Pillar of Yita

Do you think he’ll go after his daughter, or will it be trouble for him?

He couldn’t help but think that the Princess of Silver Weslan was just too good at causing him trouble. As he racked his brains trying to figure out how to distance himself to avoid being the scapegoat, he didn’t expect Su Changfeng to understand just by looking at his blank expression.

He patted Fang Hong’s shoulder vigorously, speaking earnestly: ”That girl has been strong-willed since she was young, you should give her some leeway.”

Fang Hong looked puzzled: ”????”

Only then did Su Changfeng change the subject: ”I heard you’re heading to Idus?”

Fang Hong, hearing the question, instinctively nodded and replied: ”That place was destroyed by Nikopolas. In fact, before heading to Fanric, Idus was already one of our destinations.”

Wait a minute, he realized he wasn’t supposed to be explaining that, but rather clearing up the other’s misunderstanding. Just as he was about to speak, Su Changfeng asked again:

”Are you planning to take your cousin and her friend with you?”

This question caught Fang Hong off guard, throwing his previous thoughts to the back of his mind as he looked at the other in puzzlement.

”Your adventure group’s level is not high; bringing along two newcomers can be very dangerous.”

”Can you convince Tang Xin and them to stay in Fanric?” Fang Hong had actually considered this issue before, and asked impulsively.

”No,” Su Changfeng answered, ”Besides, persuading them to stay isn’t a long-term solution; we have another way.”

”A long-term solution?” Fang Hong felt a great deal of confusion. What kind of way of putting it is that?

And Su Changfeng coughed heavily twice: ”Three months isn’t short.”

Is that long?

Fang Hong felt there was more to his words, but asked anyway: ”So, what way does Captain Su have?”

”The solution is actually quite simple,” Su Changfeng took out two sets of glow object equipment from his arms: ”You can solve it like that little girl in your team, the one named Tianlan. Let them temporarily become Invokers, and once their level is up, they won’t be newcomers anymore.”

Fang Hong looked at him, dumbfounded.

Wait, what do you mean by temporarily becoming Invokers, are military Invoker slots that worthless now?

Su Changfeng also seemed a bit embarrassed, hurriedly changing the topic once more: ”Let’s not talk about this first. Anyway, I’ll give you these things first. Use them or not, it’s up to you to decide. We said we would give you some support, so of course, we mean what we say. Also, we will send a liaison officer to your team, no objections, right?”

It was something Fang Hong had long anticipated, having the military send someone to join their team. He thought for a moment, then nodded and asked: ”What level, what profession?”

”Just like you, a newcomer, but the training camp holds a high opinion of him. He’s an Iron Guard; your team lacks a front-line type profession to protect you. So we hope that he won’t just be a liaison officer but can also be seen as a reliable teammate and partner by you.”

”When will he arrive?”

”In a while.”

But Fang Hong didn’t expect that ”a while” would last as long as half a month.

Until one day, he received a letter from Diket. The letter was delivered by a Dwarf he knew—Sonan Steelbrow’s brother, an old Dwarf he’d met once at the Mountain Palace—Kalin Steelbrow. The old Dwarf, clad in armor, walked over to him with a clatter of metal, handed him the letter, and said in a deep voice:

”This letter is entrusted to us by Mr. Diket to deliver to you.”

”Also, kid, I’m here to apologize to you.”
