Pillar of Yita

Fang Hong didn’t pay much attention to these socially nonconformist voices, aligning with the common perception.

But Ambassador Liao said: ”Li-Einstein is the origin of the opposition at Stargate Port and also a symbolic figure.”

Upon hearing this, Fang Hong couldn’t help but utter an ’ah’.

The ambassador continued: ”This person was a Chinese-American scientist, engaged in deep space exploration and theoretical physics research in his early years. He had very unique studies on Starlight Material and the Stargate. Initially, he was in charge of the Stargate construction project, but later, he changed his mind and opposed the construction. Because of his high prestige in this field, he quickly became the leader of the opposition, causing quite a stir and bringing significant trouble to the construction of Stargate Port. After his passing, countries worked hard to diminish his influence among the opposition by downplaying his existence.”

”What was his reason for opposing the construction of Stargate Port?” Fang Hong felt a bit incredulous. How could someone first support the construction of the Stargate and then later vehemently oppose his own previous work? If this person had succeeded, wouldn’t there be no Invokers now, and they wouldn’t be able to see this beautiful world, let alone the golden era of humanity over the last half-century?

”Naturally, it’s different from the absurd reasons you see today. Today’s opposition is actually an image intentionally degraded by governments, but Li-Einstein’s initial objections were well-reasoned, mainly based on the Base Expansion Theory.”

”Base Expansion Theory?” Fang Hong had never even heard of the name.

”High-dimensional base points are the foundation for establishing the Stargate Port. You can think of it as the entry coordinates for the Stargate—Li-Einstein’s original equations solved the problem of identifying the proximity point of the high-dimensional world indicated by Starlight Material within our universe. But later, he claimed that his early calculations were erroneous, as the position of the high-dimensional base points was not fixed.”

”Wait, but since his calculations were erroneous, hasn’t the Stargate Port already been established?”

”Due to the Base Expansion Theory, Li-Einstein claimed in his later years that he had discovered the rule of change for the high-dimensional base points and proposed a theory—that the changes in the high-dimensional base points are based on a kind of conscious initiative, which is always searching for the establishment point of a Stargate. So, wherever we build a Stargate, the base point will inevitably overlap with the Stargate. But this theory was too bizarre and coincidental with widespread conspiracy theories, so it wasn’t accepted by the majority mainstream scientists at the time. Furthermore, Li-Einstein’s late manuscripts were obscure and difficult to understand; not many people of that era could comprehend them. Coupled with the fact that he was suffering from ailments at the time, people believed that his manuscript was nothing but ramblings in a state of mental confusion. After his passing, many of his manuscripts were lost, and subsequent research work came to nothing.”

Fang Hong was puzzled: ”But what does this have to do with us?”

”Because we recently discovered that Li-Einstein’s theory seems to have some grounding. Since the Battle of Bain, governments have gradually noticed that Dragon Worshippers have been infiltrating Earth. Initially, we thought they were spreading their ideas through communities and indirectly through Invokers to influence our world. But as our investigations deepened, we began to realize the truth was not that simple—or rather, not just that.”

”Some traces of evidence led us to detect that the Dragon Worshippers seem to have some means of temporarily entering our world. The indications of such activities have been increasing in recent years. On Earth, at Stargate Port, their sightings have occurred more than just once or twice. Just last year, there were at least 40 instances of cult underground activities revealed in our country, one third of which directly linked to the Dragon Worship Sect.”

”In Eastern Europe and South America, they are even more hard-hit areas. Last month, a riot occurred in Guatemala, said to have shadows of the Dragon Worship Sect behind it.”

Hearing this, Fang Hong couldn’t help but shudder.

He never thought that behind the military’s inaction there were such truths concealed. He gently inhaled and asked, ”So, the Dragon Worship Sect can enter our world because the base points of Stargate Port have changed...?”

”It’s more like they have increased.”

”Increased?”

”Simply put, there are more temporary entry points, but their structure is vastly different from our Stargate. They are usually only one-way entries, exist for a short time, and their positions are not fixed.”

”So you haven’t acted against the Super Competitive League because...?”

Ambassador Liao nodded: ”We suspect that the unusual behavior of the Super Competitive League in recent years might not be solely due to commercial interests. The alliance’s degradation, and even the drift of Western countries in Eteliria affairs from us, may be due to someone pushing from behind—”

He paused slightly: ”We have indulged the Super Competitive League to make them lower their guard, but we’ve been observing in the shadows, waiting to confirm our suspicions. Originally, this was supposed to be on hold until after the North-South conflict was resolved, but unexpectedly, a young hero’s accidental intervention gave us direct evidence all at once.”
