Pillar of Yita

He originally thought that as long as he uncovered the mastermind behind the scenes—be it the Dragon Worship Sect, the Shadow Throne, or the Super Competitive League—as long as the schemer’s conspiracy collapsed, the matters of the Southern Region would naturally come to an end. Or, even if not saying it would come to an end, at least it could temporarily prevent the situation from worsening.

But ever since he woke up, watching the situation evolve to its current state, he couldn’t help but feel a bit lost.

After the suspension of the Super Competitive League, the first change that appeared was the termination of the Colin Ishurian Royalty and the Prime Minister’s integration plan of the Southern Invokers through the Shadow Throne.

This plan was originally formed under the premise of deep cooperation between the Super Competitive League and the Colin Ishurian Royalty, a premise that seriously violated the ”Suva Declaration.” Therefore, under the major premise of the domestic investigation of the Super Competitive League, it was almost impossible to continue.

But facts proved that there is no absolute ’vacuum’ in this world.

Especially on the political map, everyone is always occupying their respective positions.

After the departure of the ’agent’ Super Competitive League, the south of the Kingdom virtually experienced a power vacuum. And this vacuum, if occupied by the Colin Ishurian Royalty and the Prime Minister’s side, would undoubtedly further exacerbate the already precarious living space of the Southern Region Alliance.

But if the Southern Alliance intervenes, it means the Prime Minister’s side would have to give up all the previous advantages. This is like saying a game has been played halfway, one side has already gained a significant advantage, and then the referee comes out and says this round doesn’t count, and the game restarts.

Who can tolerate this?

Therefore, neither choice seems acceptable to both sides, and under this prisoner’s dilemma, the situation between the north and south can only become more tense day by day.

Although neither the north nor the south has yet taken action. The Chinese Government is also trying through diplomatic intervention to keep both sides restrained. But without the Invokers as a buffer in between, the Southern Alliance and the Prime Minister’s side suddenly find that they are now directly face to face in this confrontation.

Even more challenging is that the two sides are not evenly matched.

In a disadvantaged situation, the Southern Alliance would naturally not easily propose dialogue.

Moreover, now with the assassination of the Praetor, although this incident carries an air of mystery inside and out, it undoubtedly gives people a wrong impression—that the south is preparing to act.

Not to mention whether this is a ’wrong impression,’ Fang Hong himself isn’t so sure. After all, he can’t represent the high-level of the Southern Alliance, and even his teacher Ande can’t represent them. He thought, if the latter could represent them, the Albert family and Miss Ship’s Officer wouldn’t have ended up in today’s predicament.

Fang Hong even suspects that there might be such a voice within the Southern Alliance—striking first to gain advantage.

Thinking of this, he couldn’t help but sigh.

”If I had known this earlier, Big Catfolk,” he whispered, ”perhaps we should not have gotten involved from the beginning.”

”It’s Lion People, Paladin,” Reed corrected seriously. He picked up his pipe, knocked it on the table, and replied softly, ”Little one, things in this world are not as simple as they seem, especially when it comes to the most obvious situations now.”

Fang Hong scratched his head and said, ”Since it’s like that, why didn’t you tell me earlier that it would be like this?”

Reed shook his head, ”Some things you need to discover, see, and think for yourself. The way we view the world may not always be correct. What you need is your own ideas, and this team needs to embrace your ideas.”

”It may be a bit simplistic, but it’s not necessarily wrong; at least I don’t see any mistakes. And you got one thing wrong, Ade, you weren’t here for this in the first place, were you?”

He looked at Atira, the Elf Miss also gently nodded.

Fang Hong found himself momentarily stunned.

He was silent for quite a while.

However, the assassination of the Praetor, no matter how one looks at it, still feels strange. Besides exposing one’s intentions, what is the point of assassinating someone who still has Starlight? Unfortunately, Fang Hong doesn’t grasp the details, unknown if the assassination plan went awry, allowing the opponent to escape from the Resurrection Point.

Thus, he cannot make a hasty judgment.

But he vaguely feels that this matter might be related to the Dragon Worship Sect.

Rather than saying the Dragon Worship Sect was forced to stop their plan, it might be that they intentionally created the current situation. Perhaps they intended to abandon the Super Competitive League from the beginning, using it as a part of their grand scheme. Their purpose was not to control the south through the Shadow Throne, which is the Prime Minister’s interest.

Their aim is to create complete chaos in the south and seize the opportunity to act.

However, in doing so, the opponent’s plan becomes alarmingly meticulous, flexible and adaptable. And if the Dragon Worship Sect’s plan was really like this from the start, it at least shows that they are not unfamiliar with the operations of political entities on Earth. Whether they conducted deep research or widespread infiltration is unknown.

If an average person knew Fang Hong’s thoughts, they would probably find it incredible, after all, what belongs to Eteliria stays with Eteliria, and what belongs to Earth stays with Earth—though they are connected by a Stargate, the substance and information are irrelevant. Over these years, the main doubts about the Stargate exploration focus on two aspects:

One is whether the actions of various national governments constitute aggression, and whether it is a resurgence of new colonialism?
