Pillar of Yita

”Understood, Mr. Knight.”

Koras’s steps came to a halt at that moment.

Fang Hong’s heartbeat nearly stopped as well. He stiffly glanced outside, realizing this did not bode well.

In the live broadcast room, ever since Fang Hong entered the workshop, the outside could no longer see the situation inside. But people could clearly see Koras approaching the workshop step by step, the small square merely three or four strides away for him.

The two guests were equally tense, not remembering the last time they experienced such shared anxiety.

A commentator on the side, finding a piece of paper from somewhere, looked at it and stammered, ”Dear viewers, due to sudden events, our contestant is attempting to foil a conspiracy orchestrated by the Dragon Worship Sect.”

”...The workshop belongs to the Westwood Sibika family and houses a teleportation array that leads to the upper floors of the Elfendo Spire. Mr. Ade must activate that teleportation array before Koras completely destroys the workshop.”

But at this moment, who had the patience to listen to his chatter?

The live broadcast room was deathly quiet because everyone saw that Koras had stopped in front of the Westwood Sibika family’s workshop.

This Fishman God boldly raised his head amidst the barrage of artillery fire and then rammed into it. With a thunderous crash, the tall workshop collapsed in an instant, turning into dust and ashes. As they gazed at the scattered ruins, people’s hearts leaped to their throats—

”Failed?”

The square was silent.

Just then, a silver light suddenly rose, piercing through clouds in an instant, directing straight towards the center of Vanric City and connecting to the Elfendo Spire.

In that moment, everyone’s eyes reflected this dazzling light, and an indescribable emotion welled up in their hearts. Many people, in that instant, pounded their desks forcefully, amidst a cacophony of slamming.

Everyone couldn’t help but burst out:

”Damn, it worked!”

...

Six Water Escorts, hull number 571.

In the captain’s room, the communications officer turned back and loudly reported, ”Target has successfully reached the destination.”

Hearing this, the captain merely squinted and nodded. He tapped his pipe on the console and replied, ”Order gun groups one through four to cease fire. Raise the sails again, left rudder thirty, head towards Vanric.”

He paused for a moment:

”Have the knights ready and prepare to deploy the main construct onto the battlefield.”

...

Linen, caught in a struggle, suddenly saw a beam of white light descend before him. The next moment, he saw a dusty young man emerge from it.

The other party also noticed them immediately, raised his hand without a word, and launched a flying fist at the Dragon Worshipper beside Linen. Startled, the latter quickly let go of Linen’s hand, drew a sword from their waist to block, but before they could steady the sword, it was sent flying.

The sword clattered loudly as it fell into the hall.

Fang Hong saw clearly, raised his hand, and the Pride of the Lonely King, which had flown out, suspended mid-air. With a gentle snap, even before the opponent could react, the dark Dragon’s Claw had firmly grasped their shoulder.

Without much effort, the magical engine engaged, cables tautened, and forcibly pulled the opponent off the ground. Fang Hong swung forcefully, reversing his hand to toss them off the balcony.

The Dragon Worshipper let out a piercing scream as they plummeted from the seventieth-floor height to the square below.

The long echo lingered for several seconds before cutting off abruptly.

Fang Hong retracted his glove and then turned to another person. That Dragon Worshipper, terrified, retreated while releasing Linen’s hand, attempting to flee, but barely took two steps before feeling a sharp pain in the back as a Silver Blade stabbed through, protruding from their chest.

The Dragon Worshipper opened their mouth, but the blade had already split their lung and pierced the trachea, only allowing them to emit some hissing sounds. Then, their head slumped, and everything went black.

Fang Hong gestured with the glove, and the Energy Angel withdrew the blade, silently watching the corpse dissolve into black specks ascending into the air.

He frowned at these mottled points of light, having encountered the same black glow before. But besides the Dark Giant Dragon, he hadn’t heard of these Dragon Worshippers worshiping any deities, so what kind of Strength could this peculiar resurrection stem from?

”Mr. Ade?”

Fang Hong turned around and, after a moment, recognized the young man who had been captured by the Dragon Worshippers. ”Are you Linen from the Elfendo Team?”

But before he finished, Linen, with a worried expression, grabbed him and hurriedly pulled him forward. ”Rolin has been bewitched by Dragon Worship Sect members. They intend to interfere with Nikopolas’s Dragon’s Claw. Although I don’t know what they plan, we must stop them immediately—while there’s still time.”

However, Fang Hong understood their intentions. Of course, it was to reclaim a part of the Dragon’s Witch’s lost Strength and restore its full power as quickly as possible.

He, however, calmed down instead, asking, ”Weren’t you and Rolin together?”

”I accidentally saw him leaving the square and followed, not expecting to be captured by Dragon Worshippers.” Linen answered truthfully.

”Did they confiscate your Communication Crystal?”

Linen nodded.

”How long have you been up here?”

”About ten minutes before you.”

Fang Hong’s brow furrowed at this. Ten minutes? With his experience at the Traveler’s Rest, ten minutes was more than enough for them to release Nikopolas’s Strength. He suddenly stopped, asking, ”You’ve been watching the situation in the hall all this time, didn’t notice anything?”

Linen thought for a moment before replying, ”Earlier, there seemed to be a black mist rising in the hall, but shortly before your arrival, they retracted, and now, they are gone.”

Black mist?

Fang Hong cursed internally, suddenly feeling alarmed. He turned and pushed Linen away, leaping in the opposite direction. All he heard was a gust of wind and a black light sweeping between them.

The black light sunk into the floor behind them, carving a trench three meters long and nearly ten inches deep.

Fang Hong turned back to see a tall shadow slowly emerging from the hall.

And a pair of gold-red eyes gazed down upon him, as if peering into the depths of his nightmare.

”We meet again,” a dual voice emanated from within the shadow, vibrating as it merged into one, a deep and powerful sound coupled with a calm and rational one. The deep voice solemnly said, ”Since parting from Dolifen, it feels like a long, long time has passed.”

The other voice, however, carried a hint of emotion: ”You shouldn’t have come here, Ade.”

That voice, it was so similar to what he had heard in his Phantom Realm.

It was Lady Misu’s voice.

At that moment, Fang Hong felt a chill all over.
