Pillar of Yita

Is the Stargate itself a trap, a conspiracy set by a high-dimensional civilization?

As for the indigenous people within Eteliria, most people adopt a condescending attitude towards them. Although they won’t openly display this politically incorrect view, in private, many people treat the natives like NPCs, and this perception is actually quite widespread.

So the ’NPCs’ infiltrating human society would be a global joke, wouldn’t it?

But after this incident, Fang Hong has completely abandoned his belittling thoughts. Having experienced the level of the Dragon Worship Sect as an opponent firsthand, regarding whether this possibility exists, he can only say: anything is possible.

Yet, he did not develop a retreating mindset. A statement from the Big Catfolk soon pulled him out of his confusion; he realized he couldn’t influence the southern situation, and even the current Stargate Port seemed out of reach — but that was never his goal, and he had no reason to get caught up in playing games in a domain he was not adept in.

From the start, he was seeking the truth behind Miss Atira’s brother’s death, and now he continues to follow this path until he finds the mastermind. As said before, without people as carriers, all conspiracies are mere castles in the air.

But this time, he caught a false mastermind, though the problem wasn’t with the plan itself; it was with not finding the real big boss.

However, as long as he continues searching, there will eventually be a day when he finds them.

Fang Hong regained his usual straightforward thinking, and having realized this point, he no longer worried about his previous confusion.

Seeing that he had figured things out, Reed began talking about recent anecdotes to break the stifling atmosphere.

One of them was about the military Invoker. Fang Hong knew the person and had heard of their deeds that day. In fact, had it not been for that person’s obstruction of Pudra’s students, the damage to the Ice Longstone would have been more severe, and the repair time would have been longer.

The battle would definitely not have been won so easily.

Therefore, the Invoker’s performance in the Fanric battle can certainly be described as heroic, especially their caution and decisiveness in times of crisis, which is particularly commendable. In fact, people do call both of them the heroes of Fanric.

Of course, compared to the military Invoker, his fame is naturally much greater.

While he was bedridden and recovering, the Elfendo Council, aiming for him to recuperate in peace, prevented any outside interference here. But in fact, he had already become a well-known celebrity in Fanric — and not just in Fanric, but also spreading throughout the Southern Region, the Long Lake District, even beyond Golande, with the potential to spread throughout the entire kingdom.

In the community, he was momentarily in the spotlight, and people dug up his deeds in Elpaxin, at the Elf Ruins, and even based on bits of evidence, deduced that he was also involved in the Dolifen incident, being the most crucial figure in that broken chain of clues.

There is even a possibility that he is indeed the legendary Young Hero mentioned in tales.

Fortunately, not many people are temporarily linking him to the Fenris incident; firstly, the military is tight-lipped, and secondly, although people have heard of the Guda Suoke Lizardman Kingdom’s ’Star Patron’ legend, they have yet to associate the Star Patron child sought by Ka Cuilan’s Lizard Clan, Ailin Steelbrow, and the Archbishop of Cloud Harbor with the ’sacrificed’ hero in the Fenris incident.

After all, very few people were aware of what happened in the Mountain Palace at that time.

And those who were informed about it kept their mouths tightly shut.

Of course, that didn’t mean there were no speculations, and some did post deductions in the community, but few believed them.

In the following days, he recovered significantly and gradually could get out of bed and move around, and more people began to visit him.

The first to visit was Sophie. The Princess of Silver Weslan was wearing attire that covered her tightly and only removed her mask after entering the room with Xiela, letting out a breath of relief. Fang Hong looked at the two with surprise, and seeing their sneaky demeanor, he initially thought they were assassins sent by the Super Competitive League.

”What’s wrong, being hunted down?”

”Shut up,” Sophie glared at him: ”It’s all your fault, there are rumors outside saying I’m your girlfriend, and the club gave me a good scolding — if I were seen coming here, who knows what might happen.”

Fang Hong blushed, but couldn’t help feeling touched: ”You didn’t have to come, just sending a message would have been enough.”

Sophie sighed: ”Actually, Xiela and I are returning to the Guild. We wanted to see you before we depart.”

Fang Hong was taken aback: ”You’re leaving already, so soon?”

He had a great collaboration with the Silver Weslan Princess, accomplishing many things. Though results were somewhat unexpected, it wasn’t their fault. He was preparing to delve further, but didn’t expect that they were leaving the Southern Region, hence his great surprise.

”Then what?” Sophie gently brushed her jet-black hair and answered nonchalantly: ”The matters in the Southern Region have come to a close, at least for Silver Weslan it is so, and the Super Competitive League has ceased operations; as a guild under the alliance, we cannot bypass the League to engage with the Natives independently.”

She paused, and quietly added: ”Other countries are wary of this, and the government doesn’t want to leave any handle on this matter either.”
