Pillar of Yita

The Master of Magic Potion Studies was taken aback, his face gloomy as he looked at him, ”What?”

Fang Hong didn’t bother with any chatter, raised his right hand, and two beams of blue light flashed, and two Energy Angels appeared behind Pudra. Though Pudra was a Grand Artificer, how could a mere Alchemist be his match?

The latter showed panic at this sight, instinctively took a step back wanting to call for guards. But how could Fang Hong give him that chance—he ordered one Energy Angel to pierce the opponent’s Magic Guided Reactor with a sword, while the other Energy Angel delivered an elbow strike to Pudra’s abdomen.

Pudra grunted, immediately bending over painfully.

It was only then that the commotion drew everyone’s attention.

Sonan gasped in astonishment, angrily shouted, ”Kid, what are you doing!”

But as he intended to step forward, Kalin extended the axe in his hand, blocking his brother’s path, ”You fool, think carefully about what this guy has done.”

Only then did Ande turn around, looked at Pudra and shook his head slightly, ”Pudra, the guards reported that earlier only your student entered the Elfendo Tower Heart Hall.”

Pudra spat out a mouthful of blood, his eyes rolling as he replied, ”Really? But how come I heard there were people from Stargate Port too.”

”If no one shut off the defense system inside the hall, outsiders couldn’t have entered the Tower Heart Hall through hidden passages. Moreover, your student mingles with Lizardmen, which the guards saw with their own eyes, what else do you have to say?”

”Though he’s my student, he’s just a Chosen One.”

”But he holds your token, as one of the highest seven in the council, only you have the authority to let your student enter the central area.”

”He might have stolen it.”

Ande sneered, ”Perhaps, but you can’t escape suspicion either, say whatever you want after all of this ends. For now, please don’t leave our sight, otherwise, don’t blame me for being rude.”

Pudra took a breath, replied resentfully, ”I’m also a council member, you can’t detain me, I demand fair treatment.”

”Regrettably, it’s wartime now,” Ande replied, ”This was decided by me and the Old Speaker, out of the three speakers, only Old Copper Nose hasn’t expressed his stance, two against one, voting concluded.”

Pudra instantly fell silent.

The Old Dwarf muttered on the side, ”You didn’t inform me either.”

Ande was extremely displeased with him, not even glancing at him, only turned back to give Fang Hong a nod of approval.

Only then did everyone seem to notice the ’Star Patron,’ the recent competition had showcased this young man’s astounding performance. Compared to him, the candidate recommended by Count Westwood Sibika, Rolin, appeared utterly lackluster.

Count Westwood Sibika himself also silently looked at Fang Hong.

But Fang Hong himself felt no pride at all.

He silently watched Pudra lying on the ground. Though he kept an eye on Rolin and the Shadow Throne people, he hadn’t expected an internal mole within the Elfendo Council. He had suspected this Master of Magic Potion Studies before, but unfortunately the suspicion came a bit too late—

He turned back to gaze at the flooded Lower City Area, sighed deeply.

Luckily, at this critical moment the craftsmen remained calm, promptly issuing one command after another—their tasks were nothing more than two aspects: further evacuate the populace, and hinder Koras’s advance.

But after all, the Elfendo Council is merely an Alchemists Alliance, not some Adventurers’ Guild. Without the reliance on the Elfendo Spire, the craftsmen could only mobilize the hundred-plus War Profession craftsmen from the Combat Artisan Department.

However, the majority of them were inexperienced newcomers, the remaining ones capable of fighting were less than a third.

Even this third had already proceeded to the battlefield, led by two Grand Artificers from the Combat Artisan Department—

The City Defense Force was no longer reliable, not to mention Count Roniel had completely lost command, looking forlorn and resigned. Moreover, during the prior battle, most of the ’Iron Curtain’ Constructs had been dispatched to the plaza, and now the pathway to the Lower City Area was destroyed, trapping these massive constructs there.

Without heavy equipment, how could soldiers, with just their flesh and blood, counter Koras?

Besides, extended peace had eroded their already meager combat strength, they wouldn’t hold against Koras, and even facing Thornfish People would likely result in a dismal defeat.

Everyone clearly recognized this point, thus no longer focused on the City Defense Force. At this moment, with joint support from Phales and Kalin Steelbrow, Ande made a bold decision to collaborate with Stargate Port—

After all, compared to Roniel, these Earthlings seemed much more reliable.

Su Changfeng wasn’t surprised by the craftsmen’s choice.

He merely glanced at Fang Hong, recalling the investigation him and his daughter had conducted—unfortunately, the Dragon Worshippers had hidden far deeper than they imagined. Who would have thought, one of the highest-power seven within the Elfendo Council would be a Dragon Worshipper?

Even he couldn’t fathom what they were scheming.

He listened silently to everyone’s descriptions, didn’t shirk, directly replied, ”Everyone, our nearest warship is within a quarter-hour’s journey. It’s a challenge to hold Koras for half an hour, but a quarter-hour should suffice.”

He pointed at the unfolded map, ”Currently Koras should be advancing along this route, ahead lies the Holy Sanctuary of Goddess Roman, with many resurrected citizens there, we must prevent them from reaching there at all costs.”

Su Changfeng raised his head, looked at everyone, ”Additionally, when facing opponents like Koras, quantity doesn’t matter, we must gather our strongest fighters. Hence I, and the Combat Artisan Department heads from your alliance, should take charge of direct confrontation, as for the others—”

He paused, ”The main task is to block the Thornfish People, preventing further damage within the city.”

”Finally,” he continued, ”With the City Defense Force being unreliable, we need the adventurers’ strength, requiring someone with prestige to rally the adventurers at the plaza. This person should ideally be a Chosen, as the majority of adventurers in the Southern Region are Chosen from what I understand.”

Everyone instinctively looked towards Fang Hong.

As the winner of the recent competition, Star Patron, and holding the status of a Holy Chosen, apart from him—

Who else is more suited for the task?

But Fang Hong frowned deeply.

Suddenly, he raised his head and asked, ”Where’s Rolin, has anyone seen him?”

This question left everyone stunned.
