Pillar of Yita

Bakins murmured, ”Four, that’s big trouble.”

The Lion People looked at him curiously.

Bakins then explained, ”Behind each Grand Diviner is a clan, meaning at least four clans are involved in this attack. This is a scale unseen in a decade. The Thornfish People fight fiercely among themselves, they rarely act in unison unless someone behind the scenes unifies them—”

He paused, ”like what the Dragon Worship Sect did thirteen years ago.”

Under their gaze, the four Fishmen Diviners stopped, raised their bone scepters in knee-deep water, and began chanting while performing a bizarre dance.

But the dance had no artistic beauty, only an unsettling and eerie feeling.

”What kind of evil ritual is that?” Reed picked up the Scepter of Authority, coldly asked, ”Can we stop them?”

”We can try.”

Bakins replied nonchalantly, showing no fear.

But at that moment, Elisa’s slightly trembling voice came:

”What is that...”

The lake surface was cast with a verdant refraction.

But it was actually a wave, initially just one or two meters, rapidly growing into an impenetrable water wall, and the wall continued to rise further, emitting a terrifying rumbling sound.

The three looked up at the scene.

”Quick, let Mr. Greyrock retreat to the Forest,” Reed suddenly said, ”There’s a tall Mangrove Forest over there, we’d better not attract that big guy’s attention.”

He had already calculated that the wave would submerge the high ground here.

Elisa said nothing, turned, and ran back.

But the tide was faster, rolling over the lake shore, flooding the Forest. Elisa felt a tremendous force behind her, seemingly trying to sweep her away. But she, quick with her hands and eyes, threw ’Dawn’ forward with all her might, a bolt of lightning pierced a tree trunk, causing the tall mangrove to crash down with a loud bang.

The water pushed Elisa heavily against the tree trunk, she grunted but took the chance to hold onto the tree trunk tightly, preventing herself from being swept away. ’Dawn’ then transformed into a streak of arc light flying back, Elisa tilted her head, biting her Dagger with her ivory teeth.

She watched the vast flood surge forward, a variety of debris floating on the water surface, even a few panic-stricken lizards struggling within the whirlpool before quickly vanishing.

The tide continued forward, crashing against Mr. Greyrock, pushing him back repeatedly, knocking over a swath of red willow. But at this moment, Elisa saw the Guy device on him emit a faint light, the Atira atop reverse activated the Magic Guided Reactor, the resulting gravity firmly pressed the Beast of Burden to the ground.

She couldn’t help but feel thankful, glad the Big Cat People reminded her timely.

And it was at this moment, a furry paw reached over, Elisa looked up and saw the Big Cat People climbing onto the tree trunk, standing steadily there. Bakins was also perched on another tree, watching the direction of the port.

Elisa thanked the other, climbed up, and then looked behind. Since their side was originally high ground, the flood’s force was limited, and after a surge, the tide quickly receded.

But the port was different—

Elisa watched the tumultuous water wave surge into the port, directly drowning roof after roof, turning the original street into a swamp, countless people drifting with the tide, not only guards and craftsmen inside the port—even many civilians, cries echoed to the heavens.

As if in an instant, a quarter of Fanric disappeared.

The twin sister turned away, unable to bear watching anymore.

”Ade and the others are still in town.” She asked worriedly.

”The water won’t reach the city center for a while, the terrain is higher there,” The Big Cat People frowned, heavily armored he couldn’t operate in this swamp. Watching the distant devastation, he was also powerless, only silently taking out a smoking pipe, but striking it a few times with flint couldn’t ignite it, he shook his head and put it away again.

He then comforted with a sentence, ”Ade and the others should be fine.”

But it was at this moment, Bakins suddenly turned from the tree and shouted at them:

”I see Parker and Xiangzi.”

...

City Center.

The Elfendo Council members stared blankly at the scene ahead.

The emerald wall finally descended, forming a wave that surged into the Lower City Area, in an instant a quarter of the city disappeared, along with it countless lives.

This reminded one of the Battle of Bain thirteen years ago, when cultists alongside Thornfish People attacked the city, only this time Fanric didn’t suffer such a loss.

”These damn disasters,” the Dwarf showed a hint of panic on his bronze face, cursing regretfully, ”If I drag them out, I’ll rip their guts out and strangle them one by one—leave none—”

”What’s the point of saying that,” Ande sighed, ”Send people to protect Ouli, Roman, and Lord Angina’s Holy Sanctuary, don’t let what happened thirteen years ago happen again, we cannot let the people die again.”

Several craftsmen nodded at the words, immediately accepted the order and left.

Fang Hong’s eyes flashed, suddenly seeing Pudra moving, immediately stepped forward blocking the other’s path.
