Pillar of Yita

”Please wait a moment.”

Just at that moment, an untimely voice sounded from outside the square.

This statement made everyone pause, and they couldn’t help but look in that direction. They saw that suddenly there was a commotion on the outskirts of the square, where the crowd seemed to be shoved apart, revealing rows of brightly armored guards.

The Old Speaker squinted his eyes at the sight of these guards.

He recognized them as the Praetor’s elite guards.

And among the guards, indeed, it was the current Praetor of Fanric—a man sitting on horseback, dressed in noble robes, looking extremely smart and capable.

John Roniel, Count Fanric.

As soon as he appeared, he took a scroll from within his robe and slowly unrolled it, saying:

”This is a hand order signed by the Prime Minister.”

He then looked at Su Changfeng and spoke: ”This Holy Chooser, according to the appendix of the ’Memo,’ doesn’t the intervention of the Holy Chooser in the Colin-Ishurian Crown Prince dispute also constitute a serious violation of Article 3, Clause 7 of the provision?”

Su Changfeng then slightly furrowed his brow, knowing that the situation might change, but still nodded.

”Very well,” Count Roniel nodded politely at him, then turned back, looking coldly at Fang Hong—staring at Fang Hong so intently that he felt guilty, feeling a bad foreboding in his heart.

But soon, this bad premonition turned into reality.

He heard the other party coldly ask, ”Mr. Ade, may I ask if you know Miss Hilveld Rang Albert?”

This question struck Fang Hong’s heart like a clap of thunder.

And the entire square fell silent.

The name Hilveld Rang Albert might still be unfamiliar to most people.

But if it was replaced with the title of the daughter of Mawei Jean Albert, it would be enough to make every person in the Southern Region suddenly realize. Sir Mawei, one of the greatest explorers in Colin-Ishurian history, his name itself is a pride of the Southern Region.

And the brotherly relationship between him and Prince Coleman is something outsiders couldn’t finish talking about in a day and a night.

Yet precisely this relationship brought catastrophe to the Albert family.

In the sixth year after he left Colin-Ishurian for the Second World, the new king ascended the throne, and the friendship that once existed with his royal uncle has now turned into suspicion in the minds of the Prime Minister’s party.

And as the power struggle intensified, the identity of this Great Explorer became increasingly awkward.

Especially when the news of disaster from his fleet arrived, the title of Rebels hastily fell upon him and his daughter.

While the young king may still have some tolerance for the Southern Region Alliance and the Elfendo Council, this prince’s right-hand man was undoubtedly a thorn in his side.

And in this era, being associated with such a name is something most people would avoid at all costs.

But John Roniel didn’t give Fang Hong a chance to refute. He took out those photos—clearly the same limited edition collection as Pudra’s hand—and said, ”Mr. Ade, you wouldn’t say you don’t know the lady beside you in this photo, would you?”

He shook the photos again and looked at Su Changfeng: ”Holy Chooser, if you have any doubts, I have more evidence here.”

These words were almost identical to what Su Changfeng said before.

Su Changfeng could only fall silent.

Fang Hong also silently thought things were bad. He looked at the square, but fortunately, Hilveld was not in that place.

At this moment, Roniel raised the document in his hand: ”The Prime Minister personally ordered that Mr. Ade come with us for a moment. Don’t worry, the Prime Minister just wants to ask you some questions.”

With that, he pointed forward, and the guards immediately surrounded them.

But this time, the Old Speaker went forward without backing down, looking seriously at the latter, not yielding at all.

Roniel was slightly taken aback: ”Mr. Speaker, what are you trying to do?”

”When did outsiders also meddle in the craftsmen’s competition?” The Old Speaker sneered: ”According to the ancient tradition among the alchemists of Colin-Ishurian, only an alchemist can take an alchemist away from the competition.”

As the old man said this, he didn’t even give John Roniel a glance, his tone full of superiority.

But he had the right, because he was not only an alchemist but also one of the few Grand Artificers of Colin-Ishurian.

In front of such a legitimate alchemist, what are mere traditional nobles?

”You—”

The Count was furious; he had long known that these people never regarded their Prime Minister’s party, but he hadn’t expected the other party to dare to openly defy the royal orders of Colin-Ishurian.

But such public humiliation left him speechless, after all, the Colin-Ishurian Royalty still relied on the alchemists. As for the traditions among alchemists—

He would not risk the world’s condemnation to oppose it.

He could only glance at Pudra.

Pudra understood and quickly spoke: ”Old Speaker, your actions breach protocol, you alone cannot represent the opinion of the Elfendo Council.”

”Then let’s vote on it.”

From the crowd, another voice emerged.

This voice was all too familiar to Pudra, making his brow involuntarily twitch as he looked in that direction. Only to see Ande leading a group of alchemists, alongside Count Westwood Sibika, coming over from the crowd.
