively Level 40, plus the elite Sand Thieves around him won’t be far behind in level. Later I’ll remind you promptly what skills to guard against, keep the team channel clear—”

”Brother Ade, be careful,” Tianlan also said immediately.

”I understand.”

Fang Hong once again nodded.
