Pillar of Yita

”I was just giving an example.”

”Even giving an example is not allowed.”

The Old Speaker tapped the table, signaling everyone to be quiet: ”So, does anyone know who this young man is?”

Silence.

Phales turned to look at Ande, but Ande did not speak. Phales thought for a moment and also did not answer. He looked behind him, relieved that Elpaxin’s people had gone out and hadn’t returned yet.

The Old Speaker turned the page over, covering it on the table, and looked up. His sharp eyes under his snow-white eyebrows scanned the crowd. He asked again, ”So, does anyone know where this young man comes from?”

”He did not arrive in Fanric with the people from Raganrok.”

”Someone saw Raganrok’s people picking up a person in the dock area.”

People picked up those scattered pieces of information and answered with a lot of chatter.

The Old Speaker waved his hand to stop these meaningless statements. The old man rubbed his forehead with his thumb and forefinger and then said, ”With his level of skill, could it be possible that this young talent is the one behind the scenes imparting knowledge?”

”How could that be possible?”

”How old is he?”

”Were you able to achieve this level at his age?” someone laid out a few pages in a row, and the uniformly distributed points were slightly dazzling.

The person was left speechless.

”Actually, it can be found out with just one question.”

”We don’t even need to ask,” someone else said. ”Don’t we have another competition?”

The Old Speaker opened his eyes, feeling that this suggestion was somewhat reliable. He turned and asked if Raganrok had entered the next round and immediately received an affirmative reply that Raganrok had defeated Elite and entered the next round.

By a slight margin.

”Then let’s do it this way.”

He tapped the table, finalizing the decision.

Even though Sonan Steelbrow is the current Speaker of the Elfendo Council, in his absence, and with Ande Ulriel acting as if transparent, everyone temporarily followed the Old Speaker’s lead.

”They let your student advance to the next round,” Phales suddenly whispered to his old friend beside him.

”Yes, I know.” Ande replied thoughtfully.

”Aren’t you worried?”

”What should I be worried about?”

Phales gave him a strange look, then whispered again, ”Do you know your student participated in a competition at Elpaxin?”

”What?” Ande was taken aback.

At this time, the Old Speaker turned his head and saw the two whispering.

But he did not know what the two were discussing. He pretended not to care and asked, ”Phales, I remember the Elfendo Council has a nomination slot? Since it’s all for the glory of Colin Ishurian, how about we choose this young man for our Elfendo Council?”

”Don’t even think about it,” Phales suddenly jumped up, nervously covering the stack of scores with his hands, as if it were the selection list. Although everyone belongs to the Colin Ishurian Alchemy circles, there is still a distinction between organizations and regions.

He looked at the other side and then looked towards Count Westwood Sibika: ”Wait, I must remind you—don’t you already have a young man named Rolin?”

The Old Speaker was taken aback.

After the competition at Elpaxin, Colin Ishurian successfully secured a place and gained an additional entry slot.

Among the two slots, one belongs to the Kapuka Artisan Association, and the other is nominated by the Royal Household.

The Royal nomination traditionally requires that a third of the team comes from the Golande Artisan’s General Guild, a third from the Southern Region Alchemist Alliance, and the remaining third from the Summoners’ Guild.

This is also to reflect Colin Ishurian’s inclusive philosophy as a multi-ethnic nation.

The slot belonging to the Golande Artisan’s General Guild is usually directly allocated from the General Guild, but if there are no suitable personnel, a selection competition is held to directly select excellent talents from the competition. Just like the exhibition match currently held in Fanric.

As for the three names belonging to the Summoners’ Guild, they are competed for independently by each major guild, but those with the capability are usually some familiar faces every year—not Silver Forest Crown, then Elite.

However, this year there was a dark horse that knocked Elite off its pedestal. So Elite had to fight brutally against the guild teams like Raganrok in the exhibition match. Speaking of which, Fang Hong also knew this dark horse, it was the Oak Knights Guild where Gita and Luo Yu belonged, his old acquaintances.

This is also why people cannot believe that Elite would have surprising defeats twice in a row. Once narrowly losing to the Oak Knights, and once again falling to Raganrok, as if the Continental League were an underdog competition.

Otherwise, related news would have already exploded in the community.

Returning to the topic, the three slots from the Southern Region are divided among the three great noble families: Westwood Sibika, Modkaesar, and Elvin. It’s just that the Westwood Sibika family is inextricably linked with the Elfendo Council, and the two have long been inseparable.

Therefore, it was reasonable when the Old Speaker previously mentioned that the Elfendo Council had a nomination slot.

But after hearing Phales’s words, the other side hesitated for a moment, turning around to look at Count Westwood Sibika. The Count was frowning, as he had already recognized Fang Hong as the young man seen at the manor yesterday with the little girl from the Mawei family.

He had met him once then, but at that time, his heart was full of matters concerning Rolin and did not pay attention.

Honestly, a trace of hesitation flashed through his mind.
